Tom Petty Died From Massive Accidental Drug OD

1/19/2018 3:51 PM PST
EXCLUSIVE

Tom Petty's autopsy results are in, and they show the singer died from an accidental drug overdose as a result of taking a variety of medications.

The L.A. County Coroner says a number of Tom's organs failed due to "mixed drug toxicity."

The autopsy report says when paramedics arrived he was in full cardiac arrest, but CPR revived him -- but on the way to the hospital he lost pulse for 20 minutes. He went into cardiac arrest a second time in the hospital and died 21 hours after being admitted.

Tom's autopsy report shows the singer was on several pain meds, including Fentanyl patches, oxycodone (Oxycontin), temazepam (Restoril), alprazolam (Xanax), citalopram (Celexa), acetyl fentanyl and despropionyl fentanyl. The reason doctors prescribed the meds was because of a number of medical problems, including emphysema, knee problems and a fractured hip.

The family says the linchpin to Tom's demise was the fractured hip. He insisted on touring for 53 concert dates with the condition, which worsened over time and caused him to take the meds. On the date he had the heart attack he was told his hip had graduated to a full-on break that made the pain unbearable and may have caused the overuse of meds.

The autopsy says Petty suffered from coronary artery atherosclerosis.

As we reported ... Tom's official death certificate left his cause of death as "deferred," leaving it as a mystery until now.

We broke the story ... Tom went into full cardiac arrest before being taken to a hospital in L.A. He eventually died when his family took him off life support.

Fentanyl was also linked to the deaths of Prince and Lil Peep.

Tom was 66.

EXCLUSIVE

Too Short is being accused of sexual battery ... TMZ has learned.

The rap legend is facing a lawsuit ... filed Friday in Los Angeles by a woman named Teana Louis. According to docs, obtained by TMZ, Teana says Too Short sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions ... between June and October of 2016.

In the suit, she says the attacks included forced oral sex, vaginal sex and sodomy.

Teana says she and Short met in December 2015, and eventually produced a song together in April 2016. She claims that's when he made the first unwanted advances. She claims the first assault went down in June when they went to a hotel room in Downtown L.A.

According to the docs, Too Short threw her onto the bed, held her down, undressed her and began performing oral sex on her. She claims subsequent incidents happened in hotel rooms or the studio. She claims on one occasion he told her, "I'm just going to put the tip in" ... and, although she said, "No, please no" ... he continued. In the suit, she says he held her down during vaginal sex -- she was left bleeding -- and then "brutally sodomized" her.

She's suing for sexual battery, sexual harassment, gender violence, gender discrimination and false imprisonment.

Mo'Nique vs. Netflix They Lowballed My Negotiations 'Cause I'm a Black Woman

1/19/2018 2:05 PM PST
EXCLUSIVE

Mo'Nique claims Netflix severely short-changed her during negotiations for a comedy special ... and she says the proof is in how much some other comedians got paid for specials.

The Oscar winner told us Friday ... Netflix offered her $500k, but she rejected the offer in light of the fact Amy Schumer, Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock pocketed eight figures. Mo'Nique's not just walking away from the table though ... she's now calling for a boycott of Netflix.

She strongly believes this is case of racism and sexism -- especially because she'd stack her resume in comedy up against anyone else.

Netflix says it does not comment on contract negotiations.

Roy Halladay Autopsy Traces of Morphine In System at Time of Crash

1/19/2018 12:53 PM PST
EXCLUSIVE

TMZ Sports has obtained Roy Halladay's autopsy report -- in which the coroner lists the cause of death as blunt trauma and drowning ... but points out the MLB star had morphine in his system.

The 40-year-old died in a single passenger plane crash in the Gulf of Mexico back in November. As we previously reported, Halladay was flying in an erratic pattern shortly before the crash.

The toxicology results show Halladay had zolpidem (the generic name for Ambien), as well as morphine in his system at the time of the crash. The tests also came back positive for amphetamines.

One source familiar with the autopsy tells us the results are consistent with someone who uses Rx medication.

One thing of note ... the FDA lists on its website that more than 50 ng/ml of zolpidem "appears capable of impairing driving to a degree that increases the risk of a motor vehicle accident."

Halladay's blood tested positive for 72 ng/ml.

The autopsy report notes that morphine can be found in the system as a result of heroin use -- however sources tell us there is no indication Halladay had been using heroin or any other "clandestine drug."

The report also shows Hallday suffered a subdural hemorrhage in the crash -- along with multiple rib fractures and lung, liver and spleen injuries. He also had a leg fracture.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Dept. reported at the time that Roy was the only person aboard the ICON A5 light-sport aircraft when it went down.

The 8-time MLB All-Star was a pitcher for the Phillies and the Blue Jays and a two-time Cy Young Award winner during his 16-year career.. He's one of only 2 players in MLB history to throw a no-hitter in the playoffs. He also pitched a perfect game for the Phillies in 2010.

Jesse Williams Slammed With More Spousal Support

1/19/2018 9:26 AM PST
EXCLUSIVE

Jesse Williams just got hit hard ... a judge just signed off on a huge hike in spousal support he'll have to pay his estranged wife -- going from $33k to $50k per month.

Aryn Drake-Lee had gone to court to ask for the increase based on his ability to pay. She and Jesse hammered out the agreement, and the judge approved it earlier this month.

The divorce has been incredibly acrimonious ... particularly after he was linked to Minka Kelly.

The exact amount of the new spousal support obligation is $50,695 per month.

Under the new order, Aryn is responsible for paying all mortgage obligations and various other expenses related to the family home.

She's also getting half of Jesse's residuals from Sept., 2012, to April, 2017 for "Grey's Anatomy" and other projects.

And Jesse is required to give her a $50k advance for lawyer's fees related to their divorce.

EXCLUSIVE

Tom Brady's finger won't stop him from being his terrific self on Sunday ... so says his ex-teammate, Troy Brown, who's telling Pats fans to CHIIIIILLL, 'cause Brady is tough as nails.

Brady suffered a mystery injury during practice this week -- and it's unclear how serious (or not serious) the injury really is. Some are speculating he badly dislocated a finger.

We talked to Troy Brown, Brady's teammate for 7 years -- winning 3 Super Bowls -- who COMPLETELY brushed off the idea that TB would be affected by the setback.

"The guy's tough as nails, I think the last time he missed a game it was an ACL tear. Regardless of what's going on with his hand, his finger, whatever it is, relax people Tom Brady's gonna be fine on Sunday."

Now everyone in Boston can breathe easy, and everyone outside of Boston can be pissed.

"Wind River" star Kelsey Asbille straight-up blames Hollywood for having to change her last name from Chow ... it was the only way to survive in this town.

We got Kelsey at LAX Thursday and asked her why she changed her last name. Kelsey's pretty straight forward -- "Chow" woulda pigeonholed her to limited roles ... AKA playing the Chinese woman role.

Kelsey changed her last name in 2017 to Kelsey Asbille and landed "Wind River" ... in which she plays a Native American. She says that ain't problematic at all ... and explains why.
