Whitney Houston Water Found in Her Lungs
The autopsy of Whitney Houston revealed she did have water in her lungs when she died, but the medical examiner needs to determine exactly how much before they can rule whether she died as a result of drowning ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
As TMZ first reported, authorities believe Houston may have fallen asleep or lapsed into unconsciousness in the bathtub and drowned.
But according to our sources, authorities cannot yet determine whether Houston died before she was submerged in the water or after. We're told there is still a possibility Houston was dead before she went under the water.
Toxicology results will be back in 4-6 weeks.

Bobby Brown Skipping Concert to Be with Bobbi Kristina
With the death of ex-wife Whitney Houston, and his daughter Bobbi Kristina in the hospital, sources close to Bobby Brown tell TMZ he is on his way to Los Angeles be with his daughter ... and skipping a concert to do so.
According to our sources, Bobbi Kristina has not been alone since her mother passed -- she's had Bobby's family by her side the entire time.
New Edition has a concert tonight in Nashville, but we're told Bobby will skip the show so he can get to Los Angeles to be with Bobbi Kristina. Brown was spotted at the airport in Nashville with an entourage of people by his side (see photo above).
As TMZ first reported, Bobbi Kristina has been in the hospital twice since Whitney passed away.

Whitney Houston Autopsy Completed, Results Pending Toxicology
The autopsy of Whitney Houston is complete, TMZ has learned, but the results will be deferred pending a toxicology report.
According to our sources, a cause of death cannot be determined until the toxicology results ... which typically takes 4-6 weeks.
A coroner's spokesman says the results are on a security hold, which just means nothing is being released at this time.
As TMZ first reported ... although the cause of death is unknown, it is increasingly looking like Whitney may have fallen asleep or lapsed into unconsciousness in the bathtub and drowned.
We're told Whitney had been drinking the night before and authorities believe a combination of Xanax and alcohol could have fatally sedated her -- although our sources say it is simply too early to draw any firm conclusions.
A rep for the Beverly Hills PD just announced during a news conference -- the preliminary investigation is nearly complete ... pending final results from the L.A. Coroner's Office.

According to our sources, Bobbi Kristina went to the hospital last night as well, but was not transported via ambulance. We're told she was "hysterical, exhausted and inconsolable."
As TMZ first reported, Bobbi Kristina got into an angry shouting match last night with police officers outside the hotel room where her mother was found dead.
5:19 PM PT -- Despite reports saying she had checked out hours ago, our spies just spotted Bobbi Kristina leaving the hospital.

Ray J Rushed to Whitney's Hotel, But Turned Away by Cops
Ray J was home when he got the word Whitney Houston had died last night, but he was turned away by law enforcement at the hotel after he raced over to try and see her ... TMZ has learned.
Sources close to Ray J tell TMZ he went straight to the Beverly Hilton to try and see Houston as soon as he got the call that she had passed away. He had not been with Houston at all that day or the night before.
We're told when he arrived, law enforcement turned him away just as they did Bobbi Kristina. Ray J can be seen in the photo above, moments after, outside Whitney's room on the 4th floor.
According to our sources, Ray J is "crushed" by Whitney's passing.

Bobby Brown Declares Love for Whitney on Stage Hours After Her Death
Bobby Brown said it was difficult for him to take the stage with New Edition last night, but just hours after learning of the death of his ex-wife Whitney Houston ... he did it for his loyal fans.
As TMZ previously reported, Brown was having "crying fits" upon learning of Whitney's passing. But Brown and the rest of the group performed in Mississippi last night, with Brown pointing to the sky and saying, "I love you, Whitney."
New Edition released a statement yesterday supporting Brown, which said in part, "We are absolutely shocked and saddened by the sudden and untimely death of our dear sister Whitney. As a group, we are extremely close; when one of us hurts, we all hurt."

Whitney Houston Found Underwater
Whitney Houston was found in the bathtub of a Beverly Hills hotel yesterday ... with her face underwater ... people close to Whitney tell TMZ.
According to our sources, her stylist, hairdresser and two bodyguards were among the people in the room at the time. We're told they became worried about Whitney because she had been in the bathroom for over an hour and it was time to start getting ready for the Clive Davis party.
Our sources say they began to knock on the door and there was no answer. We're told the hairdresser, who is female, went in to check on Whitney. She immediately screamed and, according to our sources, one of the bodyguards came running in and pulled her out of the tub.
We're told Whitney's face was below the water and her legs were up ... like she had slid down the back of the tub.
According to our sources, her body was very cold and the bodyguard attempted CPR. That's when hotel security was called.
Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter, but Whitney was pronounced dead at 3:55 PM.

People close to Whitney Houston were aware she was taking Xanax -- and according to our sources, she told them she always took it before big performances ... like the pre-Grammy party she was scheduled to perform at last night.
We're told Whitney believed the Xanax helped calm her nerves before going out in front of people. According to our sources, Whitney claimed to have anxiety and panic attacks and the pills helped her relax before taking the stage.
Our sources say the people inside of Whitney's hotel room when she died were aware Whitney would take Xanax before shows. We're told those people never saw Whitney take any pills, she would just tell them she did. They are unaware how many she would take or if she took any other drugs.
According to our sources, Whitney did not mention taking Xanax yesterday.
Our sources say Whitney had been in a good mood all day and was excited to be performing that evening.

No illegal drugs have been found in the hotel room where Whitney Houston died -- at least not yet -- but prescription drugs were present, and it's possible the singer drowned in the bathtub ... TMZ has learned.
Sources tell us ... when EMTs arrived Whitney's body was already removed from the bathtub so it will take an autopsy to determine if she OD'd, drowned or died from some other cause.
Informed sources tell us ... Beverly Hills cops -- who were still searching the room at the time this story was posted -- found various pill bottles. There was no evidence that Whitney was drinking alcohol in the room.
Whitney's body was just removed from the room on a gurney. It will go to the morgue for an autopsy to determine cause of death.

Houston had one child, Bobbi Kristina, with husband Bobby Brown. Houston and Brown were married from 1992-2007.
Sources tell TMZ, Whitney Houston "partied heavily" last night at the Beverly HIlton hotel where she was staying, drinking and chatting loudly with friends in the bar -- but Cissy Houston and Dionne Warwick claim the singer sounded fine just hours before her death.
We're told Bobby Brown is distraught over Whitney's death -- going "in and out of crying fits." His band New Edition tells us, they are "shocked and saddened."
Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party -- which Whitney was supposed to open -- is going on as scheduled this evening, though Clive will not be in attendance.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, police are currently seeking a search warrant to investigate the hotel room where Whitney was found dead. One item they'll be looking out for -- drugs.

In one of the final candid videos of Whitney Houston, the legendary singer ran into El Debarge at a nightclub in Hollywood ... and the two shared a very touching embrace.
