Sydney Sweeney was boots on the ground at Dodger Stadium Tuesday night for game 4 of the World Series, and she had some company ... taking in the action alongside Christy Martin!

Sweeney -- who portrays Martin in the soon-to-be-released biopic, Christy -- shared a selfie of the two from Chavez Ravine, and the women were nothing but smiles as they settled in to watch Shohei Ohtani take the mound.

It's not the first time we've seen the duo together; they hit the red carpet for the premiere of the boxing flick last month. While that was for work ... tonight's appearance shows the two have developed a strong bond.

The baseball world learned Will Klein's name following his massive pitching performance for the Dodgers in Game 3 of the World Series on Monday ... but there's at least one guy who wasn't surprised one bit -- his college coach!!

We chopped it up with Jason Anderson -- the manager of the Eastern Illinois Panthers -- after his former player helped lift L.A. to a 2-1 lead over Toronto.

Anderson, who the New York Yankees selected in the 2000 MLB Draft, said he initially fell asleep during the 12th inning ... but was jolted awake by his son when he noticed Klein on the mound.

Carol Freeman -- who was also a fan-favorite on this season of "The Golden Bachelor" -- tells TMZ ... She damn-near missed Freddie’s epic walk-off home run in the 18th inning … ‘cause she was hunting for ice cream at concessions.

She had to book it back to her seat ... but Carol tells us she made it in time to say a little prayer Freddie wouldn't be the final out after the huge battle between the Dodgers and Blue Jays that went until midnight.

Check out the video ... the Grammy winner gave a thumbs down at LA.'s Dodger Stadium as Ohtani rounded the bases after one of his 2 homers. The Dodgers are, of course, playing against Bieber's beloved Toronto Blue Jays in a duel for the ages.

The "Sorry" singer bravely repped his team while rocking a #57 jersey with his name on the back. The name is just a coincidence, though, as #57 actually belongs to Jays pitcher Shane Bieber -- no relation.

Game 3 of the World Series clocked in at a whopping six hours and 39 minutes ... and Dodgers and Blue Jays players were doing everything to stay locked in -- including some late-night eats!

Cameras caught both teams being delivered a fruit platter as the game wore on late into the night, and after playing 18 innings of baseball, anything would have hit the spot.

While it's unclear where the fruit came from -- a vendor outside, restaurant supplies from the stadium -- the options were vast ... from watermelon to pineapple ... and even grapes!

Milwaukee addressed the viral video from the seventh inning of Game 2 ... saying, "The Brewers expect all persons attending games to be respectful of each other, and we do not condone in any way offensive statements fans make to each other about race, gender or national origin."
