Chris Candy has a pretty good feeling about how his legendary dad, John Candy, would’ve reacted to his Dunkin' Super Bowl ad cameo ... and he clued TMZ in.

The late comedy star was also a die-hard football fan -- even co-owning the Toronto Argonauts -- so Chris tells TMZ his father would’ve been immensely proud and blown away by his part in the star-studded commercial during the big game.

Chris admits he had no idea he’d booked a Super Bowl commercial -- only weeks later, after production kept getting delayed by wildfires, did he realize how huge it was when he finally showed up on set ... and stars were all over the place, including Ben Affleck, who also directed the spot.

Veteran TV and film actor Peter Navy Tuiasosopo has died ... TMZ has learned.

Tuiasosopo's son, Manoah tells TMZ ... the actor died Monday morning in Phoenix, Arizona from heart complications. He notes Peter was "a trailblazer for Polynesian actors in Hollywood."

Tuiasosopo's son posted on Facebook ... "My dad lived an amazing life and in no way does his impact stop here ... His strength, love, compassion, and kindness will forever be felt."

Kanye West pulled some very expensive, very antisemitic wool over the eyes of FOX when he purchased his Super Bowl Sunday TV ad ... TMZ has learned.

The 30-second spot, which Kanye says he shot on his iPhone, shocked a lot of viewers ... seeing as how the rapper had just gone on a horrible antisemitic rant -- flatly declaring on Friday, "I'm a Nazi."

Sources with direct knowledge tell us FOX actually approved the ad Friday to air Sunday in 3 markets -- L.A., Philly and Atlanta -- but that process was purely based on 2 things ... the content of the ad, and the website it was promoting, yeezy.com.
