Chris Kattan

I'm Not Guilty

So Why Do I Have to Go To AA?

Chris Kattan just pled not guilty to DUI ... and in an unusual move, the judge ordered him to attend AA meetings.

TMZ broke the story ... Chris crashed his Mercedes into a parked car on the freeway last month after allegedly admitting he had taken Rx drugs.  Earlier that day he was totally out of it on an airplane.

Chris entered his not guilty plea Monday morning and the judge ordered him to attend 2 AA meetings per week -- as a condition to bail. It's odd ... because everything we've found about AA focuses on alcohol ... not prescription meds. And alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

It's also curious ... the judge didn't order Chris to abstain from meds or booze.

If it's alcoholics "anonymous" how will the judge know if he went or not?

He can easily fight it. Say he is an atheist . Since in AA one of the steps is believing in a higher power. Plus like they said he was high on his own prescription meds. So they can't tell him to stop taking meds. That is between him & his Dr.

Yeah why does he have to go to AA if he is not guilty? Don't people that go to AA have to be criminals?

Bullsheet. He is innocent until proven guilty. The judge has no jurisdiction to order him to do crap. Nanny society gone crazy

i hate to break it to u TMZ, but AA is used by millions of people for alcohol AND drug addiction. it's the same disease, regardless of the substance. get yo facts straight. 12 step programs including NA, OA and SLA all use their methods out of the Big Book of AA. it's the same deal.
