LM lists “Cardigan”, by Taylor Swift, as one of the things he’s grateful for.
“I downloaded a bunch of Taylor Swift and Charli XCX. I’ve never really listened to either of them, but some phony list of my favorite music circulated on social media. Rather than… pic.twitter.com/9F7LD8rraQ
In a new fan letter circulating online, which we authenticated, Luigi explained he recently downloaded their music to his prison tablet at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center -- even admitting he’d never really listened to them before, but decided to give it a shot after a fake list of his "favorite artists" went viral.
Turns out, the alleged murderer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson actually tried out Taylor’s "cardigan" while walking laps on the tier... until another inmate, known as "King," caught wind of it.

Luigi Mangione says the U.S. Dept. of Justice and President Donald Trump's White House have launched a coordinated public smear campaign against him ... deliberately trying to taint the jury pool in his federal case, which could lead to his execution.
According to new court documents, obtained by TMZ, Luigi zeroes in on Trump himself, saying the commander-in-chief released a September 25, 2025 memorandum titled, "Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence."
The memo lists certain people as "anti-fascist" and calls "Antifa" -- a loosely associated left-wing anti-fascist group -- a Domestic Terrorist Organization.

Luigi Mangione is livin' large in the pokey ... because TMZ has learned he's got a whopping $40,000 in his commissary — and it's all thanks to his gazillion fans!
The alleged murderer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson is so beloved by his supporters that they funnel lotsa cash into his coffers at Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, according to a recently released jailhouse source whose information we corroborated.
And get this ... Luigi can spend the money on some cheap goodies such as Nutella Hazelnut spread for just $4.90, summer sausage for a mere $2.10, or some oatmeal for just $3.65. If Luigi wants something spicy, he can splurge on jalapeno wheels for $3.20 and, if he has a hankering for a block of Velveeta cheese, he can shell out $3.70. Bottom line is Luigi's got much more money than he can spend -- but he has a cap of $160 per visit to the commissary.
Luigi Mangione Hey Judge, How Many Times Do I Have To Say It? Toss The Damn Death Penalty Charge!!!
Luigi Mangione is trying to poke more holes in his federal death penalty case ... filing a new motion attacking the charge that could end his life if he's convicted of it.
Mangione and his attorneys -- Karen Friedman Agnifilo, Jacob Kaplan, and Marc Agnifilo -- are asking the judge to toss count 3 of his 4-count federal indictment -- murder through use of a firearm -- which carries a maximum sentence of death or life in prison.
Federal prosecutors indicted Luigi in 2024, accusing him of fatally shooting UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson on the street in Midtown Manhattan. New York state prosecutors have also charged Luigi with murdering Thompson, as well as other serious offenses.
Luigi Mangione's Lawyer Today Is a 'Big Win' for Us ... Diddy's Up Next
Fans applauded Luigi Mangione's lawyers Karen Friedman Agnifilo and Marc Agnifilo as they left court Tuesday morning after a judge threw out 2 state murder charges related to acts of terrorism.
We caught them exiting the New York City courtroom ... they remained nearly tight-lipped about Luigi, though Marc let us know he's feeling "positive" as Sean "Diddy" Combs' sentencing quickly approaches. Remember -- his federal sentencing for his conviction on 2 counts of transportation to engage in prostitution is scheduled for October 3.
Marc was a bit chattier than his better half ... letting TMZ know today's hearing with Luigi is a "big win" and "the first of many."

Luigi Mangione scored a legal victory Tuesday ... 2 New York state charges against him have been dismissed.
The judge tossed out murder in the first degree in furtherance of an act of terrorism and murder in the second degree as a crime of terrorism. In his ruling, the judge cited precedent saying, "The [terrorism] statute cannot be interpreted so broadly so as to cover individuals or groups who are not normally viewed as 'terrorists.'"
The judge went on to distinguish Mangione's case from other cases involving terrorism ... "The defendant's targeted killing of one individual -- although abhorrent and despicable -- is not comparable."
Charlie Kirk Murder Alleged Killer Reportedly Chatted Online With Others ... Claimed It Was His Doppelganger
UPDATE
1:18 PM PT -- A Discord spokesperson tells TMZ ... "During our investigation, Discord identified an account belonging to the suspect. We have not found or received any evidence that the suspect planned this incident on Discord or promoted violence on Discord."
They continued ... "The messages referenced in reporting about weapon retrieval and planning details were not Discord messages, and likely took place on a phone-number based messaging platform. We continue to work closely with the FBI and local authorities, and will continue to deliver prompt responses to their requests for assistance."
The suspected killer of Charlie Kirk was messaging with people over social media after the assassination last week, claiming a lookalike fired the deadly shot, according to a new report.
The New York Times says Tyler Robinson was chatting with 20 individuals online after the FBI released photos of Kirk's alleged killer, which were the spitting image of Robinson.
One person reportedly recognized Robinson, tagging him in a post with the FBI pics and asking where he was at the time of the murder.

Luigi Mangione's slew of Chinese supporters might have been behind the shocking SHEIN ad, highlighting the suspected killer's good looks, that's gone viral ... according to sources with direct knowledge of the situation.
Our sources say Luigi's mountain of fans in China could be the motivation for the third-party vendor responsible for the flattering Luigi ad released online by SHEIN to promote the China-based company's clothing line.
And there's data to back it up, which can be found on an online dashboard -- created by a Luigi fan -- tracking how many donations and letters Mangione receives at the Metropolitan Detention Center in NYC. We are conducting a thorough investigation, strengthening our monitoring processes, and will take appropriate action against the vendor in line with our policies."

A SHEIN spokesperson tells TMZ the listing was pulled down as soon as they were alerted to our story, calling out the similarities between the ad model and Mangione.
As they told us ... they're unclear how this situation happened in the first place -- but are working to change protocol to make sure it never happens again.
Luigi Mangione Getting His Shein On?!?
Luigi Mangione has some people really confused right now ... 'cause it sure appears SHEIN is using the accused killer's face to help sell clothes!
Ya gotta see this model in the photographs for a button down shirt for sale on the fast fashion website ... the guy's mug looks an awful lot like Luigi.
Unclear if this is a photoshopped Luigi or the product of some generative artificial intelligence ... but it seems like the model here is helping SHEIN ... the shirt is mostly sold out, with only one size available.

Dave Franco and Alison Brie are spending a lot of time together while promoting their new movie "Together" ... but, they're clearly head over heels with one another -- locking lips during the press tour.
The husband and wife co-stars were all over each other during a pop up event for their new flick Saturday ... with the extras around them kissing too.
The poster for their new flick depicts a couple's lips stuck together, essentially forming one set of lips ... so, looks like these shots are an homage to that.
Dave Franco I'm Open To Playing Luigi On Big Screen
Dave Franco is keeping an open mind about possibly playing Luigi Mangione in a potential biopic ... and it sounds like lots of folks in his life think he would be perfect for the role.
The actor was on 'Watch What Happens Live' with Andy Cohen when a fan asked him straight up whether he would play Luigi in a movie if he was offered the chance.
Dave says no one has approached him about such a role yet, but ... tons of people in his circle have raised the same possibility -- and it's actually the thing he gets asked about more than "anything else that has ever happened." Makes sense, Dave and Luigi bear a striking resemblance.
NYC Shooting Exec's Murder Sparks Luigi Memes ... Internet Trolls Mock CEO Death
Demented trolls are poking fun at one of the NYC shooter's victims this week ... saying a corporate real-estate executive got "LUIGI'D" -- a reference to alleged UnitedHealthCare CEO killer Luigi Mangione.
Social media scoundrels posted a photo on X of a woman named Wesley LePatner -- senior managing director of Blackstone -- who was one of 4 people fatally shot by Shane Tamura inside a Manhattan skyscraper Monday night before he took his own life.
The pic shows LePatner in a corporate setting with the word “LUIGI’D” stamped across her face in big red letters, along with a caption that reads, “Wesley LePatner, CEO of Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust, has been evicted from the mortal plane."
Luigi Mangione Prosecution Accused of Violating Federal Law
UPDATE
8/8 9:38 AM PT -- Prosecutors just responded to Luigi Mangione's defense team and they say they did nothing wrong.
In new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, prosecutors say they issued a valid subpoena to Aetna for account numbers and dates of when Luigi received coverage and Aetna made an administrative mistake and seemingly provided materials outside of the scope of the subpoena.
Prosecutors say they identified the error, notified the court and Luigi's defense and then deleted their copy of said materials.
Luigi Mangione's lawyers are accusing the prosecution of cheating to obtain confidential information about him ... specifically claiming they violated federal law through a recent subpoena.
The defense team -- led by Karen Friedman Agnifilo -- sent a letter to the judge Thursday in which they claim prosecutors partially reviewed documents about Luigi's medical care that are supposed to be protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
Mangione's side says prosecutors created a fraudulent subpoena to obtain the health information ... circumventing the rules by telling the health insurance company Aetna they could send the docs right to them.
