Thomas Matthew Crooks -- the 20-year-old who clipped President Trump's ear during a 2024 rally -- allegedly texted with an "unknown contact" about 3D-printed parts ... a little over a year before the assassination attempt.
According to FBI Records obtained by Judicial Watch ... Crooks was texting with someone on February 9, 2023, who asked him ... "Did you 3D print the parts?"
The docs say the would-be assassin responded ... "Yes, except for the fan blades."
This exchange came after Crooks had sent something -- which was completely redacted in the records -- causing the mystery texter to say ... "woah that looks cool."

President Trump is giving Cornell the benefit of the doubt as the University deals with serious gang rape allegations ... and maybe it's one Ivy Leaguer looking out for another.
Trump -- a University of Pennsylvania grad -- was asked by reporters Thursday whether Cornell has done enough to investigate a former student's claim that she was drugged and sexually assaulted by Cornell frat bros.
POTUS replied ... "Well, I don't know that much about it, but I think Cornell's a fine school and I'm sure they'll do what's right."

The Disney CCO added ... "That's not to say that Jimmy is not doing a phenomenal job, and his ratings are up, but they're up relative to a smaller audience that's watching late night on broadcast television."
Working for House Speaker Mike Johnson has its perks ... you can plan a wonderful trip to Italy and France on the taxpayers' dime, and even try to visit a Ferrari factory ... but getting there is the problem.
NBC News obtained a draft itinerary for Johnson's top aide, Curt Beaulieu, and other staffers from both sides of the aisle, in which they mapped out their whole European journey they had planned for mid-October... just weeks before the midterm elections.
The report says the bipartisan staff was not only planning to visit the Ferrari factory near Bologna, Italy, but they were also going to make pit stops at high-end brand stores in either Milan or Florence before heading to France's Champagne region.
President Trump was asked point-blank whether Mitch McConnell should resign over his health ... but he never actually answered -- instead, he lit into TIME for asking him "negative" questions and dropped an F-bomb.
Trump sat down with the magazine at the White House on Monday, and TIMEbrought up recent videos of McConnell back in the Senate before asking whether the 84-year-old Kentucky senator should step down because of his health.
Rather than weigh in on Mitch, Trump veered into Joe Biden's pardons before turning his fire on the interview itself ... telling the outlet, "You haven't asked me one f***ing positive question."
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino is popping champagne in an A.I.-generated party video ... and even fellow Republicans think the celebration landed with a thud.

Jimmy Kimmel's taking aim at President Donald Trump's relationship with his assistant ... bringing in his own "assistant" who bears a striking resemblance to Natalie Harp.
The comedian was delivering his monologue Thursday night when a woman in a red dress, carrying a satchel and golf clubs, sprinted onto the stage to help him with whatever he needed.
Jimmy calls her his "assistant Natalie" ... no last name -- and she replies by calling him her "guardian" and "protector."

9:31 AM PT -- Politico and MS NOW have also now been allowed back in the White House.
9:07 AM PT -- CNN has been allowed back into the White House.
President Trump apparently didn't get the memo ... CNN and POLITICO say their reporters are still being denied access to the White House despite a judge ordering the administration to restore access.
As you know, the judge threw his support behind CNN, POLITICO and MS NOW by ruling Thursday that their journalists should immediately have their press credentials returned so they could enter the White House and cover the commander-in-chief.
The ruling came in early Thursday, but when CNN and POLITICO reporters showed up to the White House to do their jobs, they reportedly were turned away.
President Trump rolled out the red carpet for Chinese leader Xi Jinping for his state visit to Washington D.C. — personally greeting Xi when he landed Wednesday night — but then things took a ROARING turn for the worse!
That's right ... Trump got the shock of his life, it seems, while the two presidents were standing on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland as the U.S. military conducted a VERY LOUD flyover.
Check out the video ... Trump shoots a painful wince as U.S. Air Force jets roar overhead ... whereas Xi takes it all in stride, calmly looking up into the sky at the aircrafts with his wife, Peng Liyuan, by his side.
A federal judge has just ruled in favor of the news outlets the Trump administration kicked out of the White House.
Judge Timothy J. Kelly backed CNN, MS NOW and Politico in their fight against the executive branch. According to a ruling filed early Thursday morning, Kelly ruled the reporters' press credentials were revoked without providing "constitutionally adequate due process."
Kelly stated in the filing ... "The 'general rule' is that 'individuals must receive notice and an opportunity to be heard before the Government deprives them' of a constitutionally protected interest."
He'd previously noted the White House didn't give the reporters kicked out due process before revoking their access to the building, which he said runs counter to precedent.
The filing states the "hard pass" press credentials held by employees of CNN, MS NOW, and POLITICO that were revoked shall be "immediately" returned, reinstated, and restored until further Order of the Court or the expiration of the Temporary Restraining Order -- which is set to remain in effect for 14 days.
It was all Natalie Harp's fault that 3 major news organizations got banned from the White House ... after she reportedly showed President Trump clips of TV hosts ripping him.
Natalie put the final nail in the coffin for CNN, MS NOW and Politico when she showed the commander-in-chief all the negative stories the 3 media outlets had published about him ... according to the Wall Street Journal.
In particular, Natalie focused on TV news anchors bashing the administration during their broadcasts -- and Trump had seen enough by Friday, after watching an unfavorable MS NOW report.
