D4vd's new attorney is making moves for a face-to-face conversation with Celeste Rivas' alleged murderer, TMZ has learned.

According to court docs obtained by TMZ, the public defender recently assigned to D4vd's case asked the judge to facilitate an in-person meeting in a private area of the L.A. jail where the singer is locked up.

The public defender explained that in order to provide D4vd with effective assistance of counsel, he needs to review all the evidence against him, including social media evidence and possibly video evidence.

9/21/2026 9:03 AM PT -- The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has released a statement regarding Presley Gerber's death saying ... “The investigation is still ongoing and there is limited information available,” the statement continued. “Death was pronounced at 09:45 hours on September 20, 2026, by responding paramedics. The Santa Monica Police Department is the investigating law enforcement agency.”

9/21/2026 8:20 AM PT -- Sources tell TMZ ... Presley Gerber died of suspected overdose.

Presley Gerber, the son of Cindy Crawford, has died at 27 ... TMZ has learned.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Presley died Sunday at a rehab facility. An autopsy has yet to be completed.

When reached for comment on Presley's passing, a rep for Cindy, her husband Rande Gerber, and their daughter Kaia Gerber confirmed to TMZ that Presley passed away earlier today. The rep says, "The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time."

Rita Wilson is turning heads with a side of herself fans don't usually see ... showing off a giant tattoo covering much of her back.

The actress and singer posted a photo Saturday revealing a massive cross tattoo stretching down her back, along with additional ink on her arm.

Melissa McCarthy says playing JonBenét Ramsey's mother in a true crime drama forced her to make up her own mind about the murder ... and she doesn't believe anyone in the family did it.

The actress plays Patsy Ramsey in Netflix's upcoming "The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey" ... and she tells Variety she developed a lot of compassion for the family while working on the project.

Melissa says the case became something people treated almost like a sport ... with everyone offering up their own theory as if it were fact.

She says she couldn't play Patsy without deciding for herself what she believed happened.

Lindsay Clancy's lawyer, Kevin Reddington, is asking the court to allow for a thorough investigation of the holdout juror ... including access to his phone records and a review of his 2021 criminal charge for allegedly assaulting his wife.

The attorney filed a document in court recently asking the judge to let his team see the confidential juror questionnaire and "Juror Doe's record from the statewide domestic violence registry."

Reddington is asking for the juror's mobile phone records -- calls, texts, and data from August 27 through September 4.

Presley Gerber was living with several other people at a rehab facility when he died, and it appears he suffered a fatal overdose ... TMZ has learned.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... Presley's family has been told his death was the result of an apparent overdose. Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber's son had been staying in a separate house on the grounds of the L.A. area rehab facility.

The Medical Examiner has not determined the official cause of death yet.

Paramount was threatening to bolt California just days ago ... but now it sounds like it reached a settlement that could save its massive Warner Bros. Discovery takeover and keep the studio rooted in place.

Bloomberg reports Paramount Skydance struck a deal with California and the other states suing to block the $110 billion merger. The agreement is expected to be announced Monday.

TMZ broke the news last week ... Paramount had told California officials "we're done" and was prepared to leave the state before the two sides suddenly got back to negotiating.
