A 911 alarm call at Adam Devine’s Los Angeles home quickly turned into a real-life scare for one of the responding police officers who took a dramatic fall at the property ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... cops rushed to the actor's home shortly after 2 PM Monday when his alarm system was triggered.
We're told officers conducted a thorough search of the property, but ultimately found no evidence of a break-in or any signs of an attempted forced entry.

A shooting at a mall in New York caused a panic Saturday ... with people rushing to take cover in the back of a hair salon, in a bathroom and more -- and it was all caught on video.
Patrons of the Sangertown Mall in New Hartford, New York were going about their day ... when what sounded like gunshots rang out -- and people dove for cover.
Watch the clip ... while at first a group of people in a salon aren't sure what they heard after multiple shots are fired, they quickly jump into action, crowding in the back of the store for cover.

Colin Stough, the 20-year-old "American Idol" fan-favorite, has been arrested for alleged drunk driving in Tennessee after a car crash, TMZ has learned.
Authorities tell us ... Colin was taken into custody early Friday after highway patrol responded to a single-vehicle crash on I-840 East near the 37-mile marker in Williamson County, which is just outside of Nashville.

Colin was arrested and charged with DUI, underage consumption of alcohol, and failure to exercise due care, TMZ is told. It was not clear if he suffered any injuries in the crash, but he was taken to the hospital and cleared before he was booked. He has since bailed out.

Several of the late Gene Hackman's items were taken during a search after the bodies of him and his wife were found in their New Mexico home ... and TMZ has obtained the full list.
According to police documents ... deputies who conducted the search at the home took a thyroid medication, Tylenol and Diltiazem -- a calcium-blocker used to treat high blood pressure and other heart-related issues.
Cops also took records from MyQuest -- a healthcare website used to check test results, schedule appointments and keep track of one's health history. A 2025 calendar and two cell phones were also taken.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department held a news conference to give an update on the investigation into the deaths of legendary actor Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, this afternoon -- and, it sounds like Gene was dead in the New Mexico home for a week and a half before he was found.
Sheriff Adan Mendoza led the news conference as deputies continue to look into the deaths they labeled "suspicious" in a department application for a search warrant this week.
During the press conference, Mendoza says Hackman's pacemaker shows its last event on February 17 -- indicating that's when it stopped and when he died. Mendoza said autopsies and toxicology reports were pending, but he said both individuals tested negative for carbon monoxide, according to the medical examiner.

Santa Fe Fire Chief Brian Moya tells TMZ paramedics responded to a "man down" call from Gene's address Wednesday with a fire engine and an ambulance, and rushed in through the unlocked front door -- with sheriff's deputies arriving later.
Moya tells us they found Betsy right away, on the floor of a bathroom near the front door. Their team is trained to spot obvious signs of death, and it was clear Betsy had passed -- so no resuscitation efforts were made.

Gene Hackman's two dogs that were found alive when authorities searched his home are safe and in the care of local officials.
According to a sheriff's press release, Santa Fe County Animal Control is reportedly working with Hackman’s family to “ensure the safety of the two dogs.”
Gene and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, had three dogs -- one of which was found dead by deputies inside a bathroom closet. The German Shepherd was lying 10-15 feet away from Arakawa, who was also found deceased on the bathroom floor -- with prescription pills scattered nearby.

Check out the video ... the incident went down on January 26 when Matthew Huttle was pulled over by a deputy in Jasper County, Indiana, for going 70 MPH in a 55 MPH zone, according to law enforcement.
The Jasper County Sheriff's deputy gets out of his patrol vehicle and approaches Huttle, who emerges from his SUV. The deputy explains to Huttle that he's a "habitual traffic violator with a suspended license" and is going to be arrested after his speeding infraction.

We've obtained the audio of the 911 call that led to police discovering the bodies of Hackman and Betsy Arakawa ... and, an unnamed caretaker of the area can be heard frantically pleading for the dispatcher to send someone to the house.
The call starts with the caretaker, whose name is redacted, saying he believes they've just stumbled across one or two dead bodies -- he seems unsure at the time of the call -- and they need immediate assistance.

Sheriff Adan Mendoza tells TMZ ... his deputies responded Wednesday to the compound of Hackman and Arakawa after receiving a call ... and they initially entered the house only to find the bodies of the couple and one of their 3 dogs -- 2 others survived.
Once they found the corpses, Mendoza says, the deputies backed out of the house and applied for a warrant to conduct a more thorough search.

The cop claims Wilhoite bumped his chest into him, causing him to step backward. The cop says he then shoved Wilhoite ... who responded by punching him in the right side of the face with a closed left fist, forcing him to the ground.
