Hayden Panettiere's family is backing her ex Wladimir Klitschko as he seeks legal guardianship of their daughter Kaya, telling TMZ they believe he's a devoted father who has Hayden's best interests at heart.
Sources connected to the family tell TMZ ... the family is supportive of Wlad's efforts to take a greater role in the transition of Hayden's estate to 11-year-old Kaya, who is set to inherit all of her mother's assets.
We're told the family's POV is the court filing is just a legal formality, and they add, "Wlad is a great father and we are grateful."
Hayden Panettiere's ex Wladimir Klitschko is asking a court to name him guardian of his daughter Kayain order to protect her rights as the sole beneficiary of Hayden's estate... and saying he's concerned that some of the late actress’s assets may be lost, TMZ has learned.
In his petition to be appointed as temporary guardian, Wladimir says Kaya is "not a resident of California; this Court has jurisdiction over the guardianship of Kaya's estate because, as such heir, Kaya is entitled to the entirety of the assets subject to Hayden's probate administration in California."
In the petition, obtained by TMZ, he says federal agents accessed Hayden's home as part of an ongoing investigation and removed her property. He wants to be the rep for the estate so he can get the property back when the probe is over.
Jonah Hill's former Malibu estate is back on the market ... and TMZ has learned it was also the site of a private reception following Hayden Panettiere's recent memorial service.
Real estate sources tell TMZ ... the three-story, four-bedroom, four-bathroom home is listed for $12.95 million.

Hayden Panettiere had a history of abusing nitrous oxide … according to what officials say her boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, told them after she died from a drug overdose.
In the coroner's report, obtained by TMZ, investigators say they sat down with Brian -- whose name is redacted in the report -- and claim he told them she had a long history of drug, alcohol, and nitrous oxide abuse.
Investigators say Brian also informed them that Hayden had recently gotten out of a drug rehab center in Malibu ... just a few weeks before she overdosed.

In the statement, the M.E. said Hayden had in her system a combination of fentanyl, anti-anxiety medication alprazolam, a muscle relaxer, and a drug used to treat major depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
According to the detailed report, obtained by TMZ, a senior deputy coroner responded to an Airbnb in Greenville, SC, where Hayden was staying with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, and his brother, Zach, after the actress had died on August 16.
Hayden Panettiere's cause of death has been revealed ... the actress died from fentanyl and several other drugs.
The Greenville County Coroner, in a report obtained by TMZ, ruled Hayden's manner of death as an accident. She was also found to have the following in her system -- Alprazolam (generic Xanax), a muscle relaxant called Methocarbamol, and Quetiapine ... a drug used to treat bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and major depression.
