Justin Bieber

1/31/2014 6:45 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has obtained GPS records from the rented Lambo Justin Bieber was driving when he was arrested for DUI ... and there is NO evidence of drag racing.

TMZ broke the story ... Miami Beach cops claimed they noticed Bieber and his buddy Khalil (who drove a red Ferrari) drag racing and that's why they were stopped.  Cops claimed they were going between 55 and 60 MPH.

But the GPS on Justin's car records speed when the car accelerates quickly.  Take a look at the read-out.  At 4:07 AM Justin left the club and zoomed away ... reaching a maximum speed of 44 MPH.  Two minutes later the GPS registered at a max speed of 27 MPH.

Here's why the read-out is so significant.   Cops claim they noticed the drag race on the 2600 block of Pine Tree Drive.  Bieber came to a stop and was then arrested on the 4100 block.  The 27 MPH read out is on the 3700 block ... smack in the middle of the supposed drag race.  Mind you ... 27 MPH is UNDER the 30 MPH speed limit.

If Justin had been racing ... the GPS would have recorded a higher speed.  Yet the maximum speed on Pine Tree was 27 MPH.

Now check this out.  The cops say 2 Escalades were stopped on Pine Tree to block traffic so Bieber and his buddy could drag race.  We obtained the GPS for one of the Escalades (below) which shows at 2:35 AM the SUV stopped -- and that's when Bieber's dad (who was in the Escalade) went inside the nightclub with his son.  They were there for 1.2 hours.
At 4:06 AM the Escalade started rolling and it didn't stop again until Bieber was pulled over.  So it never stopped to accommodate a so-called drag race.

This could present huge problems for prosecutors, because if the pretext of stopping Bieber's car proves false, it could derail the case.  Which is probably why TMZ's videos of Justin's cars were subpoenaed.  Problem is ... the videos don't show drag racing either.

Considering the paper says escalade says it all. With all the pictures I've seen it looked like he was pulled over in a sport car with a hooker in the passenger seat.

Not buying it. Even if it where true there where other factors leading to his arrest.

TMZ said: The GPS clocked both cars at 27 MPH at the 3500 block of Pine Tree Drive.

Police Report said: Cop noticed the "drag race" on the 260......0 block of Pine Tree Drive.

I ask: What did the GPS speed register in the 9 blocks between the 260......0 block & the 3500 block?

TMZ said: Cops pursued the cars for 15 blocks.
Police Report said: The cop stopped the red car at the 4100 block.

I ask: Why did it take the cops 15 blocks to catch up with the 2 cars if the 2 cars were driving less than 30 mph for 15 blocks?
The GPS report from the Lambo and Escalade that TMZ has posted are worthless.

HAHAHA. TMZ....Bunch of idiots. Apparently they don't know how it all works....drag racing and these readings. A drag race can be over in 20 seconds or less, and these cars could reach incredible speeds in that time. The gaps between these times stamps...come on TMZ...dont be stupid. It's VERY VERY possible for there to have been a drag race during that time. And it records every few minutes and takes an average speed...very possible for them to hit 60 mph, complete their drag race, and then have the speed go down and the reading give an average of only 30 or 44mph.

Is nobody else bothered by the fact that there's a big 2 minute gap there? And that actually...the GPS tracking will only record every few minutes or in that 2 minute gap he could have EASILY hit the 60mph speeds cops said they saw him driving at. And then once his speed drops back down after about 15 seconds, the average speed would record lower. Oh, and how about the fact that for the escalade it says it was driving at 30mph...and went 1.3 miles in 0 seconds.....? Further proves that these tracking systems only record every few minutes and take an average speed. SORRY TMZ! BUT CHANCES ARE THAT HE...WAS DRAG RACING! Stop defending a criminal.

I'm no Beiber fan, in fact, I'm the furthest thing from it. But as many of you point out that the GPS records only periodic measurements and paints a partial picture of the timeframe around "the race," you forget the most important part when it comes to prosecuting the kid. It's the fact that the GPS creates a lot of "Reasonable Doubt"...the one thing that will allow the little bastard to be found not guilty. So all of you armchair lawyers calm down and quit acting like it's TMZ's fault that you are wrong.

And as far as defending a "criminal" goes, let me remind you all that "Even a Werewolf is entitled to legal counsel!" -Oscar Zeta Acosta

Thats neat that they can do that. This could solve a whole lot of inaccurate police records. We all know those police officers just had it out for him. Justin Bieber can come live in my town. Lol

If you notice the GPS report updates every 2 minutes, a lot can happen in 2 minutes. Report means nothing.

You know, I'm no Justin Beiber fan, but common people, he's a 19 year old kid with oodles of cash. Guess what? He's behaving like a 19 year old kid with oodles of cash. Why do people have to make him seem like such a threat to society? Hes not. Just a little bit of a knucklehead that he will probably grow out of. And somkin' pot? WHO CARES. Alcohol is WAY worse and he was NOT drunk. Also looks like he was NOT drag racing. Also looks like he's taking Xanex for anxiety. Gee wonder where the anxiety is coming from? I don't know... maybe the world hating on him for being a rich kid? I feel bad for him. His youthful mistakes are being blown way out of proportion. He's just an idiot 19 year old. Still has a ton of growing up to do. I'm more inclined to believe that Miami Police are the *******s here...

TMZ does it again. I'm referring to misleading, of course. One solid look at the picture disproves anything TMZ wrote in the article, as well as the fact that no source was listed for the records. The police haven't released them and, as far as I know, this reporter wasn't able to just walk up to his car and take it.

Humans do make mistakes, but they go to jail for them, teenagers are naive and the go to jail too or juvi but he's over 18 so jail for him. Y'all say "oh he's just being a teenager." I'm a teenager and I don't do that ****, my friends are teenagers and we don't put peoples lives in danger. Teenagers face consequences just like adults. He needs to leave.
