Michael Harris -- the new mayor of a small Louisiana city -- tells TMZ his predecessor, Misty Roberts, shocked the population when allegations of her having sex with a teenage boy at a drunken pool party broke.
According to Harris ... his prior impression of Misty is that she was a good wife, mother and person ... but that image was completely shattered by her arrest and subsequent conviction for having carnal knowledge of a juvenile -- a term often used interchangeably with statutory rape.
He said, "I'll use the word disappointment ... the majority of people in town are disappointed. Leadership should have higher standards."
David Del Rio Takes CBS to Arbitration Over 'Matlock' Firing
David Del Rio is not giving up after CBS fired him from "Matlock" following an allegation of sexual assault involving costar Leah Lewis ... because now he wants to battle the network in arbitration.
The actor's powerhouse lawyer, Shawn Holley, tells TMZ ... David has initiated arbitration against CBS Studios to address false and misleading allegations that caused substantial professional and reputational harm.
We're told David plans to present text messages and other evidence at arbitration that his lawyer says directly contradict prior public characterizations of the interaction at issue. Holley says the evidence was "not fully considered" before CBS fired David.

Misty Roberts -- the former mayor of a small Louisiana town who was convicted of having carnal knowledge of a juvenile -- is not happy with how her trial turned out ... because she still says she did nothing wrong.
Misty's lawyer Todd Clemons tells TMZ ... Misty is "very, very disappointed" in yesterday's verdict.
Clemons said ... "At this particular point, there's no apology that I'm gonna give on her behalf," adding while Misty respects the jury, she plans to appeal their verdict.

The 16-year-old boy who had sex with the former mayor of small Louisiana town dropped some jaw-dropping details testifying in court this week ... before the ex-mayor was convicted Tuesday.
The teen at the center of the trial took the stand yesterday, describing a "big argument" that took place after he was caught in bed with former DeRidder Mayor Misty Roberts ... he said Roberts immediately shifted blame to him after the drunken incident ... and he said Roberts told her own son to fight him.
According to local news outlet KPLC-TV, the underage victim said Roberts' son told the two they had been recorded having sex .... which prompted Roberts to scream, "Go fight your friend. He's the one who did it."
Dennis Hopper Daughter Sues Widow Over IP Rights
Dennis Hopper’s family is locked in an intense legal battle … with the late actor’s daughter claiming his widow interfered with a binding deal to manage the Dennis' image rights and legacy.
According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Hayward Luxury -- a luxury goods brand founded by Hopper’s daughter Marin Hopper -- claims Victoria Duffy Hopper worked behind the scenes to derail a signed contract that gave Hayward the right to control Dennis Hopper's various trademarks and rights of publicity.
The suit says after Dennis Hopper died in May 2010, the Hopper Art Trust was created to promote and manage his artwork -- including photographs, paintings, and sculptures -- along with his intellectual property.
Hayward says it struck a deal in 2018 with the trust to purchase certain intellectual property rights tied to Hopper, claiming Hayward paid around $800,000 in the first few years of the agreement to invest in the rights it had purchased.

Misty Roberts -- ex-mayor of DeRidder, LA, with a population of under 10,000 -- was reportedly convicted by a jury of having sex with a minor in 2024 while she was still in office.
Local news outlets reported it only took the jury less than hour to find the 43-year-old former mayor guilty on two felony charges of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile yesterday.

James Marsters has been paying his ex-wife Patricia Jasmin Rahman thousands in spousal support for nearly five years ... but it appears the monthly payments will end soon.
According to the divorce judgment, the veteran actor agreed to pay a base payment of $4K every month to Rahman beginning August 1, 2021 ... which is set to continue until either one of them dies, Rahman remarries, or June 1, 2026 -- whichever comes first.
In addition, if Marsters' yearly income was to exceed a certain threshold in any year, the star would also have to make an additional payment to Rahman, according to the deal.

Judge David Haines filed his decision recently ... denying a motion filed by Hall's legal team in December that was looking to make Hill sit down with a licensed psychologist to determine "the full scope of Defendant's mental state, aggression and culpability."
Her filing stated that it was "critical" for Hall to have Hill go through that exam, saying they needed an expert who specializes in the field "to evaluate the defendant's longstanding pattern of anger and aggression towards others, particularly women, his documented history of violent behavior, including issues related to anger management, impulse control and aggression, which are directly in controversy and forms a critical component of this case."

Savannah Chrisley's prescription weight loss website is under a federal microscope ... 'cause the FDA warned her about making false and misleading claims about GLP-1s.
The feds fired off a warning letter, obtained by TMZ, to Savannah last month ... advising her that they reviewed her website GoodGirlRX and found some issues.
Namely, the feds took issue with some claims her company made concerning compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide products ... the FDA didn't like that she used the phrases "FDA-approved meds," "FDA-approved options" and "clinically proven GLP-1 results."
The feds schooled Savannah, telling her compounded drug products like the ones her site offers are NOT FDA-approved ... and they said she was implying that her products had been "evaluated for safety and effectiveness when they have not."
'American Idol' Alum Caleb Flynn Is Sitting in Solitary Confinement
"American Idol" alum Caleb Flynn must be singing the blues behind bars ... TMZ has learned Caleb has been placed in solitary confinement after he was locked up for allegedly murdering his wife in Ohio.
In mid-February, Caleb was arrested for allegedly shooting his wife Ashley to death in their bedroom at their Tipp City home while their children slept in another room, according to police. Caleb called 911 to report an intruder broke in and shot Ashley.
Prosecutors charged Caleb with murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence for allegedly staging the crime scene. Caleb was booked into the Miami County jail on $2 million bail.
TMZ spoke with a veteran corrections officer at the jail who tells us ... Caleb was placed in a single cell in isolation to ensure his safety as he awaits trial.

Clearly, this video was recorded not long after her corpse was found deceased in bed ... because the officer says she is still located exactly where she took her last breath.
Police unloaded tons of body cam footage from their initial investigation, including video of Caleb being cuffed and processed at the station ... it's all in the clip. He was arrested Thursday by the Tipp City PD and booked into the county jail for murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence.
