Charlie Kirk Murder Suspect Confession To Be Shown In Court ... Watch The Live Stream
Update
11:30 AM PT -- The court is currently on a one-hour lunch break.
10:29 AM PT -- Tyler Robinson said he regretted killing Charlie Kirk, even crying in the aftermath of the controversial commentator's shocking death ... according to Robinson's romantic partner, Lance Twiggs.
After 4 days of arguing in court, a Utah judge has ruled that confessional videos of Charlie Kirk's alleged assassin -- 23-year-old Tyler Robinson -- as well as alleged text messages, will be shown publicly today ... and TMZ is streaming live from the courtroom where the exhibits will be shown.
While some video will be redacted ... the public will now be privy to what Tyler admitted to police upon arrest ... as well as what his roommate -- Lance Twiggs -- said in an interview.
The ruling comes after Charlie's widow, Erika Kirk, urged the court to make the evidence public.
Erika argued that withholding exhibits from those in the courtroom prevented her, Charlie's parents and the public from fully observing the preliminary hearing, and said the lack of transparency has only fueled conspiracy theories surrounding her husband's assassination. She asked the judge to allow all admitted exhibits to be displayed publicly going forward.
Ultimately, the judge sided with prosecutors and rejected Robinson's legal team's argument that making the exhibits public would violate his constitutional right to a fair trial. The defense argued Robinson has already been prejudiced because portions of the confession video circulated online before the hearing.
The judge ruled the edited confession video, text messages and other exhibits could be admitted into evidence and displayed to those in the courtroom gallery. The only exception was the final page of one exhibit containing personal identifying information, which will remain sealed.
Earlier this week, footage of Robinson surrendering to law enforcement the day after Kirk's assassination was played in court.
The court was told Robinson was arrested after authorities questioned both him and his parents.
Prosecutors allege Robinson fatally shot Kirk from a rooftop about 200 feet away while Kirk was speaking at a September 2025 event at Utah Valley University. They say DNA evidence connects Robinson to the murder weapon, though the defense has challenged the reliability of that testing.
Robinson is charged with aggravated murder and several other offenses. He has not yet entered a plea, and prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
