Val Kilmer's health had seriously deteriorated near the end of his life ... leaving him unable to get out of bed for years before his death, TMZ has learned.

Family sources tell TMZ ... Val had a lack of energy related to his cancer treatment -- and, as a result, he was bed-bound for a long time.

While he was cancer-free, we're told his body simply couldn't keep fighting at the end ... and, his body eventually shut down.

Billy Zane is absolutely devastated over the loss of his former costar Val Kilmer ... telling us it was an honor to work with him on their 1993 Western "Tombstone."

TMZ caught up with Zane at LAX Wednesday, and he admitted he’s feeling pretty down over the tragic news of losing such a great actor.

Johnny Tillotson -- a well-known pop singer with multiple top 10 hits over the years -- has died ... TMZ has confirmed.

The songwriter's wife, Nancy, announced the news on her Facebook page Wednesday morning ... revealing the veteran musician passed away yesterday. Nancy highlighted Tillotson's many achievements through the years, and thanked his fans for always supporting her husband.

We spoke with Nancy, who tells TMZ ... Johnny died due to complications from Parkinson's, at his home in L.A., surrounded by family.

Cher's paying tribute to the only man who dumped her ... sharing a loving message to Val Kilmer months after revealing the megastar broke her heart back in the day.

The singer-songwriter took to X early Wednesday morning to shout out the actor who she calls "Valus" in her post ... kicking it off by saying he will be greatly missed.

Cher specifically highlights Kilmer's humor ... while joking he's was also a "pain in the ass." She adds he was a great friend, good with kids -- and incredibly brave while battling cancer.

Val Kilmer’s heartbreaking death shocked everyone -- especially the organizers of the Beverly Hills Film Festival, who were expecting him to attend right when news of his passing broke.

Nino Simone, the founder and president of the festival, expressed his shock Wednesday morning -- explaining it was only over the weekend that they confirmed Val’s attendance for the premiere of "American Badass: A Michael Madsen Retrospective" on Tuesday night.

Nino said Val was thrilled to come out and support his friend Michael ... but when it was time for Val's 7:30 PM red carpet arrival, organizers were on the phone trying to reach his driver.

Vittorio 'Vito' Pirbazari -- bodybuilder and actor from the popular Netflix show, "Dogs of Berlin" -- died suddenly on Monday after collapsing while running on a treadmill at the gym.

He was 44.

Actor and filmmaker Said Ibrahim revealed the sad news in an Instagram video, saying the death of his friend Vito "knocked me down and threw me completely off track."

In the clip, Ibrahim suggests Vito suffered a heart attack while at the gym, although it hasn't been confirmed.

Val Kilmer, star of "Top Gun," "The Doors" and several other classic films, died Tuesday in Los Angeles, according to his family.

Val's daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, told the New York Times -- which first reported the death -- her dad died of pneumonia. He had been diagnosed with a throat tumor back in 2014, and had to be rushed to UCLA Medical Center in 2015 to treat severe bleeding in his throat. The tumor was the result of oral cancer.

Val famously played the lead role of rock star Jim Morrison in the film about The Doors, and also starred as Bruce Wayne in "Batman Forever."

One of Val Kilmer's last Instagram posts before his shocking death is quite nostalgic -- it shows him putting on a Batman mask as he sits next to artwork of the beloved superhero.

Check out the clip ... Val -- who notoriously played Bruce Wayne in 1995's "Batman Forever" -- jokes it's "been a while" as he slides on the mask. He seems to approve of the splattered black and white rendition of the iconic mask ... striking a pose before picking it up to get a closer look.

His artist pal David Choe encourages him, telling him it looks "great."

2:47 PM PT -- Atlanta Police and the Fulton County Medical Examiner just released Young Scooter's autopsy results, listing his death as an "accident" ... putting to bed the narrative Young Thug pushed that his friend was shot.

Per the ME, Scooter suffered an injury to his right thigh from the wooden fence he jumped during the chase.

The woman who made the 911 call that led to the police altercation that eventually ended rapper Young Scooter's life is stepping forward with her side of the story ... and it's a completely different one than the one she told Atlanta Emergency Services!!!

Demi Blanco, a reality star contestant on the Zeus Network series "Baddies," went live on Instagram Tuesday and claimed she was being treated unfairly by social media users angry over Scooter's death because they didn't know the whole side of the story.

Demi claims she called 911 to "protect herself" ... a total contradiction of the call she made on March 28 when she urged cops to come stop a naked woman from being beaten outside an Atlanta home.

1:51 PM PT -- The resort is now saying the initial report of high levels of carbon monoxide in the Gardners's room was inaccurate ... as that was only the case in the "mechanical room" that is not available to guests.

"The levels in the hotel room were non-existent and non-lethal," the resort said in a statement to TMZ Sports.

The Costa Rican hotel where Brett Gardner's family vacationed is taking precautions amid the investigation into Miller's death ... with officials telling TMZ Sports it has blocked off their room from the public as officials look into whether carbon monoxide played a factor in the tragedy.

Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) director Rándall Zúñiga revealed in a press conference that high levels of carbon monoxide were detected in the Arenas Del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest resort room the Gardners reserved during their trip ... and noted a "specialized machine room" was located next to their reserved space, which could have led to contamination.

The resort tells us it will continue to cooperate with the investigation ... but "out of an abundance of caution, the room in question has been blocked until further notice."

Brett Gardner's 14-year-old son Miller may have died from carbon monoxide poisoning, Costa Rica's Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) announced Monday.

OIJ Director Rándall Zúñiga revealed via a press briefing high levels of carbon monoxide were detected in the Gardner family's hotel room at the Arenas Del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Resort in Manuel Antonio.

Zúñiga also noted in his native Spanish language that the family's room was located next to "a specialized machine room" which may have caused the contamination ... leading Miller to inhale a fatal amount of "these highly dangerous gases."

Young Scooter died last week on his 39th birthday fleeing from cops -- and we now have more insight as to why ... through a very suspicious 911 call.

Today, Atlanta police released the audio that summoned them to William Nye Drive on Friday, where an unnamed woman made several disturbing claims about what she observed outside the residence.

The female caller told cops she witnessed a naked woman being dragged out of the house in a dispute over drugs -- saying the unclothed woman eventually called more men over to shoot the place up.

2:02 PM PT The legal docs also state the photos of the bodies will remain sealed, and the autopsy and toxicology report can only be released if there are no photos of the bodies included.

Everything else, like pics of the dog and inside the property, are allowed.

Gene Hackman's mother-in-law is fighting to block the public release of police body camera footage from the investigation into the late actor's death.

Gene and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were found dead in their New Mexico estate last month and Betsy's mother, Yoshie Feaster, says the public spectacle and media coverage surrounding their death is traumatizing, and she wants to grieve in peace.

In legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Betsy's mom says Gene and her daughter considered personal privacy of the utmost importance, and she doesn't want the media getting their hands on photos and videos showing Gene and Betsy's living space, and their corpses.

David Hasselhoff didn’t attend his ex-wife Pamela Bach's funeral service over the weekend, TMZ has learned.

Sources tell TMZ that witnesses at the service say David was nowhere to be seen at the Saturday service for Pamela, which was held at the Bel Air Presbyterian Church.

When TMZ asked his rep why he didn’t attend, they declined to comment on the reason for his absence.

12:04 PM PT -- Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Jayden Dandridge was found shot multiple times in an abandoned building on March 27. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Science ruled his death a homicide. Houston PD detectives have not made any arrests, nor have they disclosed a motive.

Memphis Police are no longer pursuing the suspect they ID'ed on video in the Sauce Walka shooting that also killed rapper Sayso P ... because the guy is no longer alive!!!

Monday morning, Memphis Police announced 21-year-old Jayden Dandridge had been found deceased in Houston, Texas. No further details were released.

We obtained footage last week of Dandridge inside the stolen 2021 Dodge Charger 392 Scat Pack that was used in the murder.

Tributes have been pouring in following the death of martial arts legend and actor Richard Norton ... including from his friend Chuck Norris, who says he's "heartbroken" following Norton's death.

The 85-year-old took to social media ... where he shared several throwback photos of the two, including a pic from a fight scene they had in the movie, "The Octagon."

"The wonderful memories we shared will forever be cherished in my heart. Richard, you made me not only a better martial artist but a better person. You inspired so many, and your legacy and impact will continue to live on for generations to come," Norris wrote.
