Prince 911 Caller May Have Big Criminal Issues

5/5/2016 1:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

504-prince-andrew-kornfeldThe man who called 911 in Prince's death could face criminal prosecution if he was expecting to get paid for helping the singer ... and it all comes down to the pills in his backpack.

The lawyer for Andrew Kornfeld -- whose dad runs a rehab facility in Marin County, California -- says his client is entitled to immunity from prosecution because he was acting as a Good Samaritan.

The issue -- Andrew had a synthetic opiate in his backpack, and he's not a doctor. Our sources say investigators are keenly interested in knowing why Andrew brought the pills. They are often used to wean people off drugs like Percocet -- the opiate which fueled Prince's addiction.

Andrew's attorney points to a Minnesota law that protects people who might be committing drug crimes from being prosecuted if they call 911. The idea is to give people an incentive to help others in dire need without fear of prosecution.

Here's the problem. Under the law, the person who calls 911 does NOT get immunity if they receive or expect to receive compensation for picking up the phone and making the call. It's unclear if Andrew and his dad were going to get paid, but the recovery center charges for its services, so it's a good bet they were expecting compensation.

As for the drugs in the backpack ... even if Andrew's dad prescribed the drug for Prince, our DEA sources say it's illegal for anyone to take the drugs across state lines and deliver drugs in states where the doctor is not board certified.

Miesha Tate Best Thing About Trump ... We Both Hate Ronda!

5/5/2016 12:50 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

When it comes to policy, Miesha Tate says Donald Trump has one thing 100% right ... his blinding hatred for Ronda Rousey!

Tate says she's not ready to give her official endorsement to Trump -- but it's clear The Donald scored some serious points with Miesha when he blasted Ronda on Twitter last year.

In case you forgot, Trump was all about rubbing salt in Ronda's wound after her loss to Holly Holm -- tweeting, "Glad to see that @RondaRousey lost her championship fight last night. Was soundly beaten - not a nice person!"

Miesha loved it.

There's more ... we asked Tate if it'll be tough to concentrate on her UFC 200 opponent Amanda Nunes -- knowing that Dana White recently said Ronda has dibs on the winner.

Miesha insists she's locked in and laser-focused on Nunes -- and says in her mind, Rousey is currently "irrelevant."

Despite the hostility, Tate says she is happy for Ronda's progress and wants her to continue to get better ... because the rematch "needs to happen."

Translation -- get well soon so I can beat your ass.

'Crash' Director Paul Haggis Divorce Has Me Writing More Checks Than Movies

5/5/2016 12:40 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

504-tear-paul-haggis-tmz-gettyOscar winner Paul Haggis finalized his divorce, but his now ex-wife will continue reaping the benefits of his success.

The "Crash" director reached his divorce settlement with Deborah ... and according to the docs, he'll pay her $20k a month in spousal support. The exes have a 17-year-old son, and Paul will pay another $5k per month for child support, and foot the bill for the kid's schooling -- high school and college.

Additionally, the settlement calls for Deborah to get a hefty slice of Haggis' income -- 20% of anything he makes over $1.2 million per year. That's on top of the monthly $20k check.

Paul's walking away with one of their 2 NYC SoHo apartments and 3 Florida properties.

Fred Durst Selling His Hollywood Hills Nook-ie

5/5/2016 12:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0502_fred_durst_house_launchLimp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst is ditching the Hollywood Hills home he barely owned for a year.

Durst bought the 3 bedroom, 3 bath home in December 2014 for $1.5 million. Now, he's put it back on the market for $1.625 million, so at least moving costs will be covered if he makes a profit.

The home is in the famed Beachwood Canyon 'hood -- a celeb fave -- and the big draw is the outdoor courtyard with fireplace. Inside ... check out the wine cellar ... it could use some work though.

No word on where Durst is moving -- he's pretty good at keeping big secrets

Martin Shkreli Pissed About 50 Cent Bullying ... DONATES $10k!!

5/4/2016 3:40 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0504-jackson-farrell-shkreli-tmz-instagram-twitter-01Plot twist: hated pharma exec Martin Shkreli actually has a few good bones in his body.

We've learned Shkreli donated $10,000 to Autism Speaks after contacting the family of Andrew Farrell, the autistic airport worker who 50 Cent brutally mocked on video.

TMZ broke the story ... Farrell's family attorney wants 50 to cough up $10k for the autism advocacy group. So far they've only received an apology.

We're told Shkreli felt an emotional connection to the story -- he has several close friends and a family member who are autistic. Shkreli tells us his companies are trying to develop new, desperately necessary, treatments for autism.

Farrell's family attorney says Shkreli offered to donate the money directly -- but instead they opted to start a GoFundMe campaign. Shkreli will seed it with his $10k, and he's inviting the public to add onto the amount.

This won't help Shkreli in federal court -- where he's still facing securities fraud charges -- but his karma just got a boost.

'Sisters in Law' Star Prince's Death Could Change Laws

5/4/2016 2:48 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Prince's death is creating a unique issue for Minnesota lawmakers ... in the eyes of a prominent attorney with a reality TV show.

Rhonda Wills, one of the attorneys from "Sisters In Law" on WE tv, weighed in on the mad scramble to cash in on Prince's name and likeness ... and pointed out there's never been a situation like this in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

Check out the clip ... she's strongly hinting it might be time for a change. Of course, Rhonda practices law in Texas, not Minnesota -- but 'Sisters' fans know ... she tends to get what she wants.

Donnell Rawlings Wilmore Doesn't Have 'Hood Pass To Drop N Word on Prez

5/4/2016 1:11 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Donnell Rawlings is laying down the law on who gets to drop "my n****" -- on the President or anyone else -- and says Larry Wilmore is in clear violation.

We caught up with the comedian outside Fred Segal, and he schooled us on why he thinks Wilmore crossed the line with the now infamous shout-out to Barack Obama.

Check out the video ... 'cause Donnell really went off when our camera guy asked if Obama is licensed to use the word.

50 Cent Family Wants $10k for Autism Bullying

5/4/2016 11:54 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0504_50cent_Andrew-Farrells_tmz-instagramThe family of the autistic teen 50 Cent bullied still wants the rapper to open up his wallet, but this time it's for a good cause and far less cash ... the family's attorney tells TMZ.

Attorney Matthew J. Hammer says Andrew Farrell and his family want 50 to cough up $10k for Autism Speaks, an autism advocacy group.

The donation is far less than the $1 million Andrew's stepdad was first eyeing.

We're told Andrew and his family received 50's signed, albeit short apology Tuesday via an email after news broke of Andrew's disabilities and were happy he said sorry.

As we reported, 50 got in Andrew's face at an airport accusing him of working while on drugs, when in fact he's autistic and is also afflicted by Asperger's.

50 has yet to answer back about the $10k donation.

Yasiel Puig Chopper Plans Grounded Dodgers Heli-Disapproved

5/4/2016 11:05 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0504-yasiel-puig-instagram-02Yasiel Puig's dream of getting a helicopter to help him beat L.A. traffic isn't getting off the ground after all ... and it's all because the Dodgers didn't think it was a good idea.

Puig's close friend and personal car customizer, Alex Vega, had previously told us Puig was dead serious about buying a chopper ... a la Kobe ... and had already drawn up plans to pimp it out.

But the Dodgers weren't as keen on the idea as Puig was ... and according to Vega, team reps strongly advised him against the purchase.

"The Dodgers told him he couldn't have it ... It was causing so much distraction they didn't want him to get it."

We reached out to the Dodgers -- they had no comment.

Btw, federal law prohibits Puig from flying a helicopter to Dodger Stadium anyway ... so, he'd have to land nearby and fight traffic to the park like everyone else ... which defeats the purpose.

Cold world.

5/4/2016 9:17 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Kobe Bryant might wanna think twice about the whole retirement thing ... 'cause Diamond Dallas Page says his yoga plan might be able to extend his career -- just like he did for WWE legend Chris Jericho!

Page just got off a plane from Australia when he told us he'd LOOOOVE to get Kobe into his trademark "DDP Yoga" program ... specifically created for athletes who suffered injuries from high impact sports.

DDP says it's worked for wrestlers ... so, why not give it a shot with an NBA player?

BONUS -- to prove how damn limber he is, 60-year-old Page also pulls his leg over his head in the middle of the airport!!!

It's actually pretty impressive stuff ... BANG!

U.S. Treasurer Rosa Rios Goes Hollywood ... Silent On Future Obama Currency

5/4/2016 9:36 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

President Obama handpicked Rosa "Rosie" Rios to be the 43rd Treasurer of the United States ... so you'd think she'd have a quick answer when asked if BO's got a shot at being on U.S. currency.

We got the treasurer out at Craig's where she was Hollywood hobnobbing with legendary songwriter Diane Warren and 'Sopranos' star Lorraine Bracco.

Rios was appropriately proud when we asked her about Harriet Tubman getting on the $20 bill -- she spearheaded that movement, after all. Our follow-up about our current prez possibly making it onto a bill ... didn't go over that smoothly.

Watch, it seems like she's trying to blow off the question.

As for why she's hanging with celebs? Rosa's days in D.C. are likely just as numbered as her boss'.

Wes Craven Scream of an Offer Nabs Hollywood Hills Pad

5/4/2016 8:15 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0503-wes-craven-home-gallery-launch-03"A Nightmare on Elm Street" director Wes Craven is still raking in the dough after his death -- his Hollywood Hills home just sold for almost $250k above asking price.

The 3 bedroom, 3 bath pad was listed for $3.295 mil in April and was quickly sold for $3.535 mil ... with "Million Dollar Listing" stars Josh and Matt Altman as its listing agents.

The pad used to be owned by Steve McQueen -- and Wes, who died last summer, bought it in 1992. The genius behind horror classics like "Scream" actually had a pretty zen crib -- gardens, fountains, 2 koi ponds, saltwater pool and spa and amazing views.

The Hills have buys.
