Dr. J Says Sixers Are Stacked With LeBron & Co., But No Lock To Win Title
Julius 'Dr. J' Erving 76ers Are Crazy Talented ... But Not A Lock To Win Title
Julius Erving is giving the new-look Philadelphia 76ers a big thumbs-up ... but Dr. J's not ready to crown them champs just yet!
The Hall of Famer spoke to TMZ Sports this week and said he's all-in on the stacked squad ... but winning isn't just about accumulating All-Stars.
"What I've been doing is just pretty much giving the deal a thumbs up. Jaylen Brown, deal, thumbs up," Erving told us, ticking off some of the blockbuster off-season moves.
"They're gonna be one of the most talented teams."

But there's a catch.
"There's a big age discrepancy between the youngest, you know, which is V.J. [Edgecombe], and LeBron," he explained. "So how that works, it remains to be seen. I mean, you got a 23-year-old, and you got a 42-year-old, or whatever, as the book ends, and you know, Embiid is somewhere in the middle."
Dr. J compared roster building to cooking.
"You're trying to create something special. You're trying to create something. You go in the kitchen and you mix the ingredients, and then once you put fire under there, you see whether it's going to be good, great, or okay."
Those ingredients ... Bron, Embiid, Jaylen, Tyrese Maxey, and Edgecombe, in addition to their bench.
The Sixers are going to get a ton of pub this season, and Erving will have a front-row seat.
"I will be going to some of the games, and I will stay a part of the organization as an alumnus."
Talent through the roof in the City of Brotherly Love, but can they gel -- that's the question!
