Cruise Nailed Over Hitler's Ball

Published | Updated

As if "Valkyrie" weren't crap enough on its own, Tom Cruise is in trouble for allegedly using a replica of Hitler's favorite globe in the movie.

Robert Pritikin, an SF ad exec, tells the New York Post he owns the globe Hitler used to plan U-boat attacks, among other things, and was shocked to see a replica of it in Cruise's movie. Pritikin claims he owns the copyright to the globe's likeness so it couldn't be co-opted by neo-Nazi groups.

Lawyers for Pritikin, who created the Rice-a-Roni jingle, say the whole thing could be just an "oversight." Cruise's reps couldn't be reached.

"Dark Knight" -- Too Spicy for China

Seems everyone in the world has seen "The Dark Knight" –- everyone except about a billion Chinese folks.

That's because "DK" hasn't been released by Warner Bros. in mainland China, reports the Huffington Post, because of "prerelease conditions" and "cultural sensitivities." There's a scene that takes place in Hong Kong where Batman corrals a gangster, and another involving a famous actor who got caught up in a sex-pic scandal, and those scenes may have worried the studio.

Of course, as HuffPost points out, bootlegs have been available for months in China.

"Beetlejuice" Actor's House Burns

Glenn Shadix -- who played "Otho" the decorator in "Beetlejuice" -- watched a fire tear through his Alabama home, if you couldn't tell by the devastated look on his face.

Glenn left his house (intact) on December 13, and when he returned at around 11:00 AM, it was engulfed in flames, according to the Western Tribune.

Glenn bought the home -- built in 1886 -- a year ago when he moved back to Bessemer, Alabama, his hometown. The Trib reports Shadix repeatedly told firefighters, "I've lost my dream."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
