New York Jets fans have a sense of hope with the NFL season nearly upon us ... and former Jets offensive lineman Willie Colon took a couple minutes to speak with TMZ Sports about their upcoming campaign -- and why the fans are so optimistic!
We caught up with the ex-guard out in NYC this week to get his thoughts ahead of Gang Green's 2025 season ... and he told us he's fired up for first-year head coach Aaron Glenn.
"I think Aaron Glenn was a great hire," he said. "Homegrown, played for the Jets. I got a lot of respect for him. I know a lot of people who played in his era are pulling for him."

Garrett Wilson just got a whole lot richer -- the New York Jets and their star wide receiver have reached an agreement on a massive four-year, $130 million extension through 2030!!
According to Adam Schefter, the deal includes $90 million guaranteed ... which means he'll earn an average of over $31 million per year.
It's quite the payday for the 24-year-old ... especially considering he's only played in the NFL for three seasons.

"I told every single one of the teams I talked to it ain't about the money, I'll play for 10 [million]," he said. "I never once said I need a multi-year deal. Thirty, 40 million dollars. It's absolute bulls***."

Aaron Rodgers' time with the New York Jets is officially over -- the team made the announcement it was moving on from the four-time MVP on Thursday ... saying it was time to move in a different direction at quarterback.
Newly-hired head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey released a joint statement on the decision minutes ago ... saying they met with AR8 last week and let him know of their plans.
"It was important to have this discussion now to provide clarity and enable each of us the proper time to plan for our respective futures."
Steelers' DeShon Elliott Rodgers Needs Retirement Home ... NOT Pittsburgh
Aaron Rodgers is likely moving to a new city this offseason, but one Steeler is hoping it's NOT Pittsburgh ... with safety DeShon Elliott taking to social media to say he'd rather see the superstar quarterback retire than be his new teammate.
Elliott -- a sixth-year safety for the Black and Gold -- was spotted in the comment section of an aggregator account on Instagram ... which stated Steel City was a potential landing spot for the four-time MVP.

The 41-year-old 4x NFL MVP QB opened up on the subject in his new three-part Netflix docuseries "Aaron Rodgers: Enigma," one of the only times he's publicly addressed the topic.
“At times when you have some dysfunction or some separation in your family life, you have to kind of re-parent yourself and give yourself what you didn’t get or wanted to hear more of when you were a kid, and I think for me, I just wanted to hear, ‘I’m proud of you,’" Rodgers said during the second episode of the series.
