It all happened after Van's third-round TKO victory against Bruno Silva at UFC 316 ... his 14th win and 7th knockout of his career.

Van -- who made his MMA debut in 2021 -- celebrated the victory by catching his mom off guard with a new crib, not knowing something would also fall into his lap.

Kamaru Usman has lost three fights in a row ... but Joaquin Buckley, the man fighting the former champ Saturday night in the main event of UFC Fight Night, tells TMZ Sports that doesn't even begin to tell the full story!

According to a Las Vegas Metropolitan PD report, obtained by TMZ ... the HGTV "Flip or Flop" star got into a knock-down, drag-out fight with the man near a roulette table at The Palazzo at the Venetian hotel -- and it was all caught on surveillance video.

The report states ... last Thursday's battle royal was triggered by Tarek's adversary apparently bumping into the chair occupied by El Moussa's dad at the roulette table.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the "Flip or Flop" star and another male were involved in an altercation last Thursday at The Palazzo at the Venetian Resort.

Witnesses who were at the scene tell TMZ ... Tarek delivered a brutal knee to the man’s head, knocking him out cold. One witness called the incident "bad," saying the other guy looked seriously roughed up.

UFC honcho Dana White -- who is helping promote the fight -- dropped the announcement on his X account on Tuesday ... expressing his excitement to be involved in this event.

A man is in custody after throwing hands with three cops in Fargo, North Dakota -- and the whole brawl was caught on wild video!

7:27 AM PT -- According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, BJ Penn's mom, Lorraine Shin, claims she's the 79-year-old at the center of the allegations against the MMA legend.

In the docs -- which were part of an application written by Shin for a restraining order against Penn -- Shin alleged Penn is suffering from a psychological disorder that's caused him to believe she "killed his family" and has "taken over his mother's identity."

Court records show a TRO was granted in the case -- and both parties are due to appear before a judge on June 10 to share their sides of the story.
