Adam Carolla is one of many people caught in the uncertainty of the L.A. wildfires, unsure if his Malibu home is still standing -- but he says, unfortunately, it comes with the territory when you live there.
The comedian joined "TMZ Live" from Las Vegas Thursday, where he's performing, and didn’t hold back ... saying if people choose to live in fire-prone areas, like Malibu, that’s their prerogative -- and he believes they will go back and rebuild.
However, he says he gets it if insurance companies don't want to cover people living in a "place that's gonna catch on fire every 15 minutes."

Former Olympic swimmer Gary Hall Jr. says fleeing from the L.A. wildfires this week was a horrifying experience -- as he had only seconds to get out -- and it's clear he's disappointed he couldn't save his Games medals as he hastily evacuated.
The 50-year-old -- who earned 10 pieces of hardware in the 1996, 2000 and 2004 Olympics -- sat down with Harvey and Charles on Thursday's "TMZ Live" to detail how he escaped the flames that have been ravaging L.A. this week ... and he said it was everything but easy.
Hall Jr. says the blaze came on him and his house so quickly -- he only had "probably tops of three minutes" to get some belongings and get out.

Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick was among the many citizens who lost their homes to the devastating wildfires this week, according to reports.
The first-year manager revealed his family was forced to evacuate the Pacific Palisades amid the blaze earlier this week ... while sharing his loved ones were "freaking out."

Celebrities continue to lose their homes amid the wildfires torching Los Angeles, and TMZ has learned of three more stars whose properties have been completely destroyed.
Jeff Bridges' rep confirms to us his Malibu home he shares with his family was tragically lost in the Pacific Palisades fire. The 4-bedroom home with views of the Pacific Ocean has been in the Bridges family for generations and was inherited by Jeff, his brother -- actor Beau Bridges -- and their sister.
Candy Spelling is also reeling from the tragedy after losing her home on Malibu's Pacific Coast Highway. Candy tells TMZ ... "I’m in shock and processing this massive loss for our family. I am beyond grateful for the memories. It was truly a wonderful gift to have."
