Paul Walker's Will

$25 Million Estate

Curious Language

EXCLUSIVE

Paul Walker was worth $25 million when he died and there seems to be some possibility of a family conflict ... this, based on new documents obtained by TMZ.

We've obtained a copy of Paul Walker's will. Walker left his entire estate -- $25 mil -- to his 15-year-old daughter Meadow.

Paul's dad -- the named executor -- filed Paul's will with the court.  Paul's dad has petitioned the court to appoint Paul's mother -- Cheryl -- guardian of Meadow.  What's more, Paul's dad wants Cheryl to be the guardian of the $25 mil. This is exactly what Paul wanted under the will.

Now Meadow lives with her mom, Rebecca Soteros. If Paul gets his last wish, grandma will become Meadow's guardian. It's unclear if Rebecca approves, but it's definitely strange that Paul wanted his mom to be guardian since Meadow lives with Rebecca.

A court hearing is scheduled for later this month.

Wow ...

Well that is just stupid, unless there is a reason - like the mother is unfit. BUT, he should have dealt with that when he was alive. The daughter, being next of kin, is his only heir - no need to fight in court.

The aspect of the will that Paul wants his mother to be guardian has little chance of happening. When one parent dies, the other parent is the de facto guardian.
Unless Paul's father can show that Rebecca is unfit, the best they can hope for is that visitation be ordered.
Cheryl, the grandmother, will still hold the purse strings though.

RIP Paul Walker, and thank you for having a money grubbing family so we didn't have another story every 10 minutes about Philip Seymour Hoffman.

He left the entire 25 million to his 15 year old daughter with no instructions? If his ex gets custody, which is likely, unless provisions were made for yearly disbursements to his daughter, mother and daughter will get the 25 million and mom is basically free to do as she pleases until daughter hits 18. Sounds like it might be poor estate planning.

There seems to be some confusion here -a person in their Will can name a guardian for their child and can also name a guardian for their Estate /money....it's not unusal at all nor does it suggest anything negative about the mother ...

Just My Opinion

If he wanted it all to go to his daughter, than she should get it. That is his wish, and that is why we have wills to start with. Her being under 18, makes that heard, but her dad made that money, not family members. People need to remember, just because you are family, does not give you the right to tell others what they should do with their money they made, or think it's all yours, when someone passes away.

I liked Paul as an actor but did not follow him on the celeb gossip sites like this one. Still, I remember when he died there were stories that he had just taken over custody of his daughter (per TMZ). Perhaps there was some conflict? No need to give her mother any control over the money. Put it in a trust for Meadow, let the adults earn their own way.

There seems to be some confusion here -a person in their Will can name a guardian for their child and can also name the same person or someone else as guardian for their Estate /money....it's not unusual at all nor does it suggest anything negative about the mother ...

A guardian of an Estate is different from a guardian of the person.
