Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... the actor recently toured a castle in Montalto Dora, Italy -- a small town with a little over 3,000 people living there -- as a potential addition to his real estate portfolio. However, we're told nothing is official ... but he is considering a buy.
The castle is valued at about $4 million, and it's for sale ... if he is interested in claiming it as his own.
"The Real Housewives of Orange County" star Kelly Doddand her husband, Rick Leventhal are pulling up stakes and lookin' to invest heavily on the West Coast ... listing their Hamptons home for $1.2 million.
Kelly and Rick, a former senior correspondent at Fox News, listed their home for $1,199,000 on Friday ... a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Westhampton a stone's throw from the beach.

Diddy's alleged "mule" -- as described in a recent lawsuit -- was arrested Monday while Diddy and his crew were stopped by federal law enforcement agents ... TMZ has confirmed.
According to the affidavit, obtained by TMZ, 25-year-old Brendan Paul was booked on two separate drug charges after the feds intercepted Diddy's plane at the Opa Locka Airport in Miami -- namely, one count of possession of suspected cocaine and another of possession of suspected marijuana candy ... both of which are felonies in Florida.
In the paperwork, officers claim that while they were working in conjunction with Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection personnel ... they came across what they describe as the suspected drugs in Paul's travel bags, which they say he claimed.

1:42 PM PT -- TMZ has obtained extra footage of cops on the scene near Diddy's L.A.-area home -- and it looks like officers have shut down the entire area ... with helicopters swarming up above. There are at least two choppers in the area, and a lot of police on the ground.
