The Oscars 'Moonlight' Wins Best Picture, But 'La La' Gets Trophy In HUGE Screw Up!!

2/26/2017 9:58 PM PST
Breaking News

Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway pulled a Steve Harvey -- announcing "La La Land" won Best Picture, when it was really supposed to go to "Moonlight" ... and the fallout was hysterical.

In the greatest Oscars ending ever ... Warren and Faye called the 'La La' crew up on stage -- and they were several minutes into their acceptance speeches before someone figured out the massive screw up.

If you missed it you gotta see how it played out -- stage managers looked like Keystone Cops running around onstage. To their credit, the 'La La' folks graciously handed over their Oscars when the "Moonlight" cast and crew came up.

As for what went wrong? Watch ... Warren's explanation is an instant Hollywood classic,  but basically he and Faye were handed the wrong card -- the one for Emma Stone's Best Actress win ... which had been handed out just before Best Picture.

And get this -- Leo DiCaprio is somehow involved. Best we can tell ... he walked off the stage holding Emma's envelope after her acceptance speech. We don't know what happened backstage, but somehow that card ended up in Warren and Faye's hands.

You are not alone, Steve Harvey.

Iranian Director Asghar Farhadi Blasts Trump's Travel Ban After Oscar Win

2/26/2017 7:24 PM PST

The Iranian director who was almost banned from attending the Oscars because of Donald Trump's travel ban blasted the Prez after he won Sunday ... but did it in writing.

Asghar Farhadi had a rep read a statement after winning the Best Foreign Film award for his movie "The Salesman" ... in which he explained his absence.

Farhadi -- who's won an Oscar before -- said he is standing in solidarity with his own country -- as well as the other 6 in Trump's now-blocked EO -- to protest the ban.

Since the ban was nullified by the courts, he could have attended had he wanted.

Jimmy Kimmel Uses 'Over-Rated' Streep To Jab Trump at Oscars

2/26/2017 6:34 PM PST

Jimmy Kimmel took a huge sarcastic swipe at President Trump ... all in support of some up and coming actress named Meryl Streep.

In the middle of Jimmy's opening monologue for the 89th Oscars he put the spotlight on Meryl by referencing Trump's "over-rated" tweet about her ... following her scathing speech about him in January.

Jimmy's obviously killed in what's definitely NOT a Trump-friendly room.

Ya gotta imagine Trump's Twitter finger is itching.

Oscars Stage Prop Comes Crashing Down!

2/26/2017 4:01 PM PST
EXCLUSIVE

props_crashed_on_oscar_set_wm-3Part of the Oscars stage was left in shambles Sunday morning when a prop crashed down during rehearsals ... and TMZ got this photo of the damage.

The accident happened around 11:30 AM on the stage at the Dolby Theatre -- just hours before the award show was set to begin. We're told host Jimmy Kimmel was working out a skit at the time, but was off the stage.

The props, which appear to be skyscraper models, tumbled over and crushed a camera. We're told no one was injured though. One witness described it as making a "horrifying sound" as it tore down the curtain.

The show is set to begin at 5:30 PM PT ... so we're guessing there's a lot of scrambling going on to get things fixed. We've got a call in to the Oscars and ABC ... no word back yet.

update_graphic_red_bar4:40 PM PT -- The Academy says the set pieces were repaired and will not impact tonight's show.

Michelle Obama Sundays Are for the Soul(Cycle) ... Secret Service Sweatin' Too

2/26/2017 2:40 PM PST
EXCLUSIVE

Michelle Obama put her legs -- and possibly those of her Secret Service agent -- through the paces Sunday in Washington, DC.

We got Michelle on her way out of SoulCycle. Looked like she had a decent workout, but check out the agent covering her. No dark suit and shades on this guy ... and based on his gear, we'd say he got in some cycle time too.

Our DC sources say Michelle and her Secret Service agents used to get private classes, but now she spins with the public.

Fitness was always her thing while in the White House. Now that she and Barack are back from their extended vacay ... she's clearly back in the saddle.

'People's Court' Judge Wapner Dead at 97

2/26/2017 11:06 AM PST
EXCLUSIVE

0226-joseph-wapner-remembering-gallery-02

Joseph Wapner, the retired judge who literally changed television as the judge on "The People's Court," has died ... TMZ has learned.

Wapner became an instant sensation when the show debuted in September, 1981.  "The People's Court" was the first TV reality show, and it opened the door to many more, including a slew of TV court shows.

He was opinionated, passionate and irascible as he heard thousands of cases during his 12-year run.

The show became a touchpoint for pop culture.  It was parodied on "Saturday Night Live" and many other shows.  Dustin Hoffman's "3 minutes to Wapner" in "Rain Man" became an iconic expression.

Before becoming a TV judge, Wapner served as an L.A. County Superior Court judge for 20 years.

He was hospitalized last week with breathing problems and his condition worsened, to the point he was taken to his West L.A. home Friday under hospice care.  He died Sunday morning.

Judge Wapner was married to wife Mickey for 70 years.  He had 3 kids.

Joseph Wapner was 97.

'Cash Me Ousside' Girl Another Day ... Another Fight This Time Ousside a Bar!

2/26/2017 1:32 PM PST
EXCLUSIVE

The 'Cash Me Ousside' girl ain't done picking fights yet -- only now, she's got her pals in on the action ... outside of a bar.

Danielle Bregoli was in downtown Lake Worth, FL Saturday night, where she and 2 of her girlfriends -- who also look like teens -- helped start a massive brawl at a nearby bar.

Eyewitnesses tell us Danielle and her crew were just passing by, when customers outside on the patio started taunting them with Danielle's catchphrase ... you know the one.

We're told Danielle and co. played along at first, shouting it back and teasing fans with the prospect of pics/selfies for $10 a pop -- that is, until Danielle started getting pissed by the constant shouting on the other end ... causing 1 of her friends to attack a lady.

A crowd started chasing the 3 girls down the street, but not before another random fight broke out between other bar goers right on the spot.

We're told Danielle and her friends were long gone by the time cops showed up. She was not arrested.

Steve-O Jumps Off a Bridge From a Moving Trampoline

2/26/2017 3:03 PM PST
EXCLUSIVE

Steve-O wasn't satisfied to just jump off a bridge ... instead, he earned some style points by throwing a trampoline into the mix, and he's lucky to be alive.

The former "Jackass" star was in Tampa, FL Saturday pulling off the new stunt -- leaping off a high bridge into the Intracoastal Waterway from a trampoline mounted to the back of a pickup.

Seconds after his leap, Steve's friends shouted ... he could be dead. As it was, surviving was NOT pretty.

As for WHY in the world he did this? He's Steve-O.
