Braxton Berrios' season is over ... he's been officially diagnosed with a torn ACL -- but his girlfriend, Alix Earle, is making it clear she's going to be in his corner until he's back and better than ever.

The Dolphins star return man was hurt during Miami's 16-10 loss to the Colts on Sunday ... and after test results Monday revealed he'll need several months to return to 100 percent, Earle took to her Instagram page to express her heartbreak over the situation.

She did, though, say she was confident her man would get back to 100 percent despite the severity of the ailment ... and she vowed to be there with him every step of the way.

Despite suffering yet another scary head injury, Tua Tagovailoa is still going to try to return to the NFL -- so says his close family friend, Manti Te'o.

The former New Orleans Saints linebacker made the revelation to us out in Los Angeles this week -- some 21 days after Tagovailoa sustained his third diagnosed concussion in a "Thursday Night Football" matchup with the Bills.

Te'o says while he's tried to give the 26-year-old signal-caller his space as he recovers from the brain trauma ... he did recently speak with the Dolphins star's father -- and from everything he's hearing, Tua is "going to try to get back."

If Dr. Bennet Omalu -- the brain expert credited with the discovery of CTE -- was running either the NFL or the Miami Dolphins ... he tells TMZ Sports he'd force Tua Tagovailoa to retire following his latest head injury.

The inspiration for the famous Will Smith "Concussion" movie didn't mince words when talking about the matter on Friday ... saying straight up the consequences for allowing the 26-year-old back on the field after yet another concussion could be dire.

Specifically, Omalu says if Tagovailoa were to sustain another significant blow to the brain -- he could become "permanently incapacitated."

The cop who put his knee in Tyreek Hill's back and aggressively slapped handcuffs on the NFL superstar during a traffic stop last weekend has been accused of excessive force in the past, TMZ Sports has learned.

According to Miami-Dade Police Department records we obtained, officer Danny Torres has received numerous complaints since joining the MDPD back in October 1996.

The records show that on six separate occasions, he was accused of misconduct, including force violations as well as improper procedures. Torres was also investigated for his use of force at least 13 times as well.

NFL Stars Urge Tua To Retire After Latest Concussion

NFL players are seriously worried about Tua Tagovailoa's health after his scary concussion during "Thursday Night Football" ... with everyone from Tony Gonzalez and Shannon Sharpe to Antonio Brown urging the Dolphins quarterback to consider retirement.

Gonzalez, a Hall of Famer, was broadcasting the Bills vs. Dolphins game ... so he got a first-hand view of all that went down in the 3rd quarter, when Tagovailoa seemed to lose consciousness after a hard collision with Damar Hamlin.

Tagovailoa, 26, was taken off the field with help from the training staff and was ruled out for the rest of the game.

30-year-old Hill was cited for careless driving and failing to wear his seat belt ahead of the Miami Dolphins season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars ... a routine stop that turned ugly after a dispute between the NFL superstar and officers on the scene.

"High rate [of] speed visual estimation 60 MPH, no seat belt. High [traffic] of pedestrians and [vehicles]," one of the cops noted on the careless driving ticket.

10:14 AM PT -- Director Daniels tells TMZ ... she's reviewing details surrounding the incident and body cam footage from the scene. Further updates will be provided when they become available.

Tyreek Hill -- the best player on the Dolphins -- was put on the ground and placed in handcuffs just hours before Miami's kickoff Sunday ... although it appears he'll still play in the game.

Video circulating on social media shows several law enforcement officers confronting the 30-year-old just feet away from Hard Rock Stadium -- where the Fins will take on the Jaguars at 10 AM PT.
