11:38 AM PT -- TMZ Sports caught up with author Jim Murphy on A.J. Brown's viral moment ... and he said he's grateful the receiver is bringing attention to the contents of his book.

Murphy said he was aware Brown got his hands on his work ... but had no idea he was holding onto it so much that he had it on him during games.

As for whether he'd like to meet up with Brown, Murphy said he doesn't want to be a distraction amid the team's playoff run ... but provided some knowledge on what they can focus on to succeed even more.

Philadelphia Eagles star A.J. Brown went viral for cracking open a book right on the bench during his team's Wild Card matchup with the Packers on Sunday ... but he says it's actually nothing new -- 'cause reading gives him a sense of peace mid-game.

Clips of Brown's impromptu book club session quickly made rounds on social media ... with some folks assuming having his nose deep in "Inner Excellence" by Jim Murphy was a sign of rebellion amid his quiet day on the field.

Brown cleared the air with reporters in the locker room after the 22-10 victory ... and he said he always has the literature by his side on gameday -- it's just the first time it's been caught on video.

A man decked out in Philadelphia Eagles gear berated a female Packers fan on Sunday -- clapping in her face and calling her a "c***" -- and at least part of the ugly scene was captured on video.

The confrontation happened at some point during Green Bay's disappointing 22-10 playoff loss to Philly at Lincoln Financial Field ... when Packers content creator Alexander Basara says he and his fiancée were trying to catch the game from some upper deck seats.

In footage Basara posted to his X page late Sunday night, you can see after refs changed a ruling on the field -- a man in a green Eagles jacket got in Basara's fiancée's ear ... clapped a few times, and yelled, "Short of the goal line, you dip s***!"

Hall of Famer LeRoy Butler says there are precisely TWO NFC teams that can defeat the surging Lions squad ... and they just happen to be playing each other this weekend!

"The only two teams can beat Detroit are [the Packers and Eagles]. Nobody else can beat Detroit. No, it's impossible," the Green Bay legend told Babcock on the TMZ Sports TV show (airs nightly on FS1).

The Scottsdale Police Dept. says it all happened back on Sept. 30 ... after a woman dialed 911 and told dispatch that someone matching Lacy's Audi SUV description was driving so erratically, she was worried they were "going to kill somebody."

Davante Adams is getting another change of scenery -- the superstar wide receiver is being traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets ... pairing him with his old buddy, Aaron Rodgers.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport broke the news on Tuesday ... saying the three-time All-Pro is heading to the Big Apple in exchange for a conditional third-round pick that could elevate to a second.

As part of the agreement, N.Y. will reportedly take on the rest of Adams' five-year, $140 million deal he signed in 2022.

Brett Favre just made a sad revelation on Capitol Hill ... the 54-year-old gunslinger announced he was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's.

The legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback made the announcement during a welfare reform hearing in D.C. Tuesday ... where Favre said he believed he was on the verge, with the company, Prevacus, of developing medication to help treat head injuries.

"Sadly, I also lost an investment in a company that I believed was developing a breakthrough concussion drug I thought would help others," Favre said during his opening statement.

Josh Jacobs is fittin' in just fine in Green Bay ... the Pro Bowl running back copped a pair of custom cleats, inspired by the fan base's iconic "Cheesehead" look during the Packer's win on Sunday!

You might've noticed the dope spikes on Jacobs' feet during the Packers vs. Titans game at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville ... where GB handed Tennessee their third consecutive loss of the season.

Packers center Josh Myers had a sick game Sunday, literally ... he PUKED ON THE FOOTBALL before snapping it to his quarterback, Malik Willis.

The vomit-inducing moment went down during the second quarter of the Packers' 16-10 win over the Colts ... right as 26-year-old Myers was about to snap the ball on 3rd and 10.

Philadelphia Eagles star Darius Slay is issuing an apology -- but not to any one person -- rather to an entire nation ... saying he's sorry to Brazil for comments he made about the country ahead of his team's upcoming game in São Paulo.

The 33-year-old cornerback took to his X account to make the mea culpa on Tuesday night -- just days after he said he did not want to travel to Brazil for the Eagles' season-opener against the Packers at all.

Slay said on his "Big Play Slay" podcast he was concerned about the country's crime rate -- before he asked straight up, "NFL, why do y'all wanna send us somewhere where the crime rate is this high?"

Simone Biles may be a beloved Olympic champ, but NFL fans say she's not above the sport's rivalries ... roasting the Olympian for wearing a Packers jacket to a Bears game.

Here's the deal ... Biles' husband Jonathan Owens made the switch from the Green Bay Packers to the Chicago Bears this offseason -- two teams locked in one of the oldest rivalries in the sport.

Superstitions aside, Favre tells us he's super proud of what Reid has accomplished since the two worked together in Green Bay way back in the 1990s ... telling us he could see even then that Reid had this in him.

In fact, he says he's never seen Andy happier ... and he can't fathom Big Red retiring after Sunday no matter what happens against the 49ers.

"He's enjoying -- maybe more so than any other time in his career -- what he's doing," Favre said. "He seems to be in a really good place."
