Aaron Hernandez

Cops Have NOT Named Him as 'Suspect' In Shooting

... Yet

6/19/2013 2:30 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0619-aaron-hernandez-gettyNFL star Aaron Hernandez has NOT been identified as a suspect in the shooting of Alexander S. Bradley ... but that could change ... cops tell TMZ.

We broke the story ... Hernandez has been sued by Bradley, who claims the New England Patriots tight end shot him in the face and left him to die back in February.

Cops tell TMZ ... ever since the incident, Bradley has been extremely uncooperative with investigators -- and has refused to identify his assailant ... until he pointed the finger at Hernandez in his lawsuit, which he filed last week.

So what does it mean for the investigation? The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Dept. tells us ... it doesn't mean much.

In fact, we're told cops have no plans to meet with Hernandez ... and have neither named him a suspect nor a person of interest in the shooting.

And why not? With an uncooperative witness and no hard evidence ... it's a safe bet investigators don't feel they have a strong enough case to go after the NFL star.

Of course, plans could change ... but for now, it seems unlikely Hernandez will be prosecuted.

Probable cause shows Aaron name is being used in the civil suit by the victim. What more does the DA need? Get the psycho off the streets.

As long as Hernandez keeps the hush money flowing to his victim, that bird won't sing.

As an avid NE Patriots fan, I am pi$$ed that this guy has gone off the rails! He is such a talented football player, but if he is involved in all this, including a murder, he belongs in jail, NOT the NFL!!!

Well, the police are not going to show their hand. Yeah, right, they do not suspect Hernandez at all.

Confused? I was until I went back and re-read the news items about Aaron Hernandez that I saw this morning. A body was found about a mile from Hernandez's home. The person has now been identified as 27 y/o Odin Lloyd. Lloyd was a member of the semi-pro Boston Bandits.

At first I thought Bradley was the deceased person they had found this morning. The murdered person found close to Hernandez's home is why they were there today searching and looking at a rental vehicle that was in the driveway.

When I read the article, I thought Bradley was the person they found dead about a mile from Hernandez' house.

I do not expect police to give much information in either case. It is very odd Bradley will not talk to police but files a civil suit. Maybe Bradley thinks he can get money via the civil trial and does not want to go through a criminal trial or he is hoping Hernandez will settle without a trial. Hmmmmmm.

I guess it is wait and see how all of this washes out.
