Aaron Hernandez

People Were Out to Kill Me

6/27/2013 4:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0626_aaron_hernandez_patriots
Aaron Hernandez was in constant fear that someone wanted him dead ... and that's why he stocked up on firearms ... sources close to the former New England Patriots star tell TMZ.

We're told ... the stories about Aaron's connections to gang members in Connecticut are real -- because the 23-year-old had joined one back when he was a teenager.

Sources connected to Aaron tell us ... he had been trying to move away from the gangster life ever since he signed his fat $40 million contract with the Patriots back in 2012, but it's not as easy as it sounds.

In fact, we're told Aaron believed people in the gangster world felt Aaron owed them something ... but it wasn't all about money -- they wanted his time and respect.

Sources say ... in the months leading up to the death of Odin Lloyd, Hernandez became paranoid that people from his "old lifestyle" were trying to kill him. It's unclear if Aaron feared scorned friends ... or rivals.

He better hope this isn't true. If you're in prison it's pretty easy for gang members to get to you.

Who do you think Hernandez texted in Connecticut, telling them to "get your ass up here"? Afraid, my eye.

so he felt lloyd was trying to kill him? what about his buddy he shot in the face last yr? was he trying to kill him too? im willing to forgive him but i need more answers. if the folks he shot are rotten people, then as a role model he probably felt he had a duty to kill them. i could buy that.

Sounds like he's being framed. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he had nothing to do with the killing.

I would think that the police had found enough Evidence to arrest him today and at least they think he is the killer! Who knows yet though! TMZ always changes things they say in sometimes less than an hour, as they learn more information!

And what is the point of this story again? As a 23 year old that went to college you'd think he would have left the gang and gang lifestyle years ago. That fact that he was still in it is his fault. Street gangs are not the mob. They're actually pretty easy to get away from if you're a freaking millionaire. This story is a load of crap.

Judging from his facial expressions in the video, he doesn't have an ounce of concern for what he has done. For sure has done this before.

O wow. ABC just gave some specifics....said he was the mastermind in the deal and got a small group to help drive the guy to place where shot.

Oh please..BULL BULL BULL, he liked the lifestyle. Why was he living in the New England area during the off-season. If he wanted to get out of the gang lifestyle, he would have been somewhere else during the off-season.

If he killed the guy, there's no justification to killing him, he had the resources to stay as far away as possible from his past lifestyle!!!
