This is so sad that wrestlers are dying so young, but thier legends will live forever.R.I.P Luna.As for you morons that say steroids the minute an in shape person dies, get a clue. You don't need steroids to get big and muscular. It's called working out hours at a time.Try it instead of sitting on your fat asses. You'll see.. you actually get big lifting weights

I remember seeing Luna in person and fell in love with her hair style. I still shave and style my hair the same way today.

As for a cause of death, I would assume it was a form of suicide because her home recently burnt down with everything that she ever own. She doesn't wrestle anymore, but her and her husband owned a tow truck company. I know that she was asking fans that if they had any memoribilia (*sp) having to do with her, if they would send it to her because she really missed having them.

You don't die while taking steroids... you die from the damage it causes over time to your heart tissue and other organs. Go through the list of all the wrestlers who have died in the past 5-6 years (a big list) and 90% of them died of heart disease in that 35-45 year old range.

Luna had gone to driving a hauling truck. She said she liked to know by the dirt under her fingernails at the end of the day that she had done an honest day's work. She was, in real life, actually a very nice person.

First: Dear Luna, may you rest in peace and your loved ones be supported during this very difficult time.

I accept and appreciate that some on this thread are upset that some people are being mean-spirited in their comments.

But there are three main legitimate points that are getting mixed up here. 1) "People who say mean stuff about just-passed people are sick." I agree. 2) Is it socially acceptable to discuss the possible cause of death of a recently passed person when that information has not been released? Some apparently think it isn't. Personally I think it is natural and fine if done in a respectful manner. 3) Lastly, is it intelligent or is it "retarded" to theorize that there is a good possibility that steroids "played some role" in Gertrude "Luna" Vachon's premature death?

Known facts: 1) According to an article in SLAM! Wrestling, Vachon revealed that she was bi-polar and medically diagnosed as being manic depressive and that those close to her knew that when she said her catchphrase, “Lunacy has its privileges,” it was based on more than just her performing as an entertainer. 2) Steroids are known to have negative effects on mood disorders. 3) Luna was super pumped up until at least late in her 30s (see above picture) and steroid use is common among WWE performers.

Finding meaning and lesssons when a person passes away too early in life is a respectful thing to do. And in Gertrude Vachon's passing I for one am hopeful that somewhere in the world at least a few young people will alter their behavior and goals in life when it comes to using steroids. Maybe you disagree with whether it is too soon to make these comments, but "retarded" they aren't.

Luna Vachon was a lady who established herself as a great performer from a famous wrestling family in a male dominated profession. She will always be remembered. Also, with respect to that first posted comment just remember that regardless of what issues we did or did not have with a person in life no longer matters in death because, you no longer will be bothered by them. It is best to just be respectful and let the past go.

people have no idea what kind of lives pro wrestlers live. i did some ametuer wrestling when i was younger and it was very hard on my body. unlike the wwe this was a local fereration run by some friends of mine. our ring didnt give as the ones wwe uses but we only had to do 1 show a week, we did have the option to say "i cant go on tonight. still too sore from last week", slept in our own beds every night and we didnt have rigerous workout schedules. i cant imagine how hard a life it is being pro. thanks luna and girl you r.i.p.

Congress investigated baseball, it should be investigating the WWE

I don't think it's gonna take a coroner to figure this one out. Hmmm let's see, many years of taking testosterone, human growth hormone, etc.... Ya think it may have taken a toll?

Wow. It seems as if the average life expectancy of a WWE wrestler is about 40, if they're lucky. I guess the unifying factor would be steroids, or past steroid use.

I can Not believe the amount for people assuming Luna was the woman you see in the pictures. In person she was NOTHING like what she was in the ring!! To suggest & assume is just that being an A.. She could not be any sweeter or a more beautiful person. She was actually soft spoken, a born again christian, a mother, a daughter , a FRIEND!! She was divorced, worked for a towing company & suffered her entire life with manic depression & bipolar. She grew up in the wrestling community along with her Father & Aunt. Her family was wrestling!! To say negative things at this time is just inappropriate, ignorant, & disrespectful..You should all remember her for the ENTERTAINMENT she gave you, & realize behind the persona's of a wrestler is a person. Rough lives, brushed & battered bodies and souls for your ENTERTAINMENT at what cost!! She loved what she did & payed the ultimate sacrifice! Not steroids or drugs but a broken heart & soul. So misunderstood except but a few!! R.I.P. Luna You will ALWAYS be loved and Remembered!!

Luna did NOT pass from Steroids!! I knew her personally .. She was a troubled soul but a beautiful person inside & out!! She showed you what she wanted you to see!! To say it was Steroids or Pain Killers is a disgrace!!
