Damian Lillard's time in Milwaukee has come to an abrupt end -- the Bucks are releasing the star guard amid his torn Achilles recovery.
The surprising move occurred during the first full day of free agency on Tuesday ... when Milwaukee let go of the 9-time All-Star to financially make room to sign ex-Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner to a four-year deal worth $107 million.
The Bucks will now pay Lillard the remaining $113 million of his contract over the next five years.

Ronnie Coleman's family is providing an update on his health condition -- revealing the legendary bodybuilder is suffering from an infection in his bloodstream ... and has been moved to a specialized medical center for treatment.
The news was released on Tuesday ... a day after Coleman's loved ones told fans he was hospitalized with a "serious medical condition".
The family said Coleman was moved to the new facility to receive the "highest care possible," and he "remains under intensive medical supervision."

Bodybuilding legend Ronnie Coleman was taken to a nearby hospital with a "serious medical condition" this weekend, his family said in a statement.
The 61-year-old initially alerted fans to his health issues on Sunday ... saying due to a "medical emergency," he would not be able to attend an event in the UK -- but told his supporters not to worry, as he's getting the best care for the undisclosed ailment.
Coleman's loved ones provided an update on Monday ... saying the fitness expert "continues to show incredible strength and resilience."

10:35 AM PT -- NBC 4 New York cites a law enforcement source that says the 16-year-old girl who was wounded in Sunday night's shooting may be the initial shooter. She's reportedly believed to have pulled out a gun and fired first.
ABC7 New York said the 17-year-old girl who was struck was not the intended target. The 16-year-old girl was struck in the head by a bullet fired by her alleged accomplice, an unidentified male who's still at large. The 16-year-old is in police custody but is still hospitalized.
We're also learning a third victim was wounded at the scene last night ... a 17-year-old girl walked into a hospital emergency room last night with a stab wound to her stomach, and she was listed in stable condition Monday.
NYC's famous Pride Parade was marred by bloodshed Sunday night ... after at least one gunman pumped bullets into two girls near the Stonewall Inn -- an historic gay bar in Greenwich Village.
The New York City Police Department tells TMZ ... the shooting erupted at 10:15 PM around the corner from the landmark saloon, the site of the celebrated 1969 riots. Back then, the LGBTQ community said they were being persecuted by the government after a violent police raid at the watering hole.
When cops arrived at Sunday's crime scene, they found two girls -- ages 16 and 17 -- with gunshot wounds. Police say the victims were rushed to a local hospital, where one was listed in critical condition and the other was stable.

The 73-year-old AEW talent opened up on his health status during his "Grilling JR" podcast ... where he said his colon cancer is "gone, which I'm very happy to say," according to Wrestling News.
Ross added he's feeling so good, he's eyeing being back on the AEW mic next month at "All In" -- a goal he voiced during last week's show.

The two-time All-Star shared a photo from a hospital along with a lengthy, emotional, and real statement ... a day after sustaining the serious injury in the deciding game.

The bad news has been confirmed -- Tyrese Haliburton did, in fact, tear his right Achilles tendon during Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday.

Haliburton -- averaging 17.2 points in the playoffs -- was carried off the court ... and was seen using crutches and a wheelchair following the championship loss.

Terry Luttrell from the iconic rock band REO Speedwagon got into a bad car wreck after a concert on Sunday -- crashing his vehicle after falling asleep at the wheel following a long night.
The 78-year-old tells TMZ ... it all went down after a late-night concert -- he was driving from Illinois to St. Louis after staying up until 4:30 AM Sunday. He felt sleepy and headed towards an exit on the highway .... but nodded off behind the wheel while on the exit ramp. His car veered off the ramp, rolled over once and landed upright in the swale area.
The singer says, "I can only thank my Father in heaven for seeing me through. It could've been worse — I might not have made it — but obviously he feels like it's not time for me to leave yet."
Terry confirms to us he woke up "cocooned" -- wrapped in airbags after the crash ... they deployed on impact and cracked his sternum.
