Lamar Odom

Drug of Choice

8/25/2013 9:00 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Lamar Odom has been deep into crack cocaine for at least 2 years ... TMZ has learned.

TMZ broke the story ... Lamar has gone off the rails with drug use ... which is the principal cause of the crisis in his marriage to Khloe Kardashian.  As we reported Lamar went to a rehab facility a year ago this month and stayed for 3 weeks before bailing -- and we're told the problem was crack.

Sources say Lamar's crack use was extreme before he went to rehab, but he cleaned up his act during the basketball season that just ended.  Sources say shortly after he hung up his jersey, he started again with a bang.

As we reported ... Khloe threw Lamar out of the house a few days ago after he rejected an attempt at an intervention.

It's unclear how Lamar's problem will affect his basketball career.

We made calls to Lamar's reps.  So far, no comment.

Let's see...

Stick with the Kardashians or stick with the Krack Kocaine.

Uncle Fred would choose the drugs and consider myself lucky.

Thank you

I cannot wait until someone does this kind of smear job on the Kardashians. I know one thing: It sure as hell won't be TMZ, though.

To those who are curious - rule of thumb is that cocaine will show up in a urine test for 3 days and up to 10 days for long time users.

I'd do worse than crack if I was stuck with a Kartrashian

how sad! I hope he can get help with all his demons. Out of all the Kardashian's, Khloe is the only one I like.

oh boy, let the smear campaign begin. Now that they have quit denying problems they will start to have tmz leaks to set lamar up as the bad guy. Enter Momager Kris to paint him the villain. Maybe living with the Kraptrashians was too much to take sober.

I don't believe this...they are drug tested in the NBA. Crack isn't something you just stop and start at will.

Amazing how someone can throw away such a lucrative career let alone one's life for the sake of getting high..Better to get addicted to chocolate milk shakes than crack...Of course, it involves the Kardashians so can't really blame him...

So your "sources" a.k.a those close to the Kardashian family are going to begin a smear campaign against Odom now that it is known he cheated. Hmm...am I the only one who finds the timing of this "story" very very interesting?

TMZ , as directed by Kris Jenner, has slandered Lamar Odom and threatened his career in a futile attempt to help their image during Kris's crucial Talk show evaluation period. Remember, the network is still deciding whether or not to pick up her show. Surely, they don't expect intelligent people to believe that Lamar was using crack cocaine WHILE actively playing in the NBA. Physically, how does someone accomplish that feat? How does the drug remain undetected in his system for 2 years worth of drug testing? Hire a good lawyer, Lamar, and sue the whole lot of them -- from Harvey and Kris to the family pets and the youngest girls. Tomfoolery!

Is it me or anyone that dates a Kardashian has bad luck!

It IS possible he was using while playing in the NBA.. Look at Chris Herren. He was an active heroin addict and still played. Drugs affect everyone differently.

I'm not surprised. SMH. His lips always looked ashy like they were wrapped around a crack pipe.
