President Donald Trump says the U.S. has the hantavirus situation under control ... but he admits there's only so much he can do as fears grow over the deadly cruise ship outbreak.
Trump addressed the increasing panic Monday from the Oval Office ... telling reporters, "I hope it's fine," while insisting the country is in "very good shape" -- despite the virus, which comes from contact with infected rodent waste, spreading aboard the stricken cruise ship MV Hondius.
POTUS added ... "All I can do is everything that a president can do, which is actually somewhat limited."
Mexican Fairground Disaster 5 Killed in Raging Fireball
Absolute tragedy in Mexico ... a massive fire ripped through a packed fairground, killing at least 5 people.
Video from the horrifying scene Thursday night shows huge flames tearing through the Parque Tabasco shopping mall fair in Villahermosa in Southern Mexico. Terrified crowds of fairgoers scrambled to escape flames and thick smoke billowing into the sky.
Officials say they finally got the blaze under control by Friday morning, according to Tabasco’s Civil Protection agency.
Tabasco Governor Javier May Rodríguez confirmed investigations are now underway to determine what sparked the deadly inferno ... and he also announced the state will provide economic recovery for impacted businesses.
Rodriguez offered condolences to the families of the 5 victims, saying some of those killed were fair exhibitors who just didn't have time to escape the most intense part of fire.

According to reporting from Spanish newspaper El País, 23 passengers aboard the MV Hondius got off the ship during a stop on the remote Atlantic island of Saint Helena in April -- despite the fact people onboard had already gotten sick and at least one passenger had died.
A Spanish passenger still aboard the ship told the outlet the travelers had no clue they may have been exposed to hantavirus -- a potentially deadly disease with a mortality rate WHO reports could be as high as 40% -- when they disembarked and headed home.

Footage from the demonstrations in cities such as L.A., Denver and Portland shows more than 8 million people nationwide protesting President Trump's strict immigration polices, skyrocketing costs, and the American war with Iran.
Demonstrators also showed up in Trump's backyard in Palm Beach, Florida, to express their anger at what they perceive as 47's authoritarian rule. The Coast Guard was even seen posted up in the area.
At first, things were pretty calm with protesters making their voices heard by holding up anti-Trump signs while calling for him to leave office ... but then it all went downhill after demonstrators clashed with federal agents and counterprotesters in the aforementioned cities.

Noelia Castillo Ramos' parents were not with her when she died following a voluntary euthanasia procedure, TMZ has learned.
A spokesperson for Abogados Cristianos -- Christian Lawyers, the organization representing Noelia's dad in his legal attempt to stop the procedure -- tells TMZ neither her mother nor her father were present for her death Thursday.
News outlets reported a judge denied her father's last-minute request to stop the medically-assisted suicide ... but the spokesperson tells us Christian Lawyers wasn't aware of him taking any specific action leading up to the procedure.

Three people were killed Thursday in a helicopter crash at Kalalau Beach on Kauai, Hawaii ... multiple agencies report the chopper crashed into the ocean near the beach around 3:45 PM.

Barcelona woman Noelia Castillo Ramos died Thursday, after voluntarily undergoing a euthanasia procedure.
According to a public statement, Christian Lawyers -- the group representing Noelia's dad -- wrote ... "We deeply regret her death and denounce that this case highlights the serious flaws in the euthanasia law, which does not protect the most vulnerable people. We urge politicians to use her story to drive urgent changes and prevent something like this from happening again."
Noelia's father reportedly tried to halt the medically-assisted suicide at the last minute, but a judge rejected his request, according to Antena 3 Noticias.
LaGuardia Plane Crash Survivor Describes Screams, Helping Passengers Exit
Rebecca Liquori -- a surviving passenger on the Air Canada plane that collided with a fire truck on the runway at LaGuardia Airport this week -- can't get the sound of people screaming out of her head ... as she focuses on healing from the near-death experience.
TMZ caught up with Rebecca Thursday, just days after the pilots of her plane were killed in the crash ... and she walked us through her thoughts, from the moment the plane came to a crashing halt, to the moment she deboarded to discover its entire front had been torn off.
Watch the clip ... she tells us it was chaos when the plane hit the truck -- passengers were screaming and they had no instructions from the crew -- one of whom was ejected, landing on the tarmac.
Rebecca is a nurse, and her instincts quickly took over as she opened the emergency door and helped fellow passengers out. She notes despite the panic, passengers came together with a "herd mentality" to help everyone exit the aircraft safely.
