God works in mysterious ways -- and in the eyes of Katy Perry's parents, her recent divorce from Russell Brand is one of the ways, because God used to the divorce to fill the rafters of their church.

Pastors Keith and Mary Hudson preached to the congregation at Church On The Rise in Westlake, OH on Wednesday, says The Sun, in an appearance that was advertised by the church.

Perry's mom, Mary, speaking for the first time about the split, told parishioners, "I'm sure Katy is trending on the internet just to get you to church tonight. I mean all over the world, who knows how God is bringing them in? The most important thing is you are here and God wants to put the fire in you in 2012."

At one point, Perry's dad said, "What has taken place in my daughter's life has opened many opportunities to go in and be with guarded and gated people. God has given us a platform to go in and meet people -- and they like us because we are cool. We are not threatening."

According to the paper, a video was shown beforehand that featured the Hudsons at award shows with Katy. The Hudsons are scheduled to appear tomorrow at a church in Georgia and the video below is on the church's site promoting the appearance.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand have agreed ... Katy will stay in the couple's $6.5 million Hollywood Hills mansion and Russell will move out ... TMZ has learned.

Sources close to the couple tell us ... the moving process is already under way and most of Russell's stuff is already out of the home.

We're told ... the two are on reasonably good terms with each other, considering they just broke up ... and the decision over the house went pretty smoothly.

Hayden Panettiere's mother has filed for divorce ... 3 years after her husband pled no contest to battering her.

Lesley Panettiere cited irreconcilable differences in her divorce petition, filed in L.A. County Superior Court.

The couple made headlines in August, 2008, after Alan was charged for striking Lesley in the face. He pled no contest to misdemeanor battery and was placed on 24 months probation.

Here's what's interesting ... Lesley lists the date of separation as July 15, 2008, which is a month prior to the incident that led to his battery conviction.

Lesley is asking for spousal support.

The moving pods were out at Katy Perry and Russell Brand's home in the Hollywood Hills Wednesday ... which begs the question ... who gets to stay in the house??

Katy and Russell purchased the $6.5 million, 3 acre, Sunset Strip-area estate back in June ... but just last week, the British funnyman filed for divorce ... leaving the future of the home in limbo.

Not a great time to sell real estate in L.A. ... and if they decide they want to unload the place quick, it might mean a great deal for a potential buyer.

Zooey Deschanel is worth millions, spends relatively modestly, and has a zero balance on her credit cards ... this according to documents her lawyer just filed in her divorce case.

TMZ broke the story ... Zooey just filed for divorce from her hubby of 2 years -- Ben Gibbard, the lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie.

For some reason, her lawyer attached Zooey's income and expense declaration.

Here's the lowdown:

-- Zooey -- who stars in "New Girl" -- makes an average of $95,000 a month
-- Her expenses average $22,550 a month
-- She has 3 credit cards ... AmEx, Visa and Mastercard, all of which have a 0 balance.
-- She has $1,578,000 in the bank
-- Zooey has an additional $1,645,000 in stocks, bonds, etc.
-- Zooey has real and personal property valued at $693,300

As for what she spends a month, Zooey says she drops $1,000 on groceries and household supplies, $500 eating out (really?), $800 on utilities, $300 for her various phones and email accounts, $600 in laundry and cleaning, $2,000 for clothes.

Marc Anthony wants Jennifer Lopez to know ... she ain't the only one with a hot, young plaything -- and he's got the photos to prove it.

Anthony just went to his Facebook page and posted a photo of himself gettin' all kissy kissy with a 24-year-old Venezuelan model named Shannon de Lima.

It's the first chick Marc has been romantically linked with since he split with J.Lo back in July.

Zooey Deschanel has decided to end her marriage ... two months after separating from her rock star husband Ben Gibbard ... TMZ has learned.

The "New Girl" star filed the divorce docs in L.A. County Superior Court on December 27 -- blaming the split on "irreconcilable differences."

She also lists the official date of separation as October 31 ... Halloween.

Deschanel and Gibbard -- lead singer for the band Death Cab for Cutie -- were married in 2009. They have no kids.

Frank Zappa's daughter Moon Unit Zappa -- her real name -- has filed for divorce from her husband, Matchbox Twenty guitarist Paul Doucette ... TMZ has learned.

Moon Unit filed the papers in L.A. County Superior Court last week -- seeking to end her 9-and-a-half year marriage.

Moon Unit and her husband were married in June 2002, and have one 7-year-old daughter named Mathilda Plum.

Fun facts: Moon Unit also has a laundry list of acting credits, including a recent appearance on "Grey's Anatomy." Frank's other kids are named Dweezil, Ahmet, and Diva.

Darryl Strawberry's ex-wife just suffered a massive setback in court -- after a judge ordered she can't touch $800,000 in Mets money Darryl earned in the 80s ... until the IRS gets its cut.

According to court docs, Darryl has an arrangement with the Mets, in which the ball club pays him $8,891 a month as delayed compensation for his time with the team.

According to the docs, Strawberry had earmarked $800,000 of the money specifically for his ex Charisse Strawberry as part of their divorce settlement agreement. But turns out, Darryl also allegedly owes the IRS $472,086, which creates a big problem ... who gets paid first?

Charisse had sued Darryl and the Mets earlier last year, demanding they fork over the $800,000 -- but the Mets refused, insisting its hands were tied ... because when it comes to debtors, the IRS always gets its money before anyone else.

Charisse and the Mets finally agreed last month to let the IRS take its cut first -- but since the Mets are only doling out $8,891 a month in Darryl's name ... it'll be at least until 2016 before Charisse sees a penny.

Deion Sanders swears he's still "cool" with his soon-to-be ex wife... even though his daughter SLAMMED her on Twitter ... and now the NFL great is begging his fans to "pray, pray, pray ... for Pilar."

Deion just phoned in to K104 FM in Dallas to talk about life since he filed for divorce ... and he started things off by apologizing for all of the nasty things his daughter Deiondra tweeted about Pilar last week.

"I apologize for my daughter" ... Deion said, adding, "She loves her father and she feels like I was being abused and misused and she lashed out."

In case you missed it, Deiondra called Pilar a "golddigging h*e" ... and insinuated she was screwing around with other guys behind Deion's back.

But Deion went on to explain, "The thing about it ... Pilar and I are cool, we’re cool. I mean we are cool, when I say cool, we’re cool."

Sanders also commented on the TMZ report that Pilar is still living in his insanely huge Dallas mansion ... saying, "We’re living under the same roof, that’s true ... I see her every morning. I say what’s up, what’s up girl?! It really is like that."

Maria Shriver sure knows how to ring in the new year -- just days after Arnold Schwarzenegger wore his wedding ring out in public ... his divorce-shy, estranged wife was sporting something on her wedding ring finger, though it's not clear if it's the real deal.

The photo was snapped today in Beverly Hills -- interesting she wore something on that finger just after we posted the pic of Arnold.

While in the middle of one of the nastiest divorces ever, Terrence Howard took solace in the arms of some tall, hot blonde in St. Barts this weekend.

The two were spotted getting pretty up close and personal in public ... even finding time to break out some freaky dance moves in the middle of the street.

Last month, Terrence's estranged wife Michelle filed a restraining order against Howard claiming the actor constantly beat her. Terrence has vehemently denied those allegations and has asked the court to issue a restraining order against Michelle.

Katy Perry's evangelical father has been MUZZLED ... telling photogs he's under orders to keep his mouth shut about his daughter's divorce from Russell Brand.

Perry's dad Keith Hudson was out grocery shopping in Irvine, CA Friday -- hours after Brand filed for divorce -- when he told the paps, "I can't talk ... I can't talk to you ... sorry about that."

Usher is firing back at his ex-wife -- insisting he's a good dad who deserves to see his kids ... and NEVER cancelled her Saks 5th Avenue credit card.

TMZ broke the story ... Tameka Raymond asked a Georgia court last month for full custody of their two kids -- claiming Usher has continually dropped the ball as a parent ... failing to get her permission to travel with their kids, hiring nannies without her approval ... the list goes on.

Tameka also claimed Usher callously closed her Saks 5th Avenue credit card -- and now she can't take advantage of the "special benefits" the card offers.

But Usher claims it's all BS -- filing his own response in the ongoing custody battle ... asking a judge to reject Tameka's request for full custody, on grounds her allegations are false.

Usher and Tameka currently share joint physical custody of the kids.

As TMZ previously reported, Tameka has also tried numerous times to get the judge to force Usher to submit to a drug test. So far, no luck.

Sources close to Katy Perry and Russell Brand tell TMZ ... the couple was infatuated with each other when they tied the knot, but the honeymoon ended very quickly.

According to our sources, Katy and Russell were initially head over heels for each other – each fascinated to be with someone who was an extreme opposite.

But we're told the two began a regime of constant bickering after they got married -- often in front of people at clubs and awards shows. They're both very stubborn and neither would easily back down.

Our sources tell us ... because of the friction and their schedules, they never spent long periods of time with each other.

One big bone of contention ... Russell was much more of a homebody than Katy. Katy loved going out and partying, while Russell (who is sober) didn't enjoy the scene at all. We're told he would often insist on leaving places early and asking her to come with ... which would trigger an argument.

But we're told ... as the dust settles, neither hates the other -- far from it. There's no bad blood between them, and neither of them believes the other cheated.
