The comedian opened up about her transformative last 4 years in her new Netflix stand-up special, "For Your Approval," in which she made it clear she's "proud" of the person she is today.
As Ellen put it ... her career in comedy made her acutely aware and "care what people think," but she's no longer letting the peanut gallery "consume" her after her fall from grace.

Ryan Murphy isn’t budging after the Menéndez brothers threw shade at their portrayal in his new Netflix series ... and while he's at it, he's also defending the incestuous storyline between the duo.
The director was scratching his head over why Erik and Lyle were so mad about "Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story," especially since he said he knew for a fact they hadn't even watched the show yet.
Addressing Erik's lengthy criticism in particular, Ryan told E! News at the "Grotesquerie" premiere he hoped Erik actually watched the series -- adding if he did, he'd be unbelievably proud of Cooper Koch, the actor playing him.

TMZ Studios has a new documentary -- "TMZ Investigates Matthew Perry and the Secret Celebrity Drug Ring" -- which drops today, Tuesday, on Hulu.
Several celebrities, including Kelly Osbourne, talk about how it's common knowledge in Hollywood that doctors provide specific drugs to celebrities. For her part, Kelly was able to score Vicodin and Oxy from various Hollywood doctors. And get this ... she was 13 at the time and the doctors never told her mom and dad what they were prescribing their daughter.
