'The Amazing Race' Jonathan & Ana Towns Sue CBS for $8 Million
"The Amazing Race" contestants Jonathan and Ana Towns claim CBS and the show's producers besmirched their names on the reality TV competition show ... and they want them to cough up more than $8 million in damages over it ... TMZ has learned.
In a lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, the couple says the show deliberately smeared them by using "decontextualized" footage that made Jonathan look like "a morally depraved, brutal and abusive spouse," while at the same time omitting material that put Jonathan in a more "humanizing" light.
During last year's season, Jonathan seemed to demean Ana multiple times on the show with name-calling and a seemingly derisive attitude, which upset many 'TAR' fans.
Britney Spears DUI Arrest More Than Booze? Cops Suspect Substances, Too

3:10 PM PT -- Law enforcement sources are now clarifying ... cops suspect Britney was under the influence of substances, in addition to alcohol, but say there were no drugs found in her car.
The CHP press release says "chemical test results are pending" ... were told that only means they're testing her blood for drugs and alcohol.
Britney Spears may be in trouble for more than just allegations of drinking and driving ... TMZ has learned.
Sources familiar with the investigation tell TMZ ... in addition to suspicion of DUI, there was also an unknown substance found in her car, which will be part of the arrest.
We're told the substance is now being tested.

Britney Spears was allegedly swerving from lane to lane prior to her DUI arrest ... this according to police dispatch audio.
According to the audio, a 2026 black convertible was driving in and out of lanes and speeding ... and an officer can be heard asking for the dispatcher to "send all units down towards this area please."
An officer later says they are speaking with the car's driver, who has stepped out of the vehicle.
'Real Housewives' Star Erin Lichy Fighting Former Management Company Over Money
Erin Lichy's former management company won a case against their ex-client and got an award for more than $90,000 ... and, the group's now gone to a judge to make sure they get it.
Brigade Talent LLC filed documents to confirm an arbitration award Thursday ... after the company says they won a case against the 'RHONY' star ... Lichy fired the company in 2024 after 17 months, and a dispute arose over unpaid commissions. The company says the ruling in their favor requires Lichy to hand over $91,632.28.
The company claims Erin was made aware of the final award on February 24 ... and they now want the judge to confirm it and grant the company additional interest until it's paid.

Britney spent some time at a hospital early Thursday morning, because California Highway Patrol officers transported her there to draw her blood ... according to multiple sources close to Brit.
We're also told she was alone when cops pulled her over in Westlake Village ... not far from her home. She did not sustain any injuries, and the hospital visit was purely to determine her blood alcohol content.

David Del Rio is not giving up after CBS fired him from "Matlock" following an allegation of sexual assault involving costar Leah Lewis ... because now he wants to battle the network in arbitration.
The actor's powerhouse lawyer, Shawn Holley, tells TMZ ... David has initiated arbitration against CBS Studios to address false and misleading allegations that caused substantial professional and reputational harm.

Misty's lawyer Todd Clemons tells TMZ ... Misty is "very, very disappointed" in yesterday's verdict.
Clemons said ... "At this particular point, there's no apology that I'm gonna give on her behalf," adding while Misty respects the jury, she plans to appeal their verdict.

The 16-year-old boy who had sex with the former mayor of small Louisiana town dropped some jaw-dropping details testifying in court this week ... before the ex-mayor was convicted Tuesday.
The teen at the center of the trial took the stand yesterday, describing a "big argument" that took place after he was caught in bed with former DeRidder Mayor Misty Roberts ... he said Roberts immediately shifted blame to him after the drunken incident ... and he said Roberts told her own son to fight him.
According to local news outlet KPLC-TV, the underage victim said Roberts' son told the two they had been recorded having sex .... which prompted Roberts to scream, "Go fight your friend. He's the one who did it."
Dennis Hopper Daughter Sues Widow Over IP Rights
Dennis Hopper’s family is locked in an intense legal battle … with the late actor’s daughter claiming his widow interfered with a binding deal to manage the Dennis' image rights and legacy.
According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Hayward Luxury -- a luxury goods brand founded by Hopper’s daughter Marin Hopper -- claims Victoria Duffy Hopper worked behind the scenes to derail a signed contract that gave Hayward the right to control Dennis Hopper's various trademarks and rights of publicity.
The suit says after Dennis Hopper died in May 2010, the Hopper Art Trust was created to promote and manage his artwork -- including photographs, paintings, and sculptures -- along with his intellectual property.
Hayward says it struck a deal in 2018 with the trust to purchase certain intellectual property rights tied to Hopper, claiming Hayward paid around $800,000 in the first few years of the agreement to invest in the rights it had purchased.
