Phil Mickelson Won't Play In Masters, Cites Family 'Personal Health Matter'
Phil Mickelson I'm Out of Masters Due To Family Health Matter
First it was Tiger Woods, now Phil Mickelson announced he will not be competing for a green jacket this year -- Lefty revealed he's taking some time away as his family deals with a "personal health matter."
The three-time Masters winner stated minutes ago he won't be going for a fourth in 2026 ... days after Tiger shared his own update following a DUI arrest.
That means two of the biggest and most beloved figures in the sport will be MIA next week.
"Unfortunately, I will not play in the Masters Tournament next week and will be out for an extended period of time as my family continues to navigate a personal health matter," Mickelson said.
"I have great respect for Augusta National Golf Club and it is definitely the most special week of the year."
"I wish everyone the best of luck and will be watching," he added.
Mickelson won the Masters in 2004, 2006 and 2010 ... and his last major victory came at the 2021 PGA Championship.
He hasn't had his usual success as of late ... but the turnaround isn't happening at Augusta.
The tourney will now look to the younger superstars to draw eyeballs this time around.
