Well-placed sources tell TMZ Queen Latifah is getting in the middle of the Sarah Palin/Joe Biden VP debate by portraying last night's moderator, PBS journalist Gwen Ifill, on "SNL" this week.
For the third time this season, we're told Tina Fey will be back, hysterically not answering questions as Palin. You betcha! No word yet on who has been tapped to play Biden.
Thanks to Latifah -- and since "SNL" has no female African-American cast member -- the world is saved from seeing Amy Poehler in black face.

Ever since Sarah was added to John McCain's ticket, a syrah wine named Palin has been flying off the shelves -- so much so that a Houston company called Cepage Noir WIne Co. has run dry of the Chilean-made booze.
A clerk at Cepage said an entire case of the Palin special was sold to a lady who was throwing a politically-themed shindig.
A Republican party? Sounds like a hoot.

TMZ did some digging and found campaign records that show, since 1996, Hef contributed on 11 separate occasions to O.C. Rep. Loretta Sanchez, a Dem. On all occasions, he plunked down the max, which is currently $2,300.
In all, Hef's filled Loretta's coffers to the tune of $17,800.

John McCain has weighed in over Barack Obama's reported slap in the face to Lindsay Lohan. The Chicago Sun-Times quotes an unnamed high-level Barack source who says they rejected Lohan's offer to host an event because she "is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be a positive for us."
Tucker Bounds, a spokesman for the McCain campaign tells TMZ, "So let me get this straight -- they turned away Lindsay Lohan, but Barack Obama has friends like unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers and convicted felon Tony Rezko? Maybe LiLo is just too upstanding for Barack Obama."
UPDATE: Tommy Vietor, Obama's spokesperson, just told TMZ, "Glad to see they're focused on the important issues over in McCain HQ."
