Green Bay Mayor Tells NFL Honcho Get These Refs Out!

Published | Updated

The Mayor of Green Bay is so pissed about last night's game -- where replacement refs ROBBED the Packers of a win -- he's going straight to the NFL's head honcho to demand the real refs get back on the job ... TMZ has learned.

Mayor James Schmitt tells TMZ he's drafting a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell ... urging him to end the ref lockout because it's compromising the integrity of the NFL.

Exhibit A -- last night's refs robbing the Packers of a win by incorrectly calling Green Bay's interception in the endzone ...a touchdown for the Seattle Seahawks. The Pack lost 14-12.

Schmitt says, "This is not right. I understand talent costs money, but when it comes to the crucial role of the referees ... it has to be a top priority."

Hizzoner is in a unique position because he's also a shareholder in the Green Bay Packers -- the only NFL team publicly owned.

But the Mayor makes it clear ... "We are not protesting losing the game. We are protesting the quality of officiating."

Church.

Packers T.J. Lang Curses Out Refs Dares NFL to Fine Him

Published | Updated

Green Bay Packers guard T.J. Lang must love throwing away money -- 'cause after last night's disastrous ending to the Packers-Seahawks game, he blasted the refs with a tweet that's gonna cost him a ton o' cheese.

In case you missed what EVERYONE is talking about ... Monday Night Football ended with the biggest blown call in NFL history -- the Packers intercepted a Seahawks Hail Mary pass in the endzone, but the replacement refs (unbelievably) said Seattle's Golden Tate simultaneously caught it ... thereby screwing the Packers.

Lang immediately hit up his Twitter page after the game, saying ... "Got f**ked by the refs.. Embarrassing. Thanks nfl"

Knowing full well that tweet would cost him ... Lang followed up with, "F**k it NFL.. Fine me and use the money to pay the regular refs."

No word yet from Commissioner Roger Goodell's office on just how much Lang will be fined -- it WILL be a lot.

But considering how badly the refs blew the call, we gotta ask ...

Aaron Rodgers I'm a Giant Chicken ... Sandwich

Published | Updated

If the guys from Boyz II Men are still hungry for justice ... they can finally take a bite out of Aaron Rodgers at their L.A. concert tonight ... where a food vendor is serving up an item in his honor ... a big, fat chicken sandwich.

B2M has a show at the L.A. County Fair in Pomona ... and to remind the group that Rodgers is still refusing to wear the 49ers jersey he's obligated to sport after losing a friendly bet in Week 1 ... a sports bar at the fairgrounds called Finish Line Sports is serving a special Aaron Rodgers Cry Baby Chicken Club.

The bar owner tells us each ARCBCC will be served on San Francisco sourdough bread ... with 49er fries on the side.

For the record, Rodgers acknowledged making the bet ... tried to weasel out of paying up ... and is now hoping everyone will simply forget it ever happened.

Never forget.

Boyz II Men Singer We'll Find a Way to Make Aaron Rodgers Pay!

Published | Updated

Boyz II Men singer Shawn Stockman is refusing to let Aaron Rodgers off the hook -- telling TMZ, the band plans to come up with an alternative solution for the NFL star to satisfy his debt if he continues to duck out of the jersey bet.

As we reported, Rodgers has publicly wussed out of his bet with Boyz II Men, in which the Packers QB agreed to wear a 49ers jersey if he lost to the Red and Gold at Lambeau last week ... which he did.

Stockman called the wager a "friendly all-in-fun bet" -- but said if Rodgers continues to refuse to fulfill his end of the deal, the band will come up with another way for Rodgers to pay his debt.

It might not entail a Niners jersey -- but it sure as hell won't be easy either.

Ronnie Lott Aaron Rodgers Should 'Man Up' ... Wear 49ers Jersey!

Published | Updated

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers needs to "man up" and stop trying to weasel out of the bet he made with Boyz II Men ... this according to NFL Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott.

Lott is no stranger to friendly wagers -- the 49ers legend tells us he used to make similar fun bets with Huey Lewis back in his playing days ... and would always HONOR them when he lost.

And since Aaron lost his bet with B2M -- and should have to wear an Alex Smith 49ers jersey -- Lott tells us the QB needs to pay up soon ... or else it could haunt him later in the season.

“I have a feeling it will bother him the next time he plays the Niners. If they meet again this season, it will bother him.” SF and GB aren't scheduled to play against each other during the regular season -- but many expect them to face off in the NFC Championship game.

Lott tells us he wouldn't be surprised if Boyz II Men gave Rodgers a shot at a "double-or-nothing" bet later this year to clear his debt.

Still , Lott says, "This is not over ... you know it's not over."

Aaron Rodgers Yeah, I Made That Bet ...      But I'm Totally WUSSING OUT!

Aaron Rodgers doesn't seem to understand the way bets work -- because even though he LOST a wager to Boyz II Men ... he's now trying to weasel his way out of paying up ... by throwing TMZ under the bus.

We broke the story ... the Green Bay Packers star agreed to a friendly bet with the guys from Boyz II Men -- if he lost to the 49ers, he had to wear an Alex Smith jersey the following week.

Well, the Pack lost ... and Boyz II Men told us they were confident the NFL star would hold up his end of the bargain.

But earlier today, Rodgers addressed the media -- and when he was asked about the wager, he sounded like a man trying to get out of donning his rival's jersey.

"There's nothing to that," Rodgers said ... adding, "That got blown way out of proportion."

Still, Rodgers DID acknowledge a bet was made ... saying, "It was at best a joke between friends, and, unfortunately, the great reporting of TMZ blew another one."

What did we blow? You made a bet ... you lost ... now you're not living up to it.

In fact, check out the tweet Boyz II Men posted in the final minutes of Sunday's game ... which reads, "Pressing the jersey now!"

Aaron, if anybody blew it ... it was you.

Boyz II Men Aaron Rodgers WILL Pay ... But it Could Take A While

Aaron Rodgers has a date with a 49ers jersey after losing a bet with the guys from Boyz II Men ... but the singers tell TMZ, they're willing to give him some time to prepare himself to pay up.

Singer Nathan Morris tells us, “Green Bay has another huge game [against the Bears] in 3 days so ... we understand where his head is, so I know he's focusing on that game.”

According to Nathan, Aaron promised to post the pic of himself wearing a 49ers jersey on his Twitter account if he lost against San Francisco ... which he did yesterday ... 30-22.

Nathan -- the biggest 49ers fan in the group -- is confident Aaron will hold up his end of the bargain, telling us, "Aaron might be one of the classiest guys we know.”

Tick tock, Aaron.

Aaron Rodgers Packers QB Could End Up In 49ers Uniform on Monday

Published | Updated

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has agreed to a deal that could land him in a 49ers jersey on Monday morning ... and it's all thanks to the guys from Boyz II Men.

TMZ has learned ... Rodgers and the R&B legends are actually friends ... and recently, Aaron asked the guys if they would sing the National Anthem at the season opener at Lambeau Field on Sunday.

But before the guys would agree to sing, Nathan Morris (the guy with the deep voice) had one MAJOR demand.

Turns out, Morris is a bigtime 49ers fan ... and proposed a friendly bet to the QB -- if SF wins, Rodgers MUST WEAR an Alex Smith 49ers jersey for the remainder of the week.

If GB wins, Morris has agreed to wear a Rodgers jersey.

A rep for the band confirms ... Aaron accepted the challenge and Boyz II Men agreed to perform at the game.

The stakes are pretty damn high for Rodgers -- considering SF passed on Aaron in the 2005 NFL Draft so they could pick up Alex Smith.

Plus, the Niners and the Pack are both considered NFC favorites this season.

So, we gotta ask ...
