Murdered Florida Vice Mayor Husband's Attorney Trying to Withdraw From Case ... Over Conflict of Interest

There's a bit of a legal snag after Coral Springs Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer Bowen's husband was charged with her murder in Florida.

Court papers were filed Monday asking the judge to "relieve the Public Defender from further representation" of Nancy's husband, Stephen Bowen ... saying it'd be a conflict of interest.

In the motion obtained by TMZ, the Broward County public defender's office says they're "ethically precluded" from representing Bowen because several members of their office "had both personal and professional relationships" with Nancy.

She stepped out onto the 30 Rock plaza -- walking hand-in-hand with Jenna Bush Hager -- to rejoin cohosts Craig Melvin, Carson Daly, Al Roker and Sheinelle Jones as they anchor the show surrounded by a cheering crowd.

Craig welcomed back the show's "North Star," and Savannah is seen tearing up while greeting fans ... many of whom were holding signs that said "Welcome back Savannah."

In a video recorded for the Good Shepherd New York church's digital Easter gathering, Savannah admits that sometimes "life itself seems far harder than death" and that she experienced "deep disappointment with God" after her mom was kidnapped February 1.

According to Savannah, not knowing her mom's whereabouts or what exactly happened to her is particularly challenging.

But Savannah's faith also brought her comfort during her darkest days. Savannah believes Jesus had similar feelings of uncertainty that she has endured.

A Louisiana festival turned into a scary situation when a driver plowed into a crowd during a Lao New Year Parade, leaving at least 15 people injured.

The chaos unfolded Saturday afternoon in New Iberia, where cops say a vehicle slammed into multiple pedestrians near the parade route. Video from the aftermath shows people on the ground, while others rush in to help the injured.

Witnesses describe a horrifying scene ... one attendee says the driver appeared to inch forward at first, revving his engine like he was joining the celebration before suddenly barreling into the crowd.

In the newly-released 911 call from his February 27 disappearance -- obtained by Law&Crime Network -- Susan McCasland Wilkerson tells the dispatcher that she has "some indication that he planned not to be found."

Former Turnstile Guitarist Charged with Attempted Murder For Allegedly Hitting Ex-Bandmate's Dad with Car

Brady Ebert -- ex-guitarist for Turnstile -- has been charged with the attempted murder of his former bandmate's dad.

According to The Baltimore Banner, Ebert "intentionally [drove]" into William Yates -- the 79-year-old dad of Turnstile frontman, Brendan Yates -- with his car on Sunday.

The report says William suffered "trauma to his lower extremities" ... and court records show Ebert's being charged with attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault.

Yates' family members reportedly told the cops that Ebert had shown up to the house, swearing and honking the horn.

They say he drove off ... but ultimately came back, the outlet reports. Detectives reportedly have security footage of the incident that allegedly shows Ebert struck William with his car as he tried to run away.

The Baltimore Banner says Ebert had come back again while William was waiting for first responders, allegedly saying he "deserved it."

According to the outlet, William told police Ebert had been "causing problems for his family since being fired from the band."

Ebert was kicked out of Turnstile back in 2022 because of "a consistent pattern of harmful behavior affecting himself, the band and the community," the band said in a statement to multiple outlets.

They wrote that's when Ebert allegedly started "threatening violence," and the threats only "escalated further" over the past few months.

The statement continued to say William had undergone a successful surgery since the incident, and the band is "hoping for the best possible outcome in his recovery."

They asked for privacy and noted ... "We have no language left for Brady."

Court records say Ebert has been ordered to be held without bond and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 1.

The notice of appearance and invocation of rights were filed in Florida on Thursday ... showing Jeromy Bullard will be represented by Jason Fagnano, a personal injury attorney who specializes in auto, truck, motorcycle, bicycle and pedestrian accidents.

The development now allows Bullard to be represented in the criminal case ... and makes sure his rights are protected every step of the way. It doesn't necessarily mean he's suing Woods.
