Tarantino Sues

Exotic Birds Are Driving Me INSANE

3/10/2011 10:00 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Quentin Tarantino is going to WAR with his famous neighbor -- claiming the guy owns a ton of exotic birds that constantly emit "blood-curdling screams" ... and it's affecting Q's ability to write scripts!

Ironically, the guy Tarantino is feuding with is another Academy Award winning writer -- Alan Ball -- the guy who wrote "American Beauty" and created "True Blood."

According to Quentin's lawsuit, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, Tarantino claims ever since Ball installed an "exotic bird menagerie" -- Quentin has been forced to endure the "obnoxious pteradactyl-like screams" of the macaw birds.

In fact, Q claims the noise has "seriously disrupted [his] ability to work as a writer in his home."

Tarantino says he tried to amicably resolve the matter with Ball -- but Alan has "done little to eliminate the macaws' daily cacophony" ... so he wants the judge to force Ball to silence them once and for all.

I can sympathize with Quentin! My neighbor had only ONE exotic bird, and kept it outside and that effing bird never shut up! They can be extremely loud. That bird almost drove me to murder, so I know what Q must be going through listening to many birds. Those birds really can drive you out of your mind.

With the crap Tarantino writes you'd think the blood curdling screams would only enhance his creativity :P

He should use this for fuel and write a really cool violent movie about killing birds.

I sympathize with QT. I live two floors above a guy with one of these birds who brings it out on his balcony -EARLY on Saturday mornings. A-Hole. It is hell! Sounds like an 80 year-old woman shreaking at the top of her lungs. Why a person with a condo would want to keep a bird in captivity like that is beyond me. I finally videotaped it (with my windows actually closed) and sent a copy of the vid to the homeowners association. All is quiet now.

i think if there loud and annoying well then he should talk to him about soundproofing if he didnt,i mean what i wanna know is ,no disrespect to q.t,but i wanna know how much did he talk to alan ball to resolve this ,i mean was it a dinner meeting ,or what,i mean he needs to talk about soundproofing,i dont know i got a soft spot for animals ,i wouldnt want someone to lose a pet but q.t seeming being a intelligent guy should see about soundproofing as a way out,not paying for it of course,i think alan ball should

Some of these comments are incredible. Why anyone would defend noise pollution is beyond me and with such ugliness..."get over it" There are billions of people on the planet right now, if everyone made as much noise as they wanted, there would be no peace and quiet. Doesn't anyone put a premium on that anymore? Usually these a-hole neighbors in turn have all the peace and quiet they need but I would love to see the tables turned on them. And when it comes to animals being noisy, like dogs and as someone wrote earlier Macaws, it's usually when they are neglected that they make such noise. So if you don't put any value on human peace and quiet, at least speak up to your neighbor to prevent animal abuse and neglect which is very common. If anyone needs help with a complaint letter,
