California Governor Gavin Newsomis frustrated and surprised over how wildfire rebuilding efforts have played out in Los Angeles ... especially after a recovery proposal pushed by Harveystalled at the City level.
Jacobasked Newsom Wednesday in D.C. about his post-fire conversations with Harvey regarding local architect Dan Brunn's ambitious desire to rebuild Altadena and the Palisades ... a proposal Newsom eagerly supported after the devastating 2025 wildfires.
Newsom tells us he personally followed up with Brunn on the proposal -- and had his team do the same. BTW, Brunn and 100 other architects were doing it for free.
2:07 PM PT -- A Google spokesperson tells TMZ ... the technical issue has been fixed ... and "post-fire imagery is rolling out again now across Google Maps and Earth."
Google Maps appears to have rolled back parts of Los Angeles to pre-Palisades Fire imagery ... making burned-down neighborhoods suddenly look untouched again.
Users, including Spencer Pratt, noticed the change Monday after updated satellite views on Google Maps appeared to restore homes, streets, and landmarks that were destroyed in the devastating wildfire.
A Google spokesperson says the change was accidental ... telling TMZ, "This is a technical issue triggered by a recent, routine update to satellite imagery in Google Maps and Earth, which accidentally restored old imagery from before the fire. We’re fixing it ASAP."
Spencer Pratt is sharing a deeply emotional Mother’s Day message for Heidi Montag, posting a video of her with their kids in the aftermath of the devastating Palisades fires that destroyed their home.
Check the clip, Spencer highlights tender family moments between Heidi and their children, reflecting on life after the blaze that wiped out the family’s house in the Pacific Palisades and adding the caption "Mother’s Day is every day in my LA."
The post struck a more somber tone than his usual social media presence, focusing on gratitude, resilience, and family bonds during a difficult chapter -- including intimate moments between Heidi and their two boys, Gunner and Ryker Pratt,as they revisit their once beloved family home.
1:15 PM PST -- CBS has released the full interview that Spencer Pratt had called into question. They additionally flagged that neither Karen Bass or Nithya Raman had any part in editing the piece.
Here’s the full interview @adamyamaguchi did with Spencer Pratt on Thursday.
Spencer is clearly muchhappier since his full story has been posted, tweeting ... "A new era of responsible journalism! Thank you to CBS for posting our full interview so the voters can hear from their next Mayor!"
Spencer Pratt has told CBS to go running for "The Hills" after accusing them of turning his recent interview with them into a hit piece.
The reality TV villain took to X on Saturday to flame CBS for allegedly turning over the footage from his interview at his scorched Pacific Palisades lot to Karen Bass' PR team so they could turn his campaign into a political "sideshow." He also didn't forget to troll Karen for her response to 2025's Pacific Palisades fires.
Spencer has also sworn off CBS for this ... saying they won't hear a peep from him if he serves as L.A.'s mayor for 8 years -- he's just gotta win back-to-back elections first, of course.
The race for the next mayor of Los Angeles is heating up ... with the top three candidates, including reality TV star Spencer Pratt, taking the debate stage ... and Spencer didn't hold back.
Pratt just went hard on L.A. City Councilmember Nithya Raman and incumbent Mayor Karen Bass in a debate at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles ... ripping them and their performance.
Bass is nearing the end of her first term as mayor of the city, after being elected in November 2022 ... she beat out real estate developer Rick Caruso back then, following her time serving in Congress and the California State Assembly.
Spencer Pratt plans on going to Bat for Los Angeles, Man ... becoming The Caped Crusader in a new A.I. political ad bashing prominent Democrats -- and many conservative politicians and commentators online are praising its message.
The new ad dropped Tuesday, drawing from "The Dark Knight Rises" kangaroo court scene ... featuring L.A. Mayor Karen Bass as The Joker, California Governor Gavin Newsom dressed as a French aristocrat -- a clear reference to The French Laundry -- and former VP Kamala Harris, who just endorsed Bass, swilling vodka.
An ordinary citizen begs for help but is laughed at by the three judges and the assembled aristocracy ... until Joe Rogan is forced to shine a large SP in the night sky à la Commissioner Gordon.
Prosecutors say Jonathan Rinderknecht -- the man who allegedly started the horrific Pacific Palisades Fire -- shouldn't be allowed to introduce evidence and argue about the Los Angeles Fire Department's response to the wildfires to get himself out of trouble.
Here's the deal ... prosecutors say Rinderknecht's attorneys are trying to bring up alleged incidents of the department's supposed ineptitude to protect their client and reframe the case around the response to the January 2025 fire to distract from his alleged role in starting it.
One example Rinderknecht is arguing is that one member of the fire department apparently wasn't alarmed by seeing smoke. But prosecutors say brush fires commonly smolder after firefighters put them out ... something they say this particular firefighter knew, and explains the lack of concern.
Prosecutors list a series of examples they say are just like this ... insisting Rinderknecht's attorneys are grasping at straws and attempting to "transform his trial into a misguided and much lengthier trial about the LAFD."
David Foster and Yolanda Hadid's former Malibu estate -- reduced to a scorched lot in last year's Palisades Fire -- has officially sold for big money ... TMZ has learned.
The 3.25-acre ocean view property closed Wednesday for $6.5 million, marking the highest Malibu land sale since the 2025 Palisades wildfire.
Daniel Milstein, who held the listing with Aaron Kirman of Christie's International Real Estate, tells TMZ ... they’re proud to have represented the transaction and set a new record for the highest-priced land sale in Malibu since the fires -- despite a challenging market -- adding the deal shows the resilience of Malibu and Los Angeles as buyers continue to see the potential in prime real estate.
Lauren Conrad might not be fond of Spencer Pratt ... but he swears she'd vote for him if she saw the s****y conditions in Los Angeles!
Pratt responded to Conrad avoiding the question of whether she'd vote for him for mayor on "Today" -- she simply stated she's not a resident of L.A. since she lives in Orange County, without giving her opinion on his political aspirations -- by claiming she'd "vote for me if she lived in LA and her kids had to walk over fentanyl zombies and human poop on their way to school."
We're not so convinced ... Conrad gave Kristin Cavallari a hard stare after she said, "I will always have a soft spot for Spencer. I think he's great" -- and she also told hosts Jenna BushHagerand Sheinelle Jones they were "asking me about people I haven’t spoken to in decades."
Spencer Pratt officially entered the 2026 race for mayor of Los Angeles this week ... and he says winning will be easy, because he says Mayor Karen Bass is probably going to jail!
Watch the video ... TMZ caught up with Spencer at a campaign event Wednesday, where he followed in the footsteps of another famous reality star who ran for office.
Spencer gave his opponent a pejorative nickname, "Karen Basura" -- that's Spanish for "trash" -- and predicted her arrest. Sound like anybody else you know? This man basically took Donald Trump's whole flow! Watch the second clip ... Spencer also delivered his plans for the city last night.
People have had a lot to say about Spencer Pratt running for mayor of Los Angeles ... but he told us he has literally nothing to lose!
We caught up with the reality TV star outside of CBS Studios in NYC Monday, as he continues his press tour to promote his book, "The Guy You Loved to Hate: Confessions from a Reality TV Villain." When asked if he's nervous about running for office, he gave a facetious response, saying, "What, are they gonna burn my house down again?"
Gotta say ... that's one of the best barbs a politician has come up with in a long time.
As we reported ... the 42-year-old reality star announced his new mayoral bid on the first anniversary of the Pacific Palisades wildfire, which destroyed more than 6,000 structures -- including the house Pratt shared with wife Heidi Montag and their two sons.
Since the tragedy, Spencer has engaged in fiery exchanges with California politicians, encouraging fans to call for him to run for office. While he's answered the call ... not everyone seems to think it's a good idea.
Mayor Karen Bass's campaign strategist Douglas Herman tells TMZ ... "It's no shock that in advance of his imminent book release, a reality TV 'villain' who once staged a fake divorce to boost ratings and spent the last summer spewing post-fire misinformation and disinformation to pump up his social media following, would now announce he's running for Mayor."
The reality star made the announcement Wednesday in front of a cheering crowd, saying, "This is not just a campaign. This is a mission. And we are going to expose the system!"
This mayoral bid begins on the first anniversary of the Pacific Palisades wildfire, which destroyed more than 6,000 structures -- including the house Pratt shared with wife Heidi and their two sons. Spencer has been engaged in a battle with California politicians ever since.
Spencer's ongoing war of words with California Governor Gavin Newsom escalated Tuesday in an Instagram post revealing a letter sent to him from the governor's office.
Spencer Pratt is escalating his war of words with California Governor Gavin Newsom, calling BS on a recent message from the governor's office concerning texts about the Pacific Palisades wildfires.
Remember ... Spencer watched the Palisades home he shared with wife Heidi and their 2 sons burn to the ground in a raging L.A. wildfire in January 2025.
Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.
In an Instagram post shared Monday, Spencer revealed a letter sent to him from Gov. Newsom's office, responding to his request for "all text messages to, from, and including Governor Gavin Newsom regarding the 'Pacific Palisades' or simply 'Palisades' between January 6, 2025, and January 9, 2025."
Miles Teller gave his wife Keleigh Sperry a little Christmas magic this holiday season ... gifting her a replica of her wedding dress which burned in the destructive Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year.
Sperry shared the video to social media Friday night ... showing his better half opening a big red box topped with a festive bow to find a dress zipped up in protective plastic. Keleigh instantly asks him if the dress she's holding is her wedding dress ... and Miles can't contain his excitement -- spoiling the surprise with a quick affirmative.
Keleigh becomes visibly emotional as she holds up the dress ... letting out a few sobs before Miles cuts off the video.
Milana Vayntrub is known for two things ... being the former face of AT&T's Lily Adams commercials, and her rack ... and she used both to raise a bunch of money for folks reeling from the Los Angeles wildfires.
The actress joined us on "TMZ Live" Wednesday and told us how she used some tastefully risqué photos to donate more than $500,000 for Altadena fire relief.
Milana says she was brainstorming ways to help victims back in January when a light bulb went off ... she would offer her fans sexy photos of her body in exchange for relief donations ... starting at one photo for $69 -- a "funny number," she says.
