The Beatles LOVE Performer's Scary Fall Caught on Vid ... Accident Stopped Show

THE STUNT GONE WRONG
TMZ.com

The Cirque du Soleil acrobat who fell during the finale of a Beatles LOVE performance seemed to lose their grip at the height of a rope stunt -- and based on this footage, he's lucky.

We broke the story ... the Sunday night accident at The Mirage in Las Vegas, forced performers to cut the music and send the audience home early. First responders needed room in the theater to get to the guy who went down hard.

You can see in the video ... everything started off as planned as the acrobats and dancers performed to "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" ... the stuntman elevated on the rope and came down safely twice.

The third time though, he lost control and plummeted to the ground.

After the fall, a fellow performer gave an emergency signal, but there were several seconds of confusion -- others on stage didn't know what happened, and kept the show going. It's awkward to watch, but they just had no way of initially knowing.

THE HORRIFIC FALL

It's impossible to see this accident and not think of Genea Sky's 15-foot drop from a stripper pole in Texas. She suffered some brutal injuries but survived ... just like this guy in Vegas.

A rep for LOVE tells us the emergency team got him backstage and he was transported to a hospital. His injuries were non-life threatening, and they say he wants to get back ... in the show!!!

LOVE says he's doing well and they expect him to be back in the show soon.

A day in the life.

Cirque du Soleil Acrobat Falls to His Death After Stunt Goes Wrong

A cast member of the traveling Cirque du Soleil suffered a fatal fall this weekend, dying at a hospital after an aerial stunt went terribly wrong ... and video of the incident has just surfaced.

The acrobat, Yann Arnaud, was performing during a live Cirque du Soleil production of "VOLTA" in Tampa Saturday night when he fell onto the stage during an aerial straps number.

In the video, which has since been deleted, you can see him swinging back into view when he somehow loses his grab on the strap and awkwardly lands head first. Crew members immediately rush to his aid, and the crowd is clearly in shock from the brutal fall.

Cirque du Soleil issued a statement saying emergency procedures were implemented and that Arnaud was transported to a local hospital. The company says he died from his injures sometime later. He'd reportedly been with the company for 15 years.

As a result of his death, Sunday's 2 shows in Tampa were cancelled. Guests who'd purchased tickets are said to be getting refunds.

Michael Jackson EPIC DANCE OFF ... at Cirque After-Party!!!

The dancing FREAKS who star in the Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil show were so AMPED UP after the debut performance in Canada Sunday night ... they rolled over to the after-party and unleashed ANOTHER killer performance.

It all went down at the "Gare Windsor" in Montreal -- while MJ's brothers Marlon and Jackie watched from the DJ booth.

Ya gotta watch the footage -- just awesome.

Cirque du Soleil -- Michael Jackson Immortalized

Cirque du Soleil is unveiling the images that will drive what could be the biggest show under the big top ever -- driven by Michael Jackson's music ... and TMZ got hold of the image that will drive the production.

The world tour is a partnership between the MJ Estate and Cirque -- each sharing 50% of the profits. It will kick off in the Fall of next year in Canada, and work its way south to the US of A.

The show will end up with a permanent home at the MGM Mirage hotel in Las Vegas -- probably in late 2012. Cirque has already released sketches of what the show will look like.

This project -- unlike some others -- got the thumbs up from Katherine Jackson.
