"Frustration" is a word being used around the offices of William Morris, the agency that reps Britney Spears. "It came as a shock," said one insider.

How Ironic! Shields Beats Cruise to the Parent Punch
Brooke Shields has beaten Tom Cruise to birth. Brooke had a girl, Grier Hammond, just hours before Tom Cruise's fiancee, Katie Holmes, spawned her own baby girl, Suri.
Both sets of mothers and daughters are said to be doing well.
Last year Brooke and Tom, who co-starred together in the 1981 film 'Endless Love,' traded barbs in the media over Shields' use of psychiatric drugs while suffering from post-partum depression. Cruise, a staunch critic of psychiatry, believes the ailment can be treated through exercise and vitamins.
Shields' daughter weighed in at 7 pounds even, measuring 20 inches. Holmes' little bundle of joy weighed in at 7 pounds, 7 ounces and also measured 20 inches long.
Grier Hammond is the second child for Shields and hubby Chris Henchy. The couple's other daughter, Rowan, turns 3 next month.
Suri is the first child for Tom and Katie. Tom has two children: Isabella, 13, and Connor, 11.
UPDATE: 11:05PM ET -- TMZ cameras were outside Tom and Katie's home in Beverly Hills. We caught paparazzi milling around the grounds and cars going in and out. Word is the black Excursion in the video going into Tom's home is his. We spotted that same Excursion leaving the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre shortly before that.

"We did try to keep as quiet as possible," Archer told 'EXTRA.' "We weren't completely successful, but we did the best we could!"
Archer's complete interview airs on 'EXTRA' tonight.
Angelina's Baby Danger
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have jetted off with their two adopted children to Namibia as her due date nears. The couple reportedly plans to stay in Africa for the birth of their child to minimize the danger of out-of-control paparazzi. But Africa could pose an even more serious danger -- namely, malaria.
TMZ contacted Passport Health for their take on pregnant women traveling to Namibia and giving birth there. Carol DeRosa, the Executive Director and head nurse, said, "I would not recommend it. No one would."
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is on record discouraging pregnant women from traveling to areas where malaria is prevalent, adding that malaria is a "major risk." Malaria causes high fevers, shaking chills, and rigors that can cause premature birth, miscarriage, and stillbirth.
It's a Bird, It's a Plane... It's Tom Cruise!
Tom Cruise took to the air in a 63-year-old airplane as his pregnant fiancee, Katie Holmes, contemplated the birth of their child. Cruise took a P51 Mustang out for a spin Saturday, taking off from Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, Calif.
Cruise owns the refurbished 1943 plane and is currently renting a hanger at the airport.
Tom had a co-pilot securely in tow during the ride.
The actor has been active to say the least in the last few weeks, jetting to Germany and motorcycling around town. His latest adventure raises the question -- is Tom taking too many chances given the impending birth?

It's 'Code Baby Alert' for TomKat
Celebrity magazine editors and the paparazzi are on call 24/7 this weekend, speculating on buzz that Katie Holmes will give birth in complete silence by following Scientology's strict birthing plan.
Since taking-up with the world's number one movie star, Katie, 27, has been a regular at the Celebrity Scientology Center in Los Angeles where she has been learning about the mysterious religion which Cruise, 43, claims guides his every life decision.
Scientologists believe that a woman must deliver her child without any anesthesia or noise during both her labor and birth. Furthermore, they believe that a newborn must not be separated from its mother immediately after birth, under the theory that separation could cause the baby enormous grief.
New: Britney's Car Seat Caper
Britney Spears has had car seats on the brain. TMZ has learned that on Jan. 15 the singer bought a car seat at Toys 'R Us in Porter Ranch, Calif., a Los Angeles suburb.
An employee of the store told TMZ that Spears came in with her assistant and bought a car seat for her baby, as well as a stroller. The Toys 'R Us manager then installed the car seat in the assistant's car.
As the world now knows, Spears is in hot water for driving in Malibu on Monday with her son sitting unrestrained on her lap. The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services is investigating.

Shields and Ryan Are Tickled Pink
Meg Ryan and Brooke Shields are in the pink -- literally. Both are adding little girls to their families.
Shields and her TV writer-producer husband Chris Henchy have announced that their second child, due in May, will be a girl. "I'm thrilled for my daughter to have a little friend," Shields says.
Shields bravely chronicled her battle with post-partum depression in the book 'Down Came the Rain: My Journey Through Postpartum Depression.' Her outspoken support of antidepressants prompted the criticism of Tom Cruise, a Scientologist who opposes psychiatry and prescription medication to battle depression.
Shields' daughter, Rowan, is 2.

''Meg is thrilled by the new addition to her family,'' a source close to Ryan tells Us Weekly in its issue hitting newsstands tomorrow. Ryan, who already has a 13-year-old son, Jack, with ex-husband Dennis Quaid, returned to the United States on Jan. 23 with her new child from China. The magazine reports the actress completed the adoption at an American consulate there after an eight-day stay and months of red tape.
