NFL Star Jason Babin

ALL My Stuff Was Stolen ...

Including My Shotguns!

10/9/2011 12:50 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

1008_jason_babin_ex
Jason Babin of the Philadelphia Eagles is living in an empty home -- because all of his family's belongings were jacked from storage ... including eight hunting shotguns worth around $12,000.

Babin tells TMZ he hired Houston Movers R' Us to move his family from Texas to Philadelphia back in August -- and asked them to put everything in storage until he found a home (this is his first season in Philly).

According to Babin, when he called the company a few weeks ago to send his stuff they gave him the run around ... before finally admitting his possessions were lost in a robbery.

Babin says NFL Security followed up with Houston PD ... and confirmed a police report was filed which included the serial numbers for his missing guns.

Babin claims the moving company is now refusing his calls and giving him fake phone numbers. TMZ made several calls to Houston Movers R' Us ... but we haven't heard back.

The movers' contract includes a limited liability agreement -- though it's unclear if it covers Babin's losses. He says he's flying back to Texas in a couple of weeks to sort it all out.

Were there any "rappers" working for the moving company?
Rappers like guns.

Probably when you see "R Us" in a company's title, you might want to rethink.

I can empathize. I had priceless mementos stolen when I moved. I feel sorry for the man who stole them. He may not know the difference between right and wrong.
He couldn't have known that the mementos were irreplacable!

He should have kept things that mean the most somewhere safer then movers r' us. Philly fans aren't really happy with their sport teams right now. Their ready to burn the city down so this doesn't surprise me.

Yeah, the movers stole your stuff, dude. A shame you can't trust a lot of people to do good work these days. Next life lesson: Don't let carpenters work in your home without you being there.

Thieves R Us. Too bad, he did a nice thing by using a local Ma and Pa company. Now I bet he wishes he used Mayflower or another "big name" company.

Well, on the positive side, it's refreshing to see a sports player in the news for something other than being incarcerated for drugs, beating their baby momma or just basic thuggery! Sorry dude, sucks to have your **** jacked, I empathize totally. But, I NEVER trust moving companies, they are biggest sheisters out there. If their not stealing your stuff, they're scamming you in another way to get more money out of you than what they "quoted" you. Y'all take a look at the movers face when you just say "thanks and goodbye" without offering a tip. You better hope all your stuff is in your possession and safely in your house.....

As a veteran of many state to state moves (oil company moves), I totally empathize with your situation. Moving companies, like other businesses, the old saying always applies, you get what you pay for. I hope you had the presence of mind to have insurance for your goods. Stick with the major movers, and stay away from R US's. Except for Toys and Babies r us, they're great...

There is no such thing as an honest moving company. Unless you physically watch everything from start to finish you will be ripped off. If your stuff isn't stolen you are overcharges based on "weight" from a phony scale. Do yourself a favor, either get friends to help and do it yourself or hire a moving supervisor you trust to watch whoever you hire. ALL MOVERS ARE CROOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jason's house in Texas is just down the street from me (and for sale) and he was always nice to us and the neighbors. He had an amazing yard...bought the lot next to his and turned it into a playground on the lake. I hope he gets his items back because he is a nice guy and a good friend of the neighborhood.

Houston Movers R'obbed Us, might be a better name for this company. Funny how people with really nice stuff get their possessions stolen while in storage.

I wouldn't think the moving company could report the guns stolen without his knowledge. The guns should have been registered to him, he should have been notified at the very least. My husband had a gun stolen once and it was a whole ordeal hammering it out. We had to fill out all this paperwork and meet with detectives. They even took pictures we had of the gun in case the serial numbers were grinded off at some point.

Typical SHADY moving company. Be very careful using moving companies. Most of them are crooks. Sort of like our government.
