Kris Humphries has a plan A and B to end his relationship with Kim Kardashian, but neither involves divorce.

Sources directly connected to Kris tell us ... the BBaller has deep-seated feelings -- rooted in religion -- against divorce. He's filed for an annulment because it wipes the slate clean by erasing the marriage.

If the judge refuses to grant an annulment, we've learned Kris will then ask for a legal separation that will extend indefinitely. He feels even though an indefinite separation would preclude him from marrying again, it's preferable to divorce.

The legal experts we've spoken with say ... unless Kris can prove with "clear and convincing evidence" Kim defrauded him into marrying her ... the judge will almost certainly grant her divorce petition.

In California and most states, it only takes one to UN-tango.

TMZ has just obtained the annulment documents Kris Humphries filed in response to Kim Kardashian's divorce petition.

As you can see, Kris is seeking an annulment based on fraud.

Kim Kardashian is telling friends ... she's incredulous over Kris Humphries' claim that she used him as a disposable groom just to get a pop on her reality show.

Kim is bragging -- and on this one she has a right to brag -- she and her mom are marketing geniuses, so why would she set herself up to be skewered in the media by dumping her husband after only 72 days? Kim acknowledges the split has been rough on her image and she would never have intentionally self-destructed.

And, Kim says, if this were really a wedding truly made for TV, she would have made it "way better," telling friends, "I'm no dummy. The divorce would have been just as dramatic and dragged out as the wedding."

Sources very close to Kris Humphries tell TMZ ... Kris is gunning for an annulment based on fraud because he feels "he was just slotted in the plot line of Kim Kardashian's latest headline and newest business venture."

We're told Kris believes Kim never intended to stay married to him, but needed a groom to fuel ratings for her show. One source says, "Once they were finished taping, she just didn't need a groom anymore."

Kris is telling people he feels like a pawn in the game.

And, we're told, Kris is outraged by people who think he was in on the wedding scam -- according to one friend, "He would have never flown in his childhood pastor to marry them and involve his church."

Finally, Kris feels Kim's own statement that she posted on her blog is a smoking gun ... specifically, "I felt like I was on a fast roller coaster and couldn't get off when now I know I probably should have. I got caught up in the hoopla and the filming of the TV show."

Bottom line -- the divorce/annulment war is on.

Seems Kris has other things on his mind too -- he was spotted yesterday at the airport in Washington, DC with his mother. They were in town to attend a children's health conference ... "Building A Healthier Future Conference." We're told Kris is very active in the cause.

Australia might become the first Kim Kardashian-free country on Earth ... after their Immigration Department has reportedly put K.K. on a watch list following three separate visa-related incidents.

Her most recent trip sparked an inquiry, claims the Daily Telegraph, because her visa application says she was a tourist ... when in fact she was there for a heavily-promoted business appearance.

The paper says the trip caused the Department of Immigration to review past trips ... and found she'd done the same thing in 2007 and 2010.

According to the Telegraph, Kim's future visits will be heavily scrutinized. The Immigration Department, while not commenting directly, told the paper, "If people do breach conditions of their visa, then the department can counsel them or cancel that person's visa."

Kim Kardashian is telling close friends today ... she NEVER defrauded Kris Humphries into marrying her.

Sources very close to Kim tell us ... Kim loved Kris and the marriage was legit, but just fell apart in short order.

As for Kris filing for an annulment on grounds Kim defrauded him, she says the two of them actually discussed annulling the marriage before she filed for divorce, but they were advised there were no legitimate grounds for an annulment. Under California law, someone can annul a marriage if there's proof of impotency, incest, bigamy, unsound mind, force or fraud.

In fact, Kim is saying she wanted an annulment and filed for divorce only after being told it was her only legal option.

TMZ has learned ... Kris Humphries just filed for an annulment against Kim Kardashian, on grounds Kim defrauded him into marrying her.

Sources close to Kris tell TMZ ... Kris was not in on the alleged fraud, meaning he did not stage the marriage for Kim's reality show. We're told Kris wanted this to be a genuine marriage, but Kim was never really on board.

Kim has already filed for divorce -- but according to the docs, obtained by TMZ -- Kris wants Kim to pay his attorney's fees.

We broke the story the couple has a prenup, but according to the documents Kris claims there are "community and quasi-community assets." Sources connected with Kim claim there's no community property.

The short story here -- there's going to be a fight, because Kris thinks Kim did him in.

The day before confirming she was preggers, Kourtney Kardashian took her baby bump shopping in Beverly Hills on Tuesday.

The unwed 32-year-old is nine weeks along with her second child with boyfriend Scott Disick. The couple also have 2-year-old son Mason.

Kris Humphries has lawyered up for his divorce ... TMZ has learned.

Kris is using his Minnesota attorney -- Lee Hutton -- to end his marriage to Kim Kardashian. Hutton reps a lot of sports stars and doesn't do much in the way of divorce. But that's OK, because this divorce will be easy as pie.

Sources connected with Kris and Kim tell us ... there are NO conflicts over who gets what, largely because of the prenup. BTW, Hutton repped Kris when the prenup was negotiated.

We're told -- barring something unforeseen -- the divorce will become final 6 months from the date Kim filed. That's the minimum time required by law.

Kim Kardashian is not reconciling with Kris Humphries, and the divorce is full steam ahead ... this according to sources with first-hand knowledge of the situation.

We're told even though Kim is somewhat conflicted, she knows divorce is the right thing to do, and the purpose of the trip to Minnesota last weekend was to create face-to-face closure.

Sources say Kris' Minnesota lawyer is handling the divorce for him.

And, we're told, there are "no conflicts" over the terms of the divorce.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries threw a Hail Mary Sunday ... to see if they could save their marriage -- and after a four-hour meeting with their pastor, sources close to the couple tell TMZ a reconciliation is "up in the air."

According to our sources, the meeting with Pastor Joel Johnson went well as they talked through lots of issues. We're told the two expressed respect and love for each other ... but both acknowledged a lot is wrong with their relationship.

Our sources say Kris was "ecstatic" Kim made the trip to Minnesota and he truly thinks he can win her back.

As for Kim .... she's unsure if she even wants to give it another go ... but for now, she's willing to keep talking.

One day after Kim Kardashian flew to Minnesota to talk things out with estranged husband Kris Humphries, she arrived at LAX last night looking ... like she'd been talking things out with an estranged husband.

Kim was also seen boarding the plane in Minnesota (below), where she clung to a giant pillow as she got ready for the late flight home.

Kim Kardashian was seen making a phone call outside the home of Kris Humphries this afternoon in Chanhassen, MN.

As TMZ first reported, Kim flew in to Minnesota last night to talk to Kris face-to-face ... but no reconciliation is expected.

Kris was spotted leaving the home later in the day.

Kim Kardashian has gone into lockdown, sources close to KK tell TMZ, and she went to great lengths yesterday at LAX to conceal her true location.

Kim's airport arrival caused mass hysteria among the paparazzi (see below). According to our sources, the paps trailed Kim from the airport -- but little did they know ... Kim pulled a switcheroo, switching cars mid-ride, and disappearing to a secret hideout.

We're told Kim will be staying indoors until she begins filming on the Tyler Perry movie "Marriage Counselor." That means Kim will be missing her mother's birthday dinner ... and brother-in-law Lamar Odom's birthday dinner as well.

Our sources say the attention surrounding her because of the divorce is too much for her ... and she's laying low until it dies down.

We're told only her family and a few close friends know where she is.

There will be no two-part Kardashian divorce special on E! ... this according to sources who tell us Kim did NOT want cameras to document the private, emotional moments behind her divorce.

Sources close to the family tell TMZ ... Kim will not be shooting any footage for "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" until the beginning of next year ... and is insisting she does not want to exploit the "real" moments behind the divorce on TV.

We're told Kim will most likely acknowledge the split when filming picks up again -- but all of the behind the scenes crying, fighting and other divorce-related stuff will not air on the show.

Kim Kardashian hasn't spoken a word to Kris Humphries since she filed for divorce, despite reports to the contrary -- this according to sources close to the couple.

Sources close to KK tell TMZ ... the two have been giving each other nothing but the silent treatment since Kim filed divorce papers on Monday ... despite multiple reports they've been communicating regularly.

According to sources, the couple made a mutual decision not to communicate -- at least for the time being. We're told any immediate communication will be handled through their reps.

As for other break-up logistics, like getting each other's stuff back -- we're told there really aren't any ... neither Kim nor Kris ever officially moved into the other's home ... so the split was pretty clean.

TMZ spoke to Kim's mom Kris Jenner earlier today in L.A. -- and she tells us, she hasn't spoken to Kris either since the split.
