Jon Voight is calling on Americans to realize the difference between right and wrong ... taking a minute to praise Daniel Penny -- who was found not guilty in the fatal choking of Jordan Neely -- and slam Luigi Mangione, the suspected killer in Brian Thompson's murder.

We caught up with the actor following the big updates in Penny and Mangione's respective New York cases ... and Angelina Jolie's dad made his opinions crystal clear on the highly discussed true-crime stories.

As Voight put it ... Penny should be hailed as a hero, and applauded the Marine veteran for having "the guts" to do what he did.

Joe Burrow just addressed the burglary at his Ohio home ... and it's clear as day -- he's not pleased about any aspect of it.

The Bengals star actually got his feelings on the matter out of the way right at the outset of his Wednesday afternoon meeting with reporters ... saying straight up, "I feel like my privacy has been violated in more ways than one, and way more is already out there than I would want out there and that I care to share."

"So," he continued, "that's all I got to say about that."

When Luigi Mangione made his initial court appearance Tuesday in Pennsylvania after a nationwide manhunt finally ended a day earlier ... and along with his outburst at the cameras, came some trolling from onlookers.

Here's the deal ... Mangione was apprehended Monday at a Pennsylvania Mickey D's ... and hours later, the Manhattan D.A. charged him with murder in the brazen December 4 fatal shooting of Brian Thompson.

After his brief extradition hearing Tuesday ... Mangione was led out of the Blair County courthouse by police where a group of reporters and others screamed questions at him ... along with a very specifical taunt.

Luigi Mangione's not on suicide watch after being examined by mental health professionals ... TMZ has learned.

A representative for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections says ... the man accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson isn't currently under any psychiatric order at SCI Huntingdon, a correctional facility just outside Altoona.

We're told he was evaluated by medical and psychology professionals as part of the regular screening ... and, no psych order was put in place.

Luigi Mangione's getting his own cell at a Pennsylvania correctional facility, and he hasn't been interacting with other inmates recently ... and, we now know what he'll be eating too.

A representative for the PA Department of Corrections tells TMZ ... Mangione will be held in a single cell -- no roommate locked up with him -- at SCI Huntingdon just outside Altoona.

We're told he's not in solitary confinement ... but, he won't be interacting with other inmates at this time -- so, no hanging out in the rec yard for now it seems.

Luigi Mangione planned to dive headfirst into self-help books it appears ... including one all about living with self-involved and distant parents -- providing what could be a clue to relationships in his own family.

As we've told you ... the alleged killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was apparently active on Goodreads -- a website where people log what they read and what they plan to read.

An account bearing his name logged hundreds of titles over the last 8 years ... and included many more on the "Want to Read" section -- including "Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents: How to Heal From Distant, Rejecting, or Self-Involved Parents" by clinical psychologist Lindsay Gibson.

Luigi Mangione, the charged killer in the Brian Thompson murder case, was living his best life in the months prior to the controversial shooting ... enjoying an action-packed trip to Asia earlier this year.

A source with direct knowledge tells TMZ … they had been on vacation with a friend in Krabi, Thailand, and met Mangione by chance at a Muay Thai fight in April 2024. We're told the trio hit it off, reconnected later to explore the city together and even planned a future road trip.

The source says the group split up briefly when Luigi headed to Phuket, and they made their way to Malaysia. However, the trio did eventually link back up in Thailand, embarking on their planned road trip -- which included stops in Khao Sok and Bangkok.

The man who attacked a judge by leaping over the bench during a sentencing hearing for another case earlier this year has been sentenced to 26 years in prison for the brazen act.

Deobra Redden attacked Las Vegas District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus on January 3 this year in an incident captured on video from the courtroom ... but it was District Court Judge Susan Johnson who sentenced him Tuesday, saying the attack was an assault on the entire judiciary.

Prosecutors asked Johnson for substantial prison time, while Redden’s attorneys suggested his sentence be served concurrently with his existing time behind bars from the attempted battery case ... the case Judge Holthus was sentencing him for when he attacked her.

Paul Bissonnette's 1 v. 6 restaurant brawl was captured on video ... with footage showing the ex-NHL star duking it out with alleged drunk patrons in a CVS parking lot.

The Scottsdale Police Department just released several clips from the Nov. 24 incident that started at Houston's ... showing Bissonnette approaching the group after he says they became aggressive toward a staffer.

When he tried to calm them down, the men shifted their focus to Biz ... and immediately started wailing on him.

Olivia Ponton -- a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model who boasts nearly eight million followers on TikTok -- was the one who reported the burglary at Joe Burrow's Ohio home to cops ... this according to a police report, obtained by TMZ Sports.

In the documents, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office wrote Ponton called in the break-in at around 8:14 PM -- as 28-year-old Burrow was in the middle of his "Monday Night Football" clash with the Dallas Cowboys in Texas.

Ponton, the docs state, told officers that when she pulled up to the Cincinnati-area residence, she noticed a "shattered bedroom window and the room ransacked." According to the report, Ponton phoned her mother, who then called in the matter to cops.

Luigi Mangione left a glowing Goodreads review for Ted Kaczynski's 'Unabomber Manifesto' -- and the possibility it inspired Mangione's alleged murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson is heartbreaking, says the late criminal’s brother.

David Kaczynski tells TMZ he was told yesterday by a friend that Mangione had read the Manifesto ... and it breaks his heart knowing his brother might be seen as a model for acceptable violent behavior.

"It breaks my heart to know in some way – human motivation is very complex -- but in some way, my brother might be seen as a model for acceptable, violent behavior. And in my opinion, there is no such thing" he says.

He explains to us people shouldn’t blur the lines between his brother Ted’s ideas in the Manifesto -- which he believes doesn't necessarily lead to violence -- and his "despicable, hurtful actions," which he says can lead to copycats.

An Ohio home belonging to Joe Burrow was reportedly burglarized on Monday night ... while he was helping his Bengals beat the Cowboys several states away.

According to WLWT's Karin Johnson ... police were called to Burrow's Cincinnati-area pad after receiving calls of a break-in.

Johnson reports 911 audio revealed one woman told dispatch, "Someone is trying to break into the house right now. My daughter is there. This is Joe Burrow’s house. She is staying there. He’s at the football game. She’s wondering what she should do, if she should be hiding or if she should go outside."

Jay-Z's rape accuser might take the music mogul's advice and file a criminal complaint against him after slapping him with a civil suit alleging sexual assault, according to her attorney Tony Buzbee.

In a statement emailed to TMZ, Buzbee said he's not ruling out filing rape charges against Jay with New York authorities, saying ... "What happens next is up to my client. It’s her case and what she decides to do you will find out in due course."

Per New York state law, there is no statute of limitations for alleged victims to file a first-degree felony rape complaint.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is refusing to support the narrative painting Brian Thompson's suspected killer as a modern-day vigilante ... slamming the notion as the murder case continues.

The politician spoke out in a press conference Monday after Luigi Mangione, the top person of interest in the fatal shooting of the UnitedHealthcare CEO, was arrested in Pennsylvania that same day.

While addressing reporters, Shapiro made it clear Mangione was "no hero," adding ... "In America, we do not kill people in cold blood to resolve policy differences or express a viewpoint."
