Alicia Silverstone had fans freaking out over her health ... with some even asking if she was still alive ... after she munched on what they identified as a poisonous berry.

The actress was clearly, ahem, "Clueless" about her snack choice ... revealing in a TikTok clip Monday she had no idea what the orange berry was that she picked from a random bush in someone's yard during her latest UK adventure.

Alicia admitted she'd already taken a bite to figure out it wasn't a cherry tomato ... but gave it another chomp on camera, saying it kinda tasted like a pepper.

Her toxicology report found no signs of alcohol ... but she did test positive for Diphenhydramine -- a common antihistamine, marketed as Benadryl among other brand names -- and Mitragynine ... an alkaloid often used for pain management.

Tim Healey -- who's been writing about The Amazins for years -- said that after Haliey Welch toed the rubber and kicked off the festivities at Citi Field ... he was told he couldn't spit out anything further regarding her appearance.

Healey didn't specify why -- but it's easy to infer his honchos believe an explanation of Welch's claim to fame is just a little too X-rated for their readers.
