Tragedy in Nashville -- an elderly woman was hit and killed by a truck this weekend ... and we have learned the driver was country singer Conner Smith.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Conner was behind the wheel of a Chevy Silverado heading north on 3rd Ave when 77-year-old Dorothy Dobbins was crossing the street Sunday -- and that’s when tragedy struck.

We're told Dobbins, a local resident, was in a marked crosswalk around 7:30 PM when she was hit. She was rushed to Vanderbilt Medical Center ... but sadly didn’t make it.

Sly Stone Dead at 82

Sly Stone -- the frontman for the legendary funk band Sly and The Family Stone -- has died Monday ... TMZ has learned.

Stone died Monday in Los Angeles, and his family released a statement saying he died from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and other health issues.

His family said Sly "passed away peacefully, surrounded by his three children, his closest friend, and his extended family," while taking "solace in knowing that his extraordinary musical legacy will continue to resonate and inspire for generations to come."

11:00 AM PT -- Las Vegas detectives identified Manuel Ruiz as the suspect. Ruiz walked into a Henderson police station and turned himself in on June 9, 2025. He was taken into custody and will be booked into the Clark County Detention Center for two counts of open murder with a deadly weapon.

The famous Las Vegas Strip turned into a double-murder scene Sunday ... after a gunman went on a rampage, fatally shooting two people in front of a crowd of stunned tourists.

Even more shocking ... the shooting was live-streamed on a YouTube channel as the violence was unfolding on the sidewalk outside the Bellagio Hotel.

Police plan to take Travis Decker -- the Washington man accused of savagely killing his three young daughters -- alive when they track him down ... despite the military veteran's dangerous reputation, and the fact he's possibly armed.

Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison tells TMZ it's unclear if Decker has weapons ... but they are tracking him diligently and hope to come into contact with him soon ... and their Plan A is to detain him peacefully.

Of course, it's possible Decker will get aggressive with authorities -- and Morrison says any use of force by law enforcement to neutralize a threat "will be determined by what is reasonable and necessary at the time."

Nations League Final Fan Dies After Fall From Upper Level

A soccer fan attending the Nations League Final has tragically passed away after falling from an upper level of the stadium in Munich.

The incident happened on Sunday, during the Spain vs. Portugal clash at Allianz Arena.

The fan tumbled roughly 26 feet onto some seating below as the teams were in the first period of extra time ... and while medical staff raced to render aid -- he, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries.

Travis Decker's search history contained a lot of questions about moving to Canada just before his daughters went missing ... according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

In a new affidavit filed earlier this week, Deputy Keegan Stanley of the U.S. Marshals Service explains officers obtained Decker's search history around the time the warrant for his arrest was issued.

On May 26, 2025, Stanley writes Decker allegedly searched several questions including ... "“how does a person move to canada”, “how to relocate to canada”, and "jobs canada."

Wayne Lewis -- an R&B singer best known for starting up the group Atlantic Starr -- has died ... according to a Facebook post put up by the band.

The band shared the announcement Friday ... letting fans know Wayne passed away Thursday.

They asked fans to respect his family's privacy at this time. A cause of death was not provided. We've reached out to the band for more information.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health released GW's death certificate Thursday.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus offered a full-throated mea culpa to the LGBTQ+ community on Thursday ... saying his department made a mistake by so quickly dismissing the hate crime allegation in the shooting death of Jonathan Joss.

The "King of the Hill" voice actor was shot to death Sunday night on his own property in the city, allegedly by neighbor Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez during a heated exchange ... but Joss' husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, called the shooting a homophobic hate crime. The next day ... police said in a statement there was no evidence of a hate crime.

Chief McManus told reporters on Thursday that the announcement was "way too premature" ... and he took full responsibility. In the same breath ... the chief reassured the LGBTQ+ community their safety was of the utmost importance to police.

The Kobe and Gianna Bryant mural in downtown L.A. -- just restored last week following previous vandalism -- has been defaced again ... and now the artist tells TMZ Sports he's likely going to move the artwork to a new location.

The mural, located (at least for the time being) on the side of a building at 14th and Main in DTLA, was targeted by vandals on Tuesday evening ... and we have video of the aftermath, showing white spray paint scribbled across the artwork.

The damage comes just four days after the artist, Sloe Motions, fixed his mural after an earlier incident of vandalism ... the apparent result of a feud between rival street artists.
