Incredible update on Alijah Arenas -- the high school basketball star and USC commit is out of his coma and making strides in his recovery just 24 hours after his terrifying Cybertruck crash.

An Arenas family rep shared the positive news just minutes ago ... saying the 18-year-old's development has been "remarkable and hopeful."

The statement said Arenas remains intubated ... but at one point, was able to open his eyes and write on a piece of paper to ask if anyone was hurt as a result of the accident.

Al Sharpton just got done meeting with Wendy Williams at her assisted living facility ... and he says they prayed over her situation.

We got Al going in and out of the Coterie in New York City on Thursday -- the place Wendy likes to refer to as a "luxury prison" -- and our photog asked him about what he's doing to help Wendy and how she's holding up.

"I NEED ALL YOURE (sic) F***EN PRAYERS," Govan said minutes ago.

High school basketball phenom Alijah Arenas, the son of former NBA superstar Gilbert Arenas, was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after crashing his Tesla Cybertruck early Thursday morning ... TMZ Sports has learned.

It's unclear what caused the wreck, but the luxury vehicle was completely mangled on the side of the road of a Los Angeles neighborhood based on images we have viewed.

We're told emergency responders raced to the scene at 4:55 AM -- after fire personnel responded to a "trapped patient" ... but when help arrived, everyone inside the vehicle had already made it out.

Teddi Mellencamp's on the road to recovery ... 'cause she says her tumors have shrunk significantly -- and, her doctors think she's just a few weeks away from beating cancer.

The reality star took to social media Wednesday to share the good news with her fans ... announcing it looks like her treatment is working because the tumors on her brain are much smaller than they were before.

Teddi says she has two more sessions of immunotherapy, and then she hopes her treatment will be wrapped up and she'll be completely cancer-free, as her doctors believe she might be very soon.

Carlos Santana is on the mend after suffering a medical emergency and being rushed to a hospital ... but he's going to have to scrap another show.

A rep for the legendary musician tells TMZ ... Carlos has been discharged from the hospital and is resting in a hotel, but his show Wednesday night in Sugar Land, Texas has been postponed out of an abundance of caution.

Heartbreaking news -- influencer Dominique McShain has died at 21 after fighting an incurable form of colorectal cancer.

Dominique had been sharing her cancer journey with her followers on TikTok, and earlier this month -- almost a year since her diagnosis in May 2024 -- she posted what would be her final update, saying doctors had given her just days to weeks left.

Dominique, who was based in New Zealand, shared that her liver was failing fast -- to the point of jaundice -- and her cancer had progressed so quickly that she’d been moved into end-of-life care.

5:56 PM PT -- The San Antonio Fire Department tells TMZ ... they responded to the Majestic Theater at 5 PM CT for a report of an elderly patient who had reportedly fainted and transported them to the hospital with a non life-threatening condition.

4:38 PM PT -- A rep for Carlos Santana tells TMZ ... tonight's concert at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio has been postponed. The singer is currently under observation in Texas. His rep says he's doing well and looks forward to coming back to San Antonio soon as well as continuing his US Tour.

The rep adds the San Antonio show will be rescheduled soon.

Health scare for Carlos Santana ... he's in a hospital right now getting treatment after suffering a medical emergency before a concert in Texas ... TMZ has learned.

A rep for the legendary musician tells us Carlos suffered a medical emergency Tuesday that they suspect is dehydration. He was put into an ambulance and has left the venue, and we're told by his rep he's been hospitalized for further testing.

Santana's rep says his Tuesday night show at the Majestic Theater in San Antonio is not currently canceled -- but that could change depending on how Carlos responds to treatment.

"My knowledge is she was using drugs and was a tiny young woman. She was with other people when she died. I didn't know them. There is an investigation ongoing. The autopsy results are not in. They said it would take 6-8 weeks. So I can't say definitively.”

Actress Sophie Nyweide -- famous for her roles in "Mammoth" and "An Invisible Sign" -- is dead.

Sophie died April 14 in Bennington, VT ... according to her family. The cause of death is unclear.

In an obituary, Sophie's family hints at what led to her early death, saying ... "Sophie was a kind and trusting girl. Often this left her open to being taken advantage of by others. She wrote and drew voraciously, and much of this art depicts the depth she had, and it also represents the pain she suffered. Many of her writings and artwork are roadmaps of her struggles and traumas."

Lil Uzi Vert is currently getting medical treatment in NYC -- the "Eternal Atake" rapper was rushed to a hospital ... TMZ Hip Hop has learned.

Paramedics responded to an EMS call Monday afternoon for a "sick person" in Lower Manhattan.

Pope Francis died from a stroke and a heart issue.

The Vatican released the official death certificate for Francis on Monday, and Vatican doctor Andrea Arcangeli says the Pope died as a result of a stroke and irreversible heart failure.

Francis' death certificate also reveals the Pope had been in a coma before his death on Monday morning. That's interesting because we saw the Pope the day before, on Easter Sunday, meeting briefly with Vice President J.D. Vance at the Vatican.

Pope Francis -- the 266th pope in the Catholic Church's history -- has died ... the Vatican confirms.

"At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and His Church," Cardinal Kevin Ferrell said in a statement on Monday.

Reports began to surface at the end of February that the pontiff was preparing for death after he was hospitalized with double pneumonia earlier in the month. He was also being treated for bronchitis at the time.

Numerous dignitaries visited him in the hospital while he was recovering ... including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who said the pope was as "alert and reactive" as always
