Braves Pitcher Anibal Sanchez Hotel Room Burglarized ... During Dodgers Game

Atlanta Braves pitcher Anibal Sanchez had his hotel room burglarized this weekend while he was on the mound against the Dodgers ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us Sanchez's room was broken into Saturday night while the RHP pitched against the boys in blue as the Braves were in L.A. We're told Sanchez was staying at a hotel near DTLA, and that there doesn't appear any forced entry to his suite.

Sources say more than $100,000 in jewelry were stolen from Sanchez's room, which included 4 watches, among other items. Police are currently investigating the matter.

Definitely a bummer for Sanchez, considering he pitched well against the Dodgers and walked away with a victory for the Braves. He's also fairly new to the team ... not the greatest way to kick things off.

MLB's Bobby Cox Chipper Jones Deserves HOF ... Because He Saved My Job

CHIPPER WORDS
TMZSports.com

Legendary Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox says he's got a special place in his heart for newly minted Hall of Famer Chipper Jones ... cause he says the dude saved his job.

To be fair, Chipper owes a lot to Cox, too ... Bobby was general manager of the Braves when Jones was drafted #1 overall in 1990, and the two won a World Series together five years later.

That might be why Cox -- who most believe is the greatest manager in Braves history -- gave it up to Jones when we got him in Atlanta this past weekend.

"Well, he saved my job. He was that good."

Before you think Cox is just being nice, remember that he drafted Jones in his SECOND stint as Braves manager, after being fired the first go around.

So maybe he's got a point ...

Terrifying video of Atlanta Braves infielder Sean John Rodriguez ... whose SUV was t-boned by a stolen cop car while driving with his family.

It all went down in Miami on Saturday ... Rodriguez and his family were just on a regular outing in their black Chevy Suburban when the stolen cop car plowed into them and exploded into flames.

The suspect had allegedly stolen the car from a nearby restaurant after distracting the officers -- and was speeding off when he crashed into Rodriguez. The suspect was killed in the crash.

Rodriguez appeared okay -- his wife and 2 children (8 years old and 2 years old) were hospitalized. The kids are in serious but stable condition. His wife is in fair condition ... according to our friends at WSVN.com.

A good Samaritan on scene saw the crash and helped pull the family out of the car.

The Braves issued a statement saying their thoughts and prayers are with the Rodriguez family.

MLB Star Hector Olivera Post-Defection Perfection ... $50k To Pimp Out Maybach

PIMP MY RIDE
TMZSports.com

Braves slugger Hector Olivera just came to America a year ago, but he's clearly exercising his freedom of swag ... dropping $50k to pimp out his 2016 Maybach.

Hector signed a 6 year, $62 million deal earlier this year, and dropped a chunk on the ride. But standard features weren't enough. He went to the Auto Firm in Miami to make it truly special.

Auto Firm boss, Alex Vega, says he added red and black Avorza "Honeycomb" leather, AV9 custom 23 inch wheels, plus state-of-the-art navigation and rear entertainment systems.

FYI -- the Maybach set Hector back $200k, so there's only one thing we can say about spending an extra $50k just to make it your own ...

God Bless America.

Matt Kemp Hobbles on Crutches, But Positive Dodgers Will Win

This video of Dodgers superstar Matt Kemp -- limping around on crutches -- is gonna make you really sad ... or really pumped up for the baseball playoffs.

Talk about bittersweet ... the Dodgers are heading into the playoffs, but Kemp will be benched due to a swollen bone in his foot.

So, last night when we caught Matt gingerly making his way into a movie theater he confessed ... "I'm sad" -- but then added a prediction about the Dodgers' NLDS against the Atlanta Braves.

In Kemp's words ... "We gonna win."

And you gotta hear the alternative medicine tip Matty got -- albeit from our camera guy -- but ya never know. Miracle comeback?

Ex MLB Star Andruw Jones Christmas Day Bust for Domestic Violence

Former New York Yankees slugger Andruw Jones' Christmas Day started out behind bars -- police in Georgia arrested him for an alleged domestic violence incident involving his wife ... following their Christmas Eve party.

According to the incident report, obtained by TMZ, Andruw's wife called police at 1:30 yesterday morning, claiming Andruw drunkenly attacked her in their Duluth, GA home following the holiday get together, dragging her through their garage and choking her.

Andruw's wife told police she had asked him to help her set up for Christmas morning after the party -- including assembling a computer desk -- and Andruw grew belligerent ... grabbing her and attacking her.

According to the report, when police arrived at the couple's home, they found the baseball player passed out in bed, still dressed in his clothes from earlier in the day. Officers then woke Andruw up and placed him under arrest.

According to Gwinnett County jail records ... Jones was booked for battery and released on a $2,500 bond.

35-year-old Jones starred with the Braves, Dodgers, White Sox, Rangers ... and last season with the Yankees. He just signed a deal to play in Japan next year.
