Ryan Seacrest is getting candid about the hardest part of his New Year's Eve hosting gig ... and it has everything to do with his post-ball drop meal.

We caught up with the "American Idol" host in New York City ahead of his annual stint as the host for "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" ... where he made it clear he loves leading the countdown to the new year every December 31st.

However, Ryan said there is one downside to his job -- he can't eat until 1:30 AM given his hosting responsibilities.

Linda Lavin -- best known for her lead role in the 1970s TV sitcom "Alice" -- has died, TMZ has confirmed.

The actress passed away Sunday in Los Angeles from complications of lung cancer with which she was recently diagnosed, according to her reps.

Lavin began her career in the late '60s on Broadway before heading west in the '70s to Hollywood.

Andi Dorfman was hospitalized over the weekend, just days after giving birth to her first baby after experiencing an unexpected medical emergency.

The former "Bachelorette" star posted on her Instagram Story on Saturday saying a week after giving birth to her first child with Blaine Hart, she began experiencing "a ton of pain" which later led to doctors diagnosing her with a large and small hematoma -- essentially blood that pools up someplace inside your body.

The reality star says she underwent a quick and safe procedure to handle the issue. She wrote, "Lesson Learned: No matter how clueless you are about motherhood, you still know your body best! Listen to it! Yes, recovery is tough and everyone is different but your instincts are valid (and probably right)."

The longtime studio host's family said in a statement to CBS on Friday "he passed away peacefully surrounded by much love after a courageous battle with cancer."

They added, "Greg approached his illness like one would expect he would, with stoicism, grace, and positivity. He leaves behind a legacy of love, inspiration and dedication to over 50 extraordinary years in the sports broadcast industry; and his iconic voice will never be forgotten."

Chanel Maya Banks -- the "Gossip Girl" actress who was reported missing by her family before posting a message to social media explaining she was not in fact missing -- has now filed a restraining order against her mother and cousin.

Banks filed for the restraining order Thursday ... claiming her mother, Lutchmin Judy Kumar, and cousin, Danielle Singh, have worked together to destroy her credibility and harass her.

In the document, Banks says her mom and cousin have repeatedly tried to make unwanted contact with her ... after she says she told them she wanted distance back in October. She says the pair then called Los Angeles police to report her as a missing person and had officers conduct a wellness check on her.
